Thank you! All I need is clock oil and I will try to repair my music box that has not worked for YEARS! I once said to my Dad that I loved music boxes, so he got me one for Christmas every year for a long time. I've kept a couple, and the first one he gave me is very nice - and special. Love these type of videos where you teach us how to save vintage pieces! Some times it's so easy to bring new life back into an item where someone else called it broken and threw it away.
My husband gave me a jewelry box with a music box when I was 15. I am now 65 and it has been overwound for decades. I also have my son Jack’s favorite childhood stuffed bear with an overwound music box to repair. We lost our son two years ago and it would be so nice to be able to repair that. My grandmother gave me a music box that sat on her dresser again, overwound. I look forward to playing them all again thanks to you! Your talent is endless...thank you so much! I will let you know if I’m successful!

Most people call me 'Karyn', but if you want to call me 'Buddy', that's OK! LOL> I don't know when I ever turned my volume up to 90s so fast! It is pretty quiet at first, is the song 'Oh, What a Beautiful Morning?' 'Oh, What a Beautiful Day?' This looks like the brush and oil similar to the sewing machine kit? Oh, I see 'clock oil'. I have a bride from my wedding keepsake that's a music box. She always has been working fine, but the Fear of the 'OverWind!' is Real from since I was little. When I see a lovely broken music box at Goodwill, You know I'm bringing it Home with Me for the Challenge! It's so lovely Sophia. I like All the Birds you display.

Thank you ever so much for your video I bought a music box it's a wooden music box with a wooden horse and a little wooden girl riding the horse at the flea market yesterday. I was not looking for a music box. It kind of talk to me it was in a box with a bunch of other stuff and I kept hearing this little noise and what it was was the music box trying to play. It really really needed oil. So I saved it I brought it home and I found a lovely spider and a nest inside of it so I killed that LOL and watch your video and fix my music box thank you

Oh what a beautiful repair video! ;) I love music boxes! I read in our local paper recently that a neighboring town had set up a Repair Cafe. it's run by volunteers with varying areas of expertise, and people bring in their broken items to hopefully get repaired! It's just such a good idea, and nice contrast to our throw-away society. :)

Well, I didn’t ask, but have several that need repairs! I am excited to try it. Right now I am on a rag doll mending operation... I put it off long enough. So music boxes will be next and I will let you know how it goes!

Wonderful job, Sophia! I have an inexpensive musical jewelry box I was given as a child (about 70 years ago!) which no longer plays. I'll have to see if I can gain access to the moving parts.

Fantastic do you fix real clocks too? I was given an old clock that you have to wind 2 key holes with the key one of the springs is wound tight or should I say sprung want to have it fixed. I just love real clocks not battery operated. I love your grandfather clock wish I could send you a picture of the clock I'm talking about

Not sure about whale oil. I suppose the sewing machine is the same type.

If it's stuck and it should move...wd40 or oil. If it moves and it should not...duct tape!
