Always great to watch your podcasts. I especially liked your chat/tips on color work. Keep up the great work. Thanks for all you do for the knitting world!
Love your podcasts. Your genuine friendship comes across the screen, but it isn't exclusionary. Somehow, watching it, I always feel included in the conversation. And so many great ideas and supplies! Now, just where to start....
That's so great to hear Julie! We really feel a connection with our community even when it is through a screen! And you are exactly right, where to start, to continue, to choose, to frog, to abandon 😩😂
Thanks for the great tips on stranded colourwork knitting. I love your podcasts and your store is awesome. I grew up in NDG but now live in Calgary so when I came back to Mtl after 40 years I made a point of checking out your store.
Great to hear that you had a chance to visit us! There is a big Montreal community in Calgary (I have 4 relatives who made the move) but coming home after all those years must have been fun!
I really enjoyed how chatty this episode was. Way less formal and more like we are all sitting together in conversation. It was nice. Great job ladies.
I love you guys!!! This was such a fun podcast. I was rolling when you were discussing color work and your examples were black. So funny! And Lisa was talking about the magnetic board and where she places the magnet on a chart. I do the same...but different. I put the magnet above the line I’m working on so it shows all that I have worked and I can make sure I’m on track.
You have the best staff. This weekend I walked in with a ball of fingering weight of my stash and didn't know what to do with it. I think it was Catherine, she spent time with me to find another perfect skein so I could make a shawl. She was so patient and kind, I picked up a beautiful skein of Knitting it Up. You have the best team, that's why I return often to the store :)
Ok so i love anything made with Silk Cloud, but i have a Churchmouse Yarns Easy Folded Poncho that is a go to, and always gets compliments. Love the podcast, so happy you have hit the 10K subscriber mark 💞💞
Love you ladies! Always look forward to knitting with you - finishing my 2nd Ave. :) I went to Knit City in Vancouver this past weekend - you two need to put that on your list! You would love it - I bought all grey...not intentional, but that is what I gravitated towards. I thought of you both when I unpacked ALL my grey!! lol.
What a great way to spend my evening! Thanks! I always watch on my iPad and have my laptop on Ravelry ready to favorite a ton of what you show. I annotate the note section with what episode and time stamp. All goal knitting! Merci et passé un bon week-end😁🐑😻
I find that if you put the magnet on top of the current row, you see the stitches that are in the previous row and follow as the stitches présentes themselves on your needles. I lurked this in a knit love yarn class.
Lisa, I totally get the anxiety your feeling with your color work! I’m knitting the Humulus, and have ripped back and restarted the color work section 3 TIMES already. Trying to keep my knitting loose, and using different needle sizes. When it’s loose, I feel like it’s messy, and I want to restart! I’m still feeling that way, but I’ve decided to go with it, and trust it will block nicely...🤞
😩Thanks for sharing in my pain!! The Humulus has been on my list since it came out. Blocking does miracles indeed! I also use the Knitter's Pride Knit Blockers and I can get a few more inches than with just straight pins!
My favorite part was when Lisa was showing the knitting related greeting cards and said, “You can always give a non knitter the bird.” I don’t know if that expression resonates in Canada but here, in the states, I found it hysterical.
Thanks for another lovely episode. Living so far from a LYS I love seeing all the knitting products. I've only done one colourwork project so far, through Craftsy, a Mary Jane Mucklestone course, and I would greatly recommend it for those starting out with colourwork. I'm going to knit the Gateway to Rustic (but I left my Tuku wool in Europe,) so it will be at the end of the year to get the colourwork going again. Your sweaters are fabulous!
Lisa, Your magnet goes on top of the line you are reading. You don't need to know what is coming up but always have to know what you did the row before. It takes a little time to get use to it but you can catch mistake right away.
Thanks so much Amanda! Please let us know the exact date so we make sure that we are there! I just put a skein of your yarn that I bought at Cricket Cove in a ball to test out a new design! Now I just have to find the time 😩😂
Perfectly Imperfect... I adore you two ladies. Your "realness" has given me the inspiration to go RE-start my Ingalls. It's my first sweater and I live with ADD and after my first go at it... and frogging everything.... I got incredibly discouraged. So, I re-cast on this evening and I have the entire day to myself tomorrow. Guess what I'm doing? XOXO!
On the magnetic board I would recommend having the magnet above the chart line you're knitting so that you can see all of what you've knit. It makes it a lot easier to read your knitting.
Love the tips on stranded color work. How did you know I would be working on a totally stranded three-color Santa pillow as I watched the podcast! Thanks so much!
Lisa, I agree with Melissa, if you switch to the 4.5 mm metal needles you should be fine. You knit tight, there shouldn’t be that much increase in the gauge and it should block out fine. If you turn your work inside out so the floats are on the outside as you knit supposedly it helps keep your floats longer. You could try and see if that works for you. I love the Knitters Pride magnetic charts!
Melissa held up a skein of multi coloured mohair by Lichen and Lace when she was speaking about pairing it with a solid single ply in the Colorblocked Cardigan. Was that colourway Wild Flowers or Pressed Flowers?
I just took a top-down sweater class with Jennifer Steingass, the designer of many amazing stranded sweaters, aka knitlovewool, at Vogue Knitting Live SF, and she does not catch her floats!
I’m new to your channel- I’m a sewing RUclipsr from Toronto! Knitting is my other craft I do when I need something different than sewing. :) btw, what is “pick”?
It made me laugh when you talked about going off social media to not get distracted with all the beautiful things you could make. :>) This very podcast CAUSED me to go on social media to find out more about the beautiful ideas you've shared. I'm okay with it. :>) @friendoblu
Je viens tout juste de vous découvrir ! Je suis ravie !
Great show. Thank you.
Yes I found putting my magnets above the line I’m knitting works better
Always great to watch your podcasts. I especially liked your chat/tips on color work. Keep up the great work. Thanks for all you do for the knitting world!
Thanks Kim 😊
Your conversation and tips for colorwork were so helpful! I always enjoy listening and watching you girls 😊
Another fun video to knit along to - I laughed out loud A LOT. 😂 You two are the best. ❤
Such a fun, relaxed, enjoyable podcast, loaded with yummy yarns and new cast on inspiration ! Thank you 🥂
You both look fabulous in your jumpers...love them. Another great episode ..thank you.
☺️

love the "someone's gotta love you to knit black for you" comment. both of your sweaters look great!
Thanks 😂😊
I am always excited when you put out a new podcast. Thank you for the constant inspiration. I just love the chemistry between you!
Thanks so much Kimberly 😊 We have a great friendship and we are so happy that it comes across!
I really enjoyed the color work discussion. I haven't tried color work yet, but I will refer back to your tips when I do!
You truly brightened up this gray, dreary Sunday!!! Thanks so much!!!
Wow, what a lovely comment 😊 Merci!
Another enjoyable episode, as always. 😊 I always am so inspired by you two. Thank you!
We are always surprised to hear that we inspire others, but are grateful to hear it and to share our knowledge and love of knitting. You are welcome 😊
You two are amazing together and I so appreciate all you do!
So much fun! I love you guys. Great podcast.
Merci!

Thanks! We weren't sure if we were too chatty! Filming at night seems to make us a little punch drunk 😉
i'm binge watching your podcasts, so much fun!! i hope to visit your store or your booth in a knitting event near me one day. thank you so much.

That's a good trick as well but I seem to lose track when I put it above! So glad we can provide some good comic relief 😂

Beautiful finished objects to all the new items for the store. Another lovey podcast!
Thanks 😊

Another great podcast as always ladies!
Loved the show and the back ground is total gorgeous..
Thanks! Though we knit with neutrals we love looking at colour and to be surrounded by it 😁
Watching you gals after a great day of yarn shopping at KnitCity in Vancouver! Your sweaters are both so beautiful!
Oooh we are so jealous! Hope you had fun!
What a great way to spend my evening! Thanks! I always watch on my iPad and have my laptop on Ravelry ready to favorite a ton of what you show. I annotate the note section with what episode and time stamp. All goal knitting! Merci et passé un bon week-end😁🐑😻
Merci Karen! Thank goodness for our multiple devices 😂
Thank you for another great episode. Your sweaters are beautiful. I am off to your website for your yarn Grace.
Thanks so much! The Grace yarn is divine! I need to pick myself up some tomorrow as well!!
I find that if you put the magnet on top of the current row, you see the stitches that are in the previous row and follow as the stitches présentes themselves on your needles. I lurked this in a knit love yarn class.
You show so many beautiful projects & yarn thank you 🌻😊💕
You're most welcome 😊

Lori Biamonte I noticed that too!

Lisa, Your magnet goes on top of the line you are reading.

LOVED IT!
You nailed it this time. Very relaxed, full of info and samples, booboos and yahoos. Enjoyed the time spent with you! Cheers
Thanks Betty! We actually thought it would turn out terribly and felt very scattered, but miraculously, things came together 😂
Love the episode Lisa and Melissa! See you at Rhinebeck 💕
Favorite out-of-context Lisa quote: "If they're not knitters, you can give them the bird!" 😂
LOL!!
another great podcast :)!! I'll be coming to your shop at the end of the month with my knit group - can't wait!!!!
Thanks so much Amanda! Please let us know the exact date so we make sure that we are there! I just put a skein of your yarn that I bought at Cricket Cove in a ball to test out a new design! Now I just have to find the time 😩😂
we will be there Friday October 26th! I've already contacted Mona as well!! yeyy
Great colourwork segment! Enjoyed all the tips ~ Paige
Great to hear 😊 Thanks!

So nice to keep the connections going! Ah, what lovely memories we have from Edinburgh
Another great podcast 💜

YAY!!! You can do it and finish it in no time!! I love that expression "perfectly imperfect" 😁Thanks so much for that!
On the magnetic board I would recommend having the magnet above the chart line you're knitting so that you can see all of what you've knit. It makes it a lot easier to read your knitting.
I have tried that, but I prefer underneath:-)
What size punch needle did you use, love this
girls, you’re as lovely as ever! very enjoyable podcast...again :)
Can you tell me what is the blend you used for the mustard Ranunculus that you are wearing? Thanks so much.
Can you please tell me what you knitted your Ranunculus with? It’s not mentioned here or in your Ravelry. Thank you.. it’s beautiful:)
Love the tips on stranded color work. How did you know I would be working on a totally stranded three-color Santa pillow as I watched the podcast! Thanks so much!
"Cause we are telepathic 🤣 You are welcome!
Another great one! 😁👍
Thanks Corrinne 😊
I use highlighter post-it strips to keep track of my rows.
So. I have to know. Did you frog your Sipila??? I’m hoping the answer is no. It looked beautiful!
Lisa, I agree with Melissa, if you switch to the 4.5 mm metal needles you should be fine. You knit tight, there shouldn’t be that much increase in the gauge and it should block out fine.

I love the Knitters Pride magnetic charts!
I have to knit the ingalls sweater since that is my maiden name... hope it is not too hard.
It's a good advanced beginner project, you'll have fun Carol Ingalls 😊!!
That sounds like a good tip Yetta, thanks!
Oh! Canadienne!!!!
Melissa held up a skein of multi coloured mohair by Lichen and Lace when she was speaking about pairing it with a solid single ply in the Colorblocked Cardigan. Was that colourway Wild Flowers or Pressed Flowers?
I think it was Wild Flowers because we are sold out of Pressed Flowers. We will however be ordering more 😊
Great, thank you.
Great podcast ladies. Malissa what is the sweater you have on? What did you make it in, I love it.
Link to show notes is in drop box at top. The sweater is in the notes, along with details.
Thanks Elizabeth!
It is called Ranunculus and it is done with Silk Cloud and Tuku Fingering. You can refer to our show notes or our Ravelry project page:-)
I just took a top-down sweater class with Jennifer Steingass, the designer of many amazing stranded sweaters, aka knitlovewool, at Vogue Knitting Live SF, and she does not catch her floats!
Thanks for the feedback! That must have been a great class!
How much r the light bulb stitch makers
Rhinebeck Wristlets!!!
I’m new to your channel- I’m a sewing RUclipsr from Toronto! Knitting is my other craft I do when I need something different than sewing. :) btw, what is “pick”?
So glad you found us 😊 refers to when you wear a knitted garment and you feel the little hairs that stick out and pick you like a pin!
What is your Ranuculous knit in, I love the fabric it create. Also, love the color! Thank you!
It made me laugh when you talked about going off social media to not get distracted with all the beautiful things you could make. :>) This very podcast CAUSED me to go on social media to find out more about the beautiful ideas you've shared. I'm okay with it. :>) @friendoblu
😩 It's a double edged sword 😂
What is that beautiful mohair behind Melissa?
Liz Roblin That's the beautiful new Lichen and Lace Marsh Mohair on the top half and Hedgehog Fibers Kidsilk Lace on the bottom 😊.
Love your hair away from your beautiful face !
Aaah, thanks 😊
