Nba 2k can capture every players signature shooting style, and celebrations. why can't ea do the same for the nfl player's throwing style or running style?
I don't get it, if EA is using motion capture for Madden then why do the players move so stiff and goofy looking ... pop in the PS2 version of Madden 2002-03-04-05 and the running is smoother and more realistic ... The newer Madden they run so goofy looking, like they all had knee surgery...
You miss the point. These guys are simply capturing the way the human body moves. A computer can't tell one talent from another, all it sees is the range of motion that the little reflectors are doing in the lights/cameras. You don't need Marshawn Lynch trucking over an NFL caliber strong safety to get the basic principle of motion down. They add skill to the digital players after; Different speed, acceleration, agility, strength, awareness, carrying, etc. in each player.

They hadn't added the new data from their 3D studio to the animation models... Anyway, its sad how all gamers can do is complain about Madden. They can't take it for what it is, a video game. No. Look at what 2k football brought. More realism more fun more features better realistic animations and playing style. Also EA brought the right for football games where only they could make it so no to being thankful
true but the i do like how they do one on one drills and just see who wins that battle they should use more of that for all position while having about 50 ppl for motion capture..cant go wrong with variety

Because NFL players are bound by multi-million dollar contracts. The last thing their team owners (their employers) want is their player (worth millions) getting hurt in some 3D arena. All it takes is one wrong move to blow your knee, shoulder or back. If they're gonna get hurt, its going to be in an NFL game.
EA Sports should use this motion capture to create different running animations for every player.... Everyone should not RUN THE SAME ON MADDEN 25 !!!!

Yep. Just think: If EA didn't buy the NFL License we'd probably see 2K & EA go at it year after year, being just THAT much more tentative to their game's because they want to out do the other. We'd probably see something crazy like every game being broadcasted differently (Monday games on ESPN, Thursday ones on NBC, Sundays on either CBS, NBC or FOX etc.) as well as better gameplay & a deeper/richer experience in franchise modes and/or MyPlayer/Superstar modes. EA is ruining NFL video games.
i was a huge madden fan. Use to play it as a kid on the n64..but for some reason, they last 2 years. Have gotten worse. Dont know what it is. Doesnt seem real. Hopefully this one will be better. By the looks not really.

There should be different talent that represent different height/weight classes for each position. You only see about 6 guys in this video. There's not enough difference between the characters on screen because they don't account for it in motion capture. Everyone looks/plays the same. Terrible foundation on which terrible gameplay sits.
Why not use real players? When it comes to hitting animation, they can use those stunt players to do that. But why not use NFL players to capture their runs, jukes, cuts, catches, even facial expressions.

Saw a lot of tackling... but no WR/DB 1 on 1's, and no OL/DL interactions. The tackling in madden is fine, it's everything else that sucks!
