It's funny how the Roadkill is "Yeah its kind of a Leman Russ, but it's based off a real tank, so it might be coincidence", but then the mobile artillery is "That's literally just a Basilisk". The High tier drop is basically a space marine one as well.
The marshal is worth it just for it's ability to outrange the inferno and plasma turrets on mechanoid clusters while not counting as a "high" projectile like a mortar.
The Badger is INSANE in Combat Expanded. It kills a centipede in a couple of shots, and it's automatic. Really makes you feel like you're in that Bradley vs T-90 video
The video where 2 bradleys completely fail to actually penetrate the armor of the T-90 and the crew is able to evac despite point blank TOW and autocannon mag dumps? I take it the centipede had its optics shot out and limped home?

You are fighting either Tribals, Mechanoids, or dudes behind you in a century If you are the only one capable of building a Spacecraft, its kinda of normal for you to be the only one to be able to create vehicles
I am so glad I am subbed to Noobert lol.. Probably would have missed these mods for months as I don't check workshop often, but omg the ability to effectively raid better and dominate regions of the planet sounds like such a fun play through.
Personally i just take the Bulldog tier 2 tank and you can make an escort of a light car like a Bangbus to dismount pawns with Assault Rifles and a few Minigunners to cover it from close targets. Really felt good to liberate nearby tribe camps from their pemmican and chocolate. This mod is amazing and i like the idea of balance on this one. I never use Tier 3 and never ever touched any aircraft, but Upgrades sure are fire - they make Tier 1 vehicles into very capable multi-roles, and will expand to Tier 2 making them best specialized vehicles. All vehicles are viable this way.
Well if u do that just use srts and there is a mod for srts that add bombs and many modern aerial vehicles, from small to big, and many of them can drop bombs
But if you get a 'legally distinct from a Huey' can you get a door gun for it? Be a real shame if not, every Huey adjacent vehicle deserves it's own door gun(s).
Nice, the Louie is pretty obviously a Vietnam era Huey. I was in ROTC back in college for 2 years, and we had a training exercise at Fort Indian Town Gap. The PA National Guard was doing 'touch and go' landings*, and after our training we got asked if we wanted to take a flight back to campus instead of the van. This was back in '87, and the copters were all ones that had served in Viet Nam. Very cool trip back to campus. The crew that I flew with had all served between '69-'73. I can tell you right now, any movie or TV show that shows people talking without a head, is full of crap. Those things are LOUD. Even with a headset, it was hard to hear. *They would put the rotors in neutral so the copters would glide in, touch the ground, then reenage the rotors and lift off.
I wish there was a mod thst revamps raids Instead of 200 raiders on your 10 colonists It should have the limit of upwards to double your colonist number and the wealth should be about the same as 25% of your colony Therefore less raiders but with more op armor
There is a mod out there, Compressed Raids iirc, that basically changes the raid logic so it weighs towards heavier units in a raid's buy options instead of the basic ones.

I recently started using the Dead Mans Switch mod with its vehicle addon. Having 2 main battle tanks with MGs and large explosive turrets as a main gate defense is really nice. I don't even need traps or a kill box. I just have a giant path leading in. Plus, I can run over enemy pawns and kill them. Lol

as fun as the t3 vehicle system sounds... ingame it is ungodly obnoxious by virtue of how you ACTUALLY repair vehicles like that, and the significantl shopping list you have to have just laying around on the off chance that you actually FIND a t3 randomly
One of the bigger downsides for sure, yeah. I think you're guaranteed to have 1-2 T3s on your home tile but they can be doubled up or something that isn't as useful for you in the short term. Even if you're going the full nomad vehicles route, getting the self-propelled artillery could be a detriment at the start compared to the ice truck.
Think this is the first time I ever noticed a lack of background music. Not a bad thing. But just had a 'Huh' Moment Though certainly had my fun with this Mod. Allmost trivialized my Caravan gameplay but when it was just me getting rid of 'a bajillion rocks and random things' it made it sure as hecc easier to haul booty and corpses
Just an FYI, when the Goliath drop pod lands its more in the dynamic entry sort of way. Got one rebuilt and sent it back to my colony to land on my landing pad, the explosion from the fuel pumps exploding was quite spectacular.
I've been using the pelican dropship from Helldivers myself. 4 passengers plus the pilot for a total of 5 pawn and a stupidly high cargo capacity of 12,000 kg. I may have gone on a bit of a raiding spree when I found that out
How do the air vehicles work for attack runs? Do you call out targets for them or is there a special order set for the pawns in the aircraft? (as I imagine they'd be off-screen alot)
I don't remember if it's still updated or not, but I recall an old mod prior to the Anomaly update that made a good addition to the roster, known as the Snowcrawler mod. Basically it was an off-roader vehicle specialized for colder biomes, and really fit the nice vibe of the the rest of the T2s.
For a lot of those, it's a 'it depends' sorta situation. Far as passengers go, some vehicle seats are essentially a cover value iirc, and vehicles also have facing values factored in as a default mechanic as well (Roadkills are far more vulnerable to small arms from the back for example). Fire is a factor to keeping vehicles safe but I forget to the degree of the volatility you have to worry about, most likely depending on the part. Can't say squat for CE tho, I don't use it.

@@alecciarosewater7438 I'm a religious user of CE, the answer is very much yes. The vehicles interact very well with the ballistic systems. Gunners can be completely eviscerated when hit with armor piercing shells, pretty realistic if you ask me.

How do I use the helicopters? When I have everything loaded, fueled, and pawn set as pilot. but when I hit launch I can't land anywhere? like I can click on the map and it makes a line but does nothing else even when I push enter or other buttons?
I tried using the vehicles from the mod, but with combat extended at least,t he scytheman is very precise, unlike on your video, and the flamethrower tank shoots very short on target
Also the vehicles made for fighting really suck at it, autoturret, and shotguns can knock out every vehicle quite easily, the range is terrible to say at least. Until you have a lot of pawns to act as infantry support the armoured vehicles and tanks will get demolished by mele fighters
The combat vehicles are not that great, to be perfectly honest - even higher tier tanks have comparably weak armour that won't stop any reasonable small arms fusillade - and their firepower is usually not worth the micro, if I'm being honest. From tier 1 - I am fond of a Mule especially - it makes early trade runs viable. Toad is also great - a re-usable 4 man drop pod with decent cargo space - a reliable and effective way of getting in and out - though it is a fuel guzzler. Tier 2 - Roadrunner is an upgraded Mule, plain and simple - a very cost-efficient transport vehicle. Tango - autocannon is... OK. Armour is reasonable as far as vehicles go. Good troop capacity, reasonable cargo capacity. Decent raid vehicle that can survive some heat. Wisent - probably the best troop delivery vehicle there is. Good troop capacity, reasonably fast, not exactly bullet-proof, but will not die of a stray shot or two, and very good cargo capacity. Perfect for armed caravans, or raids against resource sites. Tier 3 - this is where you get some of the best vehicles out there. The tank, APC and AFV are where my problems with vehicles come into play - you get the maximum of 92% armour with the Paladin, and slightly less with Marshal - this is... not exactly very good - not at the later stages of the game. So called frontline vehicles that do not really do well in actual combat. Nomad - IMO the best land vehicle around for general purpose trade and caravaning. 4 people capacity, reasonably durable, fast, works well even off road and has good cargo capacity for what it is. Next in line is a Big Rig - you need to transport a monstrous amount of resources for whatever reason? This is the best land vehicle for the job, period. Hermano - gimmicky vehicle for situations when you want to trade large quantities of perishables - not particularly great... BUT it has decent cargo capacity even for general purpose. Next in line are flyers - they are generally good, if you can deal with their fuel consumption and relative jankiness when landing on freshly generated maps. Louie - the best general purpose helicopter - can transport good amount of troops (which makes it safe) and good amount of cargo. Cherokee - a flying Big Rig - plain and simple - you want to transport a metric ton of gear or materials? This is your machine. Goliath - honestly, I don't like it. It is too cumbersome in comparison to the Toad, and its cargo capacity is just not good enough when you have far more convenient helicopters around. And again - at the stage you get it... The turrets are unlikely to do much, and gunners are probably better off on foot in actual combat.

The only vehicle I tend to use is the smuggler. nice fuel economy and decent cargo.

From my experience the land and water vehicles worked great but the air one is finnicky to use. I prefer SRTS for the air vehicle.

Click on your settlement and instead of making a normal caravan, press vehicle caravan

Louie - the best general purpose helicopter - can transport good amount of troops (which makes it safe) and good amount of cargo.
Cherokee - a flying Big Rig - plain and simple - you want to transport a metric ton of gear or materials? This is your machine.
Goliath - honestly, I don't like it. It is too cumbersome in comparison to the Toad, and its cargo capacity is just not good enough when you have far more convenient helicopters around.
And again - at the stage you get it... The turrets are unlikely to do much, and gunners are probably better off on foot in actual combat.
But how do you leave the map?
You use the form vehicle caravan button on the world map :)

with the mod installed, it should give you the option to form "Vehicle caravan", and then pick a vehicle and assign its ocupants.
Note single vehicle is recommended. The mod doesn’t play well with multi vehicle caravans. Its technically doable, but there are issues. Not worth it.

Ngl but vehicles feel so underpowered. It feels even worse on CE. The fact that rifles can penetrate Marshal tank is just sad imo.
