    I'm curious, does melt and pour soap sell as well as cold process soap? I've always made cold process soap, so I have no sense to the specifics of melt and pour. Your video showed up in my RUclips queue, so I decided to have a look. I was amazed, so I watched a few more videos, lol! I found it fascinating. You sure make some beautiful soap. After you open the package to use a bar doesn't it sweat like crazy? Like I said, I dont know. I use small amounts of the cold process melt and pour (low sweat) to make embeds for my soap tops, but that is the extent of my knowledge. Thanks if you answer my questions. They probably sound a little simple minded, but I couldn't help but ask a pro.

      Hi Jill! Believe it or not, I got lots more sales with my glycerin than with the CP. I wasn’t in the natural genre much, so maybe that’s why? People like eye catching colors, but every now and then I would have someone request something without color. Most of my bulk orders and international orders (pre 2012) were for the glycerin. That was when it was still cheap to ship international. Also, soap making as a career, at that time, was still at its early stages. Before 2012 it cost $1.50 o ship a bar overseas. After 2012, the laws changed, and the cost to ship went up to $33 for (1) 4 oz. bar. It killed my business (then Desert Soapstone). Check the laws though. Trade is getting better. Craft fairs are out for now, but once they resume it will be awesome for colorful soaps. Now is a great time to start because its only going to get better. I have had great success with party favors and wedding soaps.

    I don't understand why the clear base would oxidize like that, shouldn't remain clear?

      It’s because I did not use vanilla stabilizer and the vanilla turns brown.

    When you sell these soaps to customers, do you explain to them the after care of using these soaps. That it will sweat and must be wrapped up. Do you put it on the label

    • @OakleafandOcotillo
      @OakleafandOcotillo  6 месяцев назад +1

      No. You can though. People new to glycerin soap will need that explained. Summertime is the worst for glycerin beads. It’s always good idea to give more than less if you want happy customers.
