This actually makes a lot of sense. Like you said, he jumped off a cliff to save his friends front tooth. Mike is the kind of person to risk his own life to save someone. I’m thinking he would risk his life to save Eleven or someone else that he really, really cares about.

I heard another theory saying that maybe wills painting was foreshadowing the “large creature with a gaping mouth” that Nancy saw in her visions. She also said that she saw her whole family dead, so what if that creature Nancy saw is the one Mike has to sacrifice himself to? It would make sense because Mike was the one fighting it in the painting

One problem with your theory is that when the duffers pushed back against the lack of prominent character deaths, they specifically said that killing Mike (for example, which I took to mean that killing other main characters) would be too depressing. And as far as I was aware Finn correctly guessed the spin-off premise NOT the end of the main show.

Here's my season 5 theory:
Nancy mentioned that four gates kept growing, while destroying hawkins and that's what ends up happening. And the mind flayer and other monsters leak out in the real world. Then she mentioned her mom, holly, and mike but didn't say what happened to them including mike. If this all happened the gates growing, hawkins get destroyed, and the monsters coming out, then that means something bad will happen to mike, holly, and their mom. But I'm praying and hoping they don't die in season. Also I'm a mike fan so I really don't want to see mike wheeler die in stranger things season 5, if something bad does happen to mike, let's have him losing an arm or i don't know maybe an eye.
That could be true because Will said he is the heart, what if his death helps Eleven to be stronger. Kali said to used her anger to make her strong that is why she move the train and closed the gate.

This makes so much sense! also another piece of evidence is that when vecna was sharing the visions to nancy in 4x08, she said that vecna showed her karen, holly, and mike and the were all dead. She specifically said,"...and then, he showed me my mom, and holly, mike and they... they were all." and then steve said,"okay but hes just trying to scare you nance."

Remember, Vecna showed Nancy all her family dead including Mike and some other events that already happened so we have to assume that will happen to which will give Eleven the anger and drive but also will be the most heart-breaking death of the entire show. Hope they plan it right!
I think Vecna just showed Nancy parents dead just to freak her out and scare her. I don't think her family is going to die That would be to depressing. Personally I think Will could die or become the next villain.

It would not make sense as Will is a giant part of the hivemind, and I think him dying would close the upside-down and hurt Vecna AND Will says in season 2 that Vecna does not want to hurt him. I think Will will sacrifice himself, there's no way he's coming out this alive.

I said it a few times under your videos about Suzie's home and Mike being shot with this arrow... so yes I do agree with you 😉 I'm not sure if he will die, but at least this scene means he will be a target. And Vecna will be stupid not to use him or take him as an hostage to reach El but also Will ! I'm sure this plot about Will being gay and in love with Mike is not there with no reason... it can be a good reason for Vecna to play with his feelings I think... Plus he would reach Nancy as well ! However, I believe more in El or/and Will's deaths, but Mike can totally be a target !

Mike will definetely die. Remember what Nancy said at Eddie's trailer: "they were all.. (dead)" Mike being included. Also it is convenient because Mike is Eleven and Will's love interest. If he were to die, this would bring intense emotions in both of them necessary to kill Vecna out of revenge. Will was compared to Vecna too.. so it wouldn't surprise me if he had powers and helped Eleven kill vecna and the monsters. Sorry for my english i'm from Argentina:)

Will I do believe will be the sacrifice for Eleven to get the rage she needs to battle Vecna. She will have to channel dark energy to defeat Vecna. Vecna will take Will’s life and Mike powers will take affect from the hurt from Will’s death will trigger his dark energy. Boom! You on to something!!

okey im writing this comment now just to pin this down somewhere but i really think mike is gonna die because we need a kind of character development for him. if the duffer brothers and the cast have confirmed that season 5 is going to be season 1 but bigger, that means mike will finally return to sacrifice even his life for his friends after this period of confusion and thinking about who he is. i missed many points and i will add them if i need to.
so that's it, maybe when I'll finally watch and finish season 5, im going to come back here and see if the things that i wrote are really important and true.

When she explained what she saw, she said there were monsters everywhere, Hawkings got destroyed and said that she also saw Mike and her sister dead. You might be thinking: ''oh well he just did that to scare her right?''while that is true, all of the events she mentions HAPPENNED and she even said that it was going to happen in the future. I am not completely sure if he can predict the future and wether this is canon but tell me what you think!

It totally depends on what actors want to return but I think 008 could be apart of that army… only time can tell though. Hopefully I can come up with more theories surrounding that topic

My Theory: Mike has a 90 percent of dying. If he dies it makes the show more viral. Besides, Eleven risked her WHOLE life for Her friends, and Mike. So if Eleven was hurt and a monster like Vecna or The dragon were so close to killing her Mike would jump out in front of her, RISKING HIS LIFE to save El. I do think mike will die in season 5 of stranger things. heres why:
in wills painting of the 3 headed dragon in season 4, mike was in the front. the person in the front usually always dies first. and, in season 4 when the kids went to susie's house, there were a lot of younger kids there and everything that was there actually happened. so, i think everything is being forshadowed on what is going to happen in season 5. basicially, mike was painted in the front of will's painting, and i think the person in the front usually dies first, and if mike dies, i think that will give eleven enough strength to beat vecna once and for all. but, it would still be heartbreaking if mike died because he is my favorite character. also, in nancy's vision, she saw her whole family dead, and usually what happens in everyones visions in the show usually happens. mike would also be the person to sacrifice himself for eleven or his other friends and family.

Nancy had that vision that Hawkins was destroyed. She correctly described all of it super well. Her vision came true expect the part where, Holly, Mike, and Karen died. I think they all will die. It’s obvious that Mike is going to die. Will and Eleven already know. I think that’s why Will was crying in the van. Not because he’s got sexual feelings for Mike lol. I think the Duffers are going to shock us all with this because everyone thinks Will is “in love” with Mike. I think he’s just confused about his sexuality and really cares about his friends.

Yep. I agree with all this 100. IMO the younger viewers tend to enjoy ignoring the time point of Stranger Things in regards to the way people handled things socially back in the day. Stranger Things is set in the mid 80s in rural middle America not 2023 lol. People were not as open minded about things back in the day. People kept to themselves especially in terms of homosexuality. Meaning the way the Duffer Brothers are handling Will's (gay) plot is 100% on point for the time period.

Hate to burst your bubble here, but I just wanted you to have all of the info. Finn actually correctly predicted the Stranger Things spinoff plot, NOT the ending of the show as far as I know of. Also, the Duffers literally said in an interview that they had explored all of the character death options in the writers’ room and they even used Mike as an example in the quote, but his name was followed by a “well, that’s depressing, we can’t do that,” so it seems like Mike has officially been ruled out considering that this was a recent interview! That being said, I genuinely thought it might be Mike or El for a long time. Now I’m leaning towards El or Will, most likely, and probably Murray bc of the B last name thing. I wish no one would die🥲
I've been thinking that El and Mike are probably safe, at the end season 1 Dustin complains that their D&D campaign was too short and questions what happened to the “Lost Knight and the proud Princess.” I believe that they had also defeated the giant creature depicted in Wills painting and mentioned by Nancy after Vecna showed her the future, a future in which Mike is already dead.
I believe we will be tricked into thinking Mike and El will die in season 5 but I think it is more likely they survive. That being said if you kill one of them I think you have to kill them both, because I think they would rather die than live without each other.
