I want to know why suddenly I don’t recognize my mailman. There’s three or four different ones. None of them wear a uniform. They just had the big bag strapped over them delivering mail and half the time we receive someone else’s, which makes me wonder how much am I not getting of my own mail. What the hell is happening?

Perhaps Congress should look at privatizing mail delivery. USPS has done a good job, but it may be that the job has simply gotten too big for them to handle without constant budget problems, rising prices and appeals to Congress for more and more money every year. Much of their budget is for administration costs, which worsens as a company grows larger.

Some of their issues is due to their pension system. The postal workers are treated different than any other governmental body which adds to the cost.

The problem is Dejoy, has been purposely slowing down the mail so that the USPS can be privatized. That’s why he was appointed by Trump in his first term, Dejoy has ties the companies that are in line to buy and strip down the post office.

Walk into your local (big city especially) USPS office. Take a good look around at the people's salaries and pensions you're paying by force - without any signs of accountability or performance

The Post Office is self funded.
It got funding in the 20’s, for new vehicles in that were issued during the 80’s.
Otherwise, pensions and salaries are funded by the service itself.

There are many areas where USPS is intending to close post offices. These are often rural areas. The people in these areas depend on their postal mail, not only for regular mail and deliveries from businesses, but medical supplies. Many elders in these areas are not mobile. The mail is their only way to obtain these medicines without undue hassle. Many people do not pay their bills online. It makes for trouble when your bills arrive AFTER they are due. I pay my bills online, but receive paper bills for my records. Many many times those bills arrive AFTER the bill's due date, but are postmarked several days to two weeks earlier. We must always remember that our own circumstances are NOT everyone's circumstances. People have challenges we might not have.

Congress is complicit in Israel's genocide in Gaza. Congress is indifferent to human suffering.
