Hey Scooter great to see you back :-) The weather is Crap here in England! I haven't flown my Kitfox in ages...looking forward to Spring, thanks for helping with an aviation fix on this blustery wet British January Evening !
Hey there! I just wanted to say how thrilled I am that I was able to assist you in some way. A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of flying a Kitfox out in the beautiful BLM land in California. It was such an amazing experience and I had a blast! If you keep following our channel, you'll start seeing the Kitfox making appearances in our videos come springtime. So, keep an eye out! Clear skies to you and I hope you'll get the chance to fly soon too!
@@GreatMichiganBushCo Your channel is a little gem It always puts a smile on my face 🙂 you're good at what you do, I know it's a lot of work, but please keep it up, as It's much appreciated, and I am sure I speak for all of your subscribers when I say this👍. If you find yourself in Dorset England look me up, I would love to take you up farm strip flying and sightseeing, we don't have your amazing beautiful wilderness, but we have some very pretty countryside and fascinating History, Stonehenge is a short flight away from where I am based, and we have numerous castles, prehistoric earthworks and stately homes that we can overfly. I look forward to seeing the Kitfox footage! PS Dont sell Blue and get a cub, (as much as I love a cub), Blue is a very special aeroplane 😊
I fly as off as I can and I'll keep posting videos. Thanks for watching. In the past I've had disqualifying events with my medical and have been able to return to the air. I wish you the same luck I've had.
I'm really looking forward to some fun summer flying. I'm hoping to get a trip or two in. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone flying this summer, can't wait. Thanks?
I really like the videos like this and the type of flying you do. Since Ieve only been flying my Cardinal for almost a year, Im still learning all of her capabilities. (177B). It would bereally cool to meet up with you guys sometime. I out of RMY. Give me shout sometime. Dan
Thanks for the invite, Dan! Breakfast at Owosso sounds like a blast. Definitely keep an eye out for those last-minute flyouts on the Great Michigan Bush Co. Facebook group. Can't wait to meet up and fly together sometime! Keep on soaring 🛩🌅
@@Alfaspiderman84 Joe and Leeanne do a great job there. The airport has as much activity as a 1980's GA airport and it's all through their hard work to bring local community to the airport.
Welcome back Scooter! I always enjoy your adventures! Watching you fly your Stinson in your previous videos moved me to get my own Stinson 108-2 for my first airplane . So I Thank you for that! Hope to visit the Great Michigan Bush someday! ~ Chuck
I am spreading the disease, I love it! Thanks for watching and I hope to fly with you some day Chuck. Where are you located? We travel and will go out of our way to fly with friends.
@@GreatMichiganBushCo I fly out of 6CM in Centerburg Ohio, near Columbus. A sweet little grass strip. I’m almost past a long annual as well, and should be flying again soon. ( fingers crossed)!
Did you have to do cylinders? Columbus isn't very far away, we've been looking at a couple of airports in that direction. The Ohio Bush pilots fly dowb that way and have some great locations.
@@GreatMichiganBushCo No cylinders. We’ve been chasing down an issue where she fires right up, runs smooth, but we can’t get over 2000 rpm static. Spoke with a couple of Franklin gurus and we think we have it figured out. I’m having the prop overhauled and re-pitched from 7653 to 7650, so that will help. The main problem has to do with the timing gear that’s on the crank. Could be a half a tooth off. I’m glad it’s winter. Should be golden before spring.
@@chuckbeyer6679 That timing gear can be a bear. It's almost impossible to diagnose because everything looks correct. I hope that's your problem and you can find a good gear.
Happy to see ya back! Michigan weather has sucked for flying the last 6 weeks! Looking forward to getting back in the cockpit Saturday. If I hear ya on freq, I’ll say hi. Hope you’re doing well!
Love the videos. Great choice on the helmet. I still get weird about putting mine on also for some reason (It’s a Sky Cowboy Supply type), but the evidence makes sense that it wouldn’t take much of a low speed impact to our noggins to render us useless… despite how hard headed we’ve been told we are. 😂 AvWeb (and a few others) have done a great job bringing the topic up in the last year or two.
I find it funny how folks flying for $100 hamburgers, don't understand the type of flying other pilots might be doing and how more safety equipment might be prudent.
Isn't that the truth? I've not found many 800 foot paved runways or even 800 foot soda runways that were well manicured and rolled. It's always a short, soft takeoff, and sometimes it's just us a soft takeoff.
@@StraightTail56 Don't worry if you missed it, it looks like a lot of people did. Unfortunately, RUclips didn't promote it to as many people as we had hoped. Thanks for watching! And don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions or if there's anything else we can assist you with.
I went flying Monday, avoiding the icing areas shown in ForeFlight; posted my video yesterday. This weather reminds me that I'd like to get some hard IFR during this lousy weather. If you have an IFR aircraft available and you're interested, let me know.
I really try to stay out a hard IFR in a single engine land airplane. Every time I ate it up there it was because of a prior mistake and the need for a pop down IFR clearance. I'm glad I stay current but it's almost always done in the simulated conditions. I'm really a wussy pilot.
Scooter making it look easy 😊
Great to see you back buddy!
The GMBCo. needs to set up a flyout to MN. So many curve balls tossed into the mix the past couple of years. This summer no excuses.
Love the helmet!!! Don't give it up.
Welcome back!
It's great to be back!

Listening to that AWOS sounds like a typical winter day in Seattle! I'd fly in that too.
It was good VFR and improving.
Thumbs up for the helmet 👍. (And the flying obviously)
Thanks. We need some more support for wise choices in this industry. Glad you understand.

Great to see you back on RUclips Scooter. Don't listen to that General Grant guy. 🙂 You need to keep flying a Stinson!
That begs the question. Have you ever flown a cub? I really like the Stinson but a Super Cub just might be the home wreck of airplanes.
Glad to see you back!
The helmet is a weird choice.
We fly differently. They make us wear them at the STOL competitions for a reason. Seems smart to follow suit when practicing for them.
Great video! So noice to see them again
Alton Bay?
@@GreatMichiganBushCo hell yes! just as soon as it freezes
It’s been a nice mild winter here in Michigan. Managed to have my Stinson up a couple of times this week. Hopefully I’ll run into you one of these.

Thanks for watching the video. There will be more content. It's really great to be flying again.
Scooter rides again!! yay!
I should have looked for a free version of "Ride of the Valkyries" and used it in the video. Thanks for watching.
Was that a short field takeoff, or a soft field takeoff? Answer: yes.

Right on! What’s the shortest you’ve been able to land it?
170' is my short with the 108. I think I had a little help from the wind.
What kind of helmet is that? I like it

Wear the helmet, people make fun of what they don’t want to do when it comes to safety.
Yeah, low speed accidents happen quickly in a tailwheel. Taking a dash to the head doesn't sound fun.
I know the feeling! It’s an addiction. Thanks for the videos.
Thank you for the videos Brad. Looking forward to seeing more of your extensive adventures.
