Absolutley appaling to say its come from main dealer. You are 100% right to demand your hard earned money back my friend. I wish you all the best in getting your satisfaction. We put our trust in buying from mercedes benz and some crafty manager tries to pull your pants down too bloody right you want your money back.
Uk consumer law states that the dealer has to disclose any major accident repairs to you when you buy the car. If they do not you can demand a full refund. Tell this dealer if they don't take the car back and give you a refund you will sue them and inform trading standards.
it's a shame the dealership is so shady. In America, we have something call Carfax that will give you a vehicle history that may help. Sorry to hear about your situation. I will take your advice and inspect my next car carefully even from a MB dealership.
The worse thing is this year a lot of car are under water for weeks during hurricane Harvey in Texas. Most vehicle well dry in a couple weeks or months and lots of them still start/run if not short circuit and can be sold as use car and all the circuit board in the computer system well "oxidize" and body itself well rust inside out. Not even the dealer well know if the owner use it for trade-in. Fortunately those cars under Katrina hurricane before was under Sea water discolor the whole dashboard and computer circuit board got corroded real quick.
He bought this from an official Mercedes dealer not one of those private ones. In UK you can get second hand ones from Mercedes. They call them "approved used cars" and they're sold next to the new ones. This guy is making this video because even this little error is very rare at an approved car dealership. In UK used cars are in very good condition, not sure about USA.
what about a private painting job? which this probably was as mercedes picked it up, sprayed it, sold it... so unless it goes through insurance it wouldn't show up on carfax
I'm delighted you took them all the way on this. They are a multi national company making millions. Customer service should be their number one priority. Well done and enjoy your new car my friend!
for all the people saying he should have used Carfax or something similar they are not always right...they only show information on accidents and maintenance that was reported. if your a home mechanic and do all repairs yourself it would show up as having no history of repairs or maintenance done anywhere, or if you get into an accident for instance, the accident wouldn't show up if you never made a claim, if you just went to a private shop and paid to get it fixed then the Carfax would still show no accident history. Carfax is ok but its easy to work around it if you really want too.
SaskatchewanBadAss yes carfax is only for reported accidents not accidents that have not been reported say a car is damaged at the lot. the dealership can just fix it up and sell it as new and not lose money on the car.
idiots; if the repair was so small it didn't show up on carfax it was too small to worry about. And only a double idiot would drive a Mercedes without a warranty anyway..
SaskatchewanBadAss your right I haves seen so many cases at my friends body shop where they get cars that have been in minor gender benders to fully wrecked cars with no insurance customers pay out of pocket since they hands no other way and the have clean car fax reports
Here in California cars with over X dollar amount of damage have to be reported to DMV. That plus the mild climate makes CA cars a pretty safe bet when used and not older than whenever that law was put in place. If a used car here is from out of state best to avoid unless its entire history has been here.
Wow!😱 I thought it was only me! I feel for you sir. I had a similar issue with Mercedes Benz too. I pray that you have a speedy resolution, and compensation from the dealership. I have now switched to Audi, and haven't experienced any issues at all. *Vorsprung durch Technik!*
How would he? Guy is not en expert and doesn't know what to look for. Would you know how to argue a case in court not knowing the law and procedures? Doubt it.
EES80 an expert? He's been buying mercs for years. He surely has a clue! Also he's spotted the botch repairs now... What about before? You don't need to be an expert.
You're being stupid. Someone buying from Mercedes shouldn't need to inspect anything. We should be able to trust Mercedes with closed eyes otherwise what distinguishes them from the gypsies round the corner, just the suits they wear?
You are quite correct sir, if i had purchased that particular vehicle I would be asking for a full refund. The future resale value of the car will be significantly reduduced due to the cosmetic paint repairs. Hope things work out well for you.
It takes a certain "character type" to be a car salesman, to know that you must lie to the customers face and be o.k. with that! The same goes for politicians, lawyers etc!
Not every sales man lies, many do, but some are honest, the trick is to find a reputable dealer with integrity and still of course check any car over very carefully.
Paid 34000 for a 9 month old C Class Coupe from dealership in the Midlands. Reverse camera didn't work also the boot lid would get stuck constantly. Took it back x3 on the 4th time I demanded a new car or my cash back. Got a nearly new car, 3 years alloy insurance and was told that I shouldn't of been sold the first car due to it being riddled with problems from the word go and Mercedes couldn't find the problem. Somebody lost their job for selling me a dud motor may I add that's how serious this issue was no kidding. Point being if you green behide the ears like I was these people will have your pants down and hope you'll just go away.
thanks very much for showing this on RUclips I just sold my C class Mercedes five days ago and I am looking for another one it's from the same garage I would never go back there again
I had the same experience with Jaguar of Hull, I paid £24500 for a used xj6 they offered to buy it back for market value £18000 even Jaguar customer care refused to help. All customer care and pre-sale checks just bullshit.
And what will happen to this car that you returned? Will it be repaired properly before being resold again? LOLOLOLOLOL As if. The overspray will be taken care of (maybe) and they'll sell it to some other unsuspecting sucker who thinks a Mercedes dealer would never scam them.
You raised a very valid point and the main dealers these days very often don’t serve the customers who care about the company but to rip you off if they can. Did they refund you the money?
I feel your pain. I've been buying vans from Mercedes for the past 10 years. The vehicles from new are great but the dealer service is appalling, I definitely wouldn't buy a used Mercedes commercial vehicle or car, the dealers just can't be trusted unfortunately.
I had an e-class back in 2004.that was my 4th mercedes..Major rust issues which I gave to Mercedes Greenoaks in Slough to sort out under goodwill. They gave the car to R&C Motor Company to correct with all 4 new doors and front wings and the arches were repaired. 6 months later the rust appeared again on the new wings and I had to give the car back in again! When I got the car back the first time the central locking on the doors would unlock when going round corners. I gave it back to them and later found out they just packed ordinary rubber bands in the lock pins! BOTH times I got the car the wheel bolts were loose or missing and after driving down the road 2-3 miles I got a knocking noise and realised the bolts were loose or missing. One wheel only had 3 of the 5 bolts on! Then shortly after I wanted the loose gear level stick problem sorted out with a simple washer. They phoned me and said the gearbox was gushing oil out. It had no leak when given in. £2000 bill later I drove out with still an oil leak on the gearbox which they charged me another £350 to sort out even though they removed gearbox to sort out original leak. That was the last Mercedes I bought....Moved to VW and had loads of great cars...but now in the emissions scandal mess. Cant trust any dealer!
Very low for a Mercedes dealership to do this to a customer. Very poor repair work. I use a BMW panel shop in Perth and most of the times you wont pick that its been repaired
I don't see how anyone can disagree. If you're happy to accept things in off condition after paying your hard earned money then so be it but let the man live! I'd be exactly the same, you don't buy a premium car from the authorised dealers and expect half arsed jobs! N that's the top n bottom line. It doesn't matter if it's second hand, if they're advertising it correctly then you can make the decision if you want it. Not to be mislead in thinking it's immaculate because you can buy private and get cars in like new condition. It's just not on. And to everyone saying why didn't he see this before, well when you're buying from the rep you sometimes overlook as you feel you're buying with confidence we've all done it with different things, don't act like you've never used a receipt! Hope you got it sorted out
Ring the BBC, Don't get done, get Dom. Let them action this situation for you, Mercedes don't want bad press trust me. Good Luck with everything, hope it gets sorted.🙏
Mercedes is not what the brand used to be. I had an E320 CDi Estate from new, and every time there was a chip in the paintwork, it rusted. I don't think it could have been galvanised. Never had that problem with my Ford, or Toyota, nor Mazda.
Malick, feel sorry for you from other side of atlantic. My point is how did you not noticed these issues before buying.? It is a blatantly "lemon" in US standard. you should return the lemon and get full refund. I doubt any US dealership will hide these kind of problems from the potential customers. Good luck.
I knew a guy who is the first owner of BMW 3 series. He has problem in getting into reverse and BMW could not solve the problem. He conveniently hike it off to a used car dealer. Guess who is going to inherit this problem. The next buyer.
I believe it. If you get a new BMW and I'm only saying this to help people, go for the 7 speed auto its really good. The manual is very sticky and I test drove one and the pedals are really offset to the right engaging the clutch is like pressing where the brake should be felt very unusual having driven many old manual cars!
Unfortunately main dealers in the UK are now getting into this kind of fraud. They will have leased vehicles crash damaged and returned with relatively low mileage. They then get the body shop to 'fix' it up and put it on the used car lot. When buying and you ask if it's been involved in a crash they will lie to you every time. They will say it was pre-registered by the dealership, ex-demonstrator, returned on lease etc.Just walk away. Take the reg and go to another brand dealer, give them the reg and ask for the manufacturer repair record.
I have an new SL on order which I pick up in three weeks. Its my first time with Mercedes after 25 years of great service from BMW and my local dealer so it is a step in to the unknown. But if i get any issues, I will be straight on to MB UK if Synter of Swindon don't provide the service that i expect
I feel your pain bro Mercedes dealers are the worst when it comes to after service. The only customer they care about is someone buying there over priced new s class and above. I love Mercedes cars but got treat so rudely by there dealership that I took my hard earned money to Lexus where I get treated like a paying customer
Thank you for sharing this. I am sorry about your dilemma. Totally flabbergasted by this appalling service. Here is my promise. I have saved your video and when buying my next Mercedes will take it with me and make staff and manager watch it with me before I put my money down. Please let us know regarding the outcome. Thank you.
I was wondering how long you had the vehicle because you have a 30 day return policy with Mercedes, and after 30 days but less or within 6 months you can still reject the vehicle. I had a problem with my Mercedes and they had me take the car back six times eventually I rejected the car because I felt the car was damaged also their was a question In relation to the number of owners , anyway Mercedes bought the car back from me and reimbursed me for all my out of pocket expenses, it wasnt easy but I got my money back . good luck mate .
Had the same Problem with Mercedes Benz of Anchorage Alaska. Car had been repainted, in previous accident. door was crooked, major wind noise water leaks and the list goes on... I had fought with them for months about the many problems. I even had them take it to their body shop and it was then revealed that it was wrecked. Now I was told, the car was not wrecked, it was previously repaired. it is still wrecked if it was not repaired properly. The Body shop told me it could be upwards of 8K to fix it properly and they added... dont get it fixed. RUN! Mercedes finally bought it back. When they took it back from me, within a week, the car was offered for sale on their lot. I have no confidence in their products anymore. I cant and will never trust them again. Mercedes Benz of Anchorage made their profit at my expense. While i love the new car I have now, this would have been alleviated had they done the right thing.
looks like proper shit respray job done in someones garage, thats what it probably is, didnt even bother taking rear lights and trim off. its definetely not been done by mercedes, they couldnt do it that bad even if they tried why you didnt exchange for other car? 30 day/1000 mile exchange policy if not happy. ....but yes, mercedes should not be selling crap like this in first place
I work at a MB approved body shop. We repair hundreds of cars that are less than 2 years old with major damage sometimes structural. If it’s done to Mercedes specifications is fine. I’ve just put a full new front end on a 17 plate c class today which is a premium hire Car from a big company. It will do 10,000 miles and go back through the system and end up as a Mercedes approved Used Car. There is no record of the repair in any car check system that operates in the u.k as it’s not been written off, just a straight up damage waiver claim. You got a bit of a rough paint job I’ll give you that. It would never have got through the door where I work, we have a very tight Q.C system. It’s all quite easily sorted though.
b10xtn that’s what I would have expected from Mercedes. I also got the pics because of this video someone sent me the original pics on Facebook how he crashed the car
Marshal Malik. To be fair MB operate a very tight ship when it comes to repairs. The original owner may well have had the car repaired by someone like churchills or direct line who operate under their own guidelines and don’t necessarily meet MB standards. MB probably had no clue about the previous repairs when they received the car back, probably under some kind of lease deal or under a trade in agreement.you live and learn
I'm having the same issue with Mercedes of Stoke, car purchased late may 2017, The panels seem fine on my 2014 E Class cab but its had the front bumper, whole nearside and rear bumper painted.. Trim not correctly re fitted, runs in the paint. Its in the paint shop now, I'm waiting for them to repair it as we speak. It's not what I'd expect from Mercedes Benz.. They wouldn't give my a refund but would put right the damage. My guard was well and truly down when I purchased the car, that will never happen again.. I have learnt a very expensive lesson. Your E Class Cab is shocking mate... I would never have believed it if you hadn't posted this video. On a positive note, Mercedes Benz of Stoke have been accommodating and are keen to resolve the issues seen. I will update when the car is returned to to me later next week. Trust No One!!! Question everything!!!
I was a bodyshop manager for Mercedes for 6 year, only left a couple of months ago, Mercedes Benz are not the vehicles they use to be, they are now mass produced like any other vehicle, saying this we would never of let a vehicle go with the over spray and mask lines this vehicle has.It should of been quality controlled before it even left the bodyshop, MB Cambridge is owed by MBUK themselves but i am not surprised to see this sort of poor workmanship from them. We use to buy cars from MBUK that was suppose to be retail ready but I wouldn't sell them on Ebay never mind an MB Dealer forecourt. Be careful even if it says on the screen vehicle is a Mercedes Direct vehicle as these are the worse.
Marshal Malik They are all the same my friend i looked at an Audi A few years ago from a main dealer. It had had fns wing repainted and a very poor job done on all but one of its alloys. There is always signs to look for. I always give the car a good look over. Main dealer cars will alway be well services but may not have been as well looked after in terms of wheels and body work.
There are hundreds of checks that you might have to do when buying a used car, and as obvious as any damage may seem once you've had a car for a short time, sometimes it is not immediately apparent. Have you never seen an inspection report? He trusted the salesman and car is barely a year old. So having asked for an undamaged car at the point of sale, why would you automatically assume that he is lying? After all, this is a top marque car. If buying the car from elsewhere you'd probably have the check carried out, and done properly, those are not cheap. I for one would not consider such an additional expense when buying from a forecourt.
SixtyTwoEleven take it you had not read my comment about the Audi A4 i had looked at from a main dealer. On the face of it this A4 looked mint. But i give it a good inspection and found the faults. I too would have spotted most of the faults on this mercedes.
Mr malik i do hope you got this sorted,,i think it may have been in an accident thats why the panels dont line up im guessing..fingers crossed you get it sorted.
That is a paintjob worthy a used car worth between £ 0-£ 999........Not an almost new Merc E-Class convertible. I would contact MB in Germany on this issue if Cambridge will refuse to take responsability. Especially due to this is a APPROVED used car..... on the downside you must prove that they sold it in this condition and a bunch of time has passed......The lesson on this matter is bring somone who working with used cars to inspect the car before purschase........In Germany if they write UNFALL FREI ( free from accidents) In the description...... and later is proved to be false.........the punishment in Germany will not be worth the scam made in the first place.........the same about mileage done... lt Tacho.... means mileage read in a ocular way.....just that......probably a fake mileage.............But if they write for example 20000 miles without..... lt tacho...........they guarantee that it is accurate and the punishment if they lying about this is nothing a dealership would like to experience........
I was considering buying a 17 plate c63 s amg from merc which would have been my first after 5 BMW’s.... I’ll be going for the m3 at BMW now... thanks for the info
I’m sorry mate bud if I looked out my window and saw that Car, I wouldn’t care what defect it had, your lucky to have a lovely car but unlucky to have a liar of a salesman...
Shocking that for a so called "approved used" MB. You would expect this when buying from a small garage or auction, but not from an mb main dealer. Such a beautiful car I can understand why you'd be gutted. Hope you reached a satisfactory resolution. At least now you know how to spot these things! This is one of the reasons I buy brand new but even then cars can still be damaged on route from factory and then sneakily repaired by the dealer.
I don't understand how you see all of this now but didn't see it when you did the purchase? If you see it all now, if it is all so apparent why only now? I don't know how they respray but did the crash specialist tell you how much damage was done or are you assuming that it was crashed and not partially disassembled to paint? Anyhow, as a buyer you have a responsibility to do your due diligence. Some of these things you should have noticed easily during your inspection. Please take at least some responsibility for this yourself- you bought the lowest level cabriolet in that series that Mercedes has and that tells me you may have tried to punch a bit above your weight class and didn't do the due diligence. I bet there are tons of signs that it shouldn't have been bought or at least should have had some money knocked off it.
DiveJumpShooter dear Friend they took full responsibility and now I have a new car. When you go to a main dealer you expect a certain standard of car I only noticed it because I was washing the car. I was in love with this car from the first moment . When I took it to a car specialist he showed me all the defects. Stay blessed and have a nice day
Hi it is not about Mercedes its about the dealer you are 100% right, this dealer needs to be ought a lesson you should call Mercedes head office Good Luck
That is truly shocking from the main dealer. You cannot trust ANY car dealer no matter what the make. It's all about turn over, profit and us the customer get screwed over all the time. With that amount of over spray , the door out of line and the disparity of paint Colour why you did not spot it. It's so plainly obvious to see? After saying that it's still shocking that the car was presented for sale in that condition . Thank you for the video.
tracey saunders Thank you for seeing it. Many people were very angry saying to me that the cars in great condition. I’m glad we’re on the same wave length Stay blessed
This is definitely actionable! Plus they won't want the bad press. You must reject it unequivocally, and not entertain another readjustment or repair to exercise your legal rights.
Ronnie Bessa Brand new Mercedes are way more expensive! I have two brand new 2017 Mercedes-Benz, and they were about $70,000 each. The used ones are about $30,000-$40,000. There is a huge price difference. Also don't watch if he is "wasting" your time. Also learn how to spell please.🌹
You have a point. You want perfect line you need to buy a brand new one. Problem would be solved I hope he knows that. Plus theses cars are money pits when it comes to maintaining them. Better off getting a different vehicle all together. I know all cars have problems but these are the worst for them. I love Mercedes and it took me a lot to say that lo.
I have a cabriolet like his and it has now done over 200k. I bought it new. Nothing wrong with these cars and i expect another 200k out of it. I drive long distances most of the time as well.
I can say this, I live in NY and brought my BMW from Rallye dealership. They hold my car for a week because they need to "detail it." When I first saw the car and test drove it, everything was fine. A week later when I went to pick it up finally, the hood had a lot of tiny white spectacles (the exterior is black) that it didn't had before to my recollection. I was skeptical about it but seeing that I had already put down the money and signed the paper works already, I took the car. A year went by and still no issues with the car overall and lo and behold one summer a friend of mine was checking out my car and under by the rear wheel side he pointed out to me how a small portion shows a slight warp in the paint; it's not as smoothed out as the rest of the body similar to how the coloration is in the video is shown. Now, my carfax didn't report this car having an accident so the only theory I got was either the dealership fucked my car up and decided to fix it themselves that's why they took a week to give me the car from their own backlot or whomever they got the car from had it fixed without ever being reported as an accident. Thus far I have this car over 3 years now and the paint by the rear wheel is holding good, however, the spectacles on the hood had started going by the 2nd year and already there is a spot that is rusted a little. I'm probably consider trading it in but I only got 40k miles on it and they probably won't give me anything less than 5 grand for it when I already paid off the car (30k) :(
David Chan man so sorry to hear what happened to you. For me the trust factor was there. It’s been a long time since I bought such an expensive car. Going to a main dealer you expect them for the money they charge todo a proper thorough job to make sure the car is in as good condition as possible. As you can see by my video they had the car for 2 weeks and they did nothing with it. At the end they exchanged it for a Like for like car. Just what I wanted
Blind Bandit dumbass, the frame of the car could be bent. Which may cause the car not to align properly. Hinges won't fix that problem Fool. STAY IN SCHOOL!
What a horrible experience I never in a million years would have thought that a Mercedes dealership would sell such a car.. car looks great at first but that's just not on 😲 I hope they resolve your problem QUICK & FAST
A really Shoddy crap tart up repair. Its also had a jolly good bang! To get the panels out of alignment. The only advice is put in writing you do not want a car that has paintwork done, before you buy ! Then of it happens ... return it.
Thanks for sharing this Marshal, my parents have just been through a similar situation when buying a simple little 14 plate 208 from a Peugeot dealership for £7k, it's sad that it happens at a budget manufactures dealership but for it to happen with a car like this at a merc dealer is just terrifying. Really makes you wonder who you can trust to buy any car from when this seems to be a reoccurring thing taking place at dealerships of all types! Have you had a response yet from Mercedes corporate or further news from the dealership? The latest with their situation is that a representative from Peugeot head office is visiting the dealer in question and 'taking things from there'
Totally agree with you, we work hard for our money and if we are buying a car from a prestigious brand like Mercedes then we want exactly what we pay for.... a perfect vehicle. Just for the record I purchased a new Mercedes last summer and the service before the sale and after was fantastic - thank u Mercedes Benz Stockport.
Did you get a resolution? I am also in discussions with them currently about a brake Judder on my S Class that appeared within warranty. It was identified in Warranty and Mercedes didn't want to know - they have now identified there is an issue with the refurb process on the W222 model that has caused this but Mick Jolly refutes the claim, even though Mercedes themselves and my local dealer have shown me documentation detail the issue. I am now on my third pair of front discs all of which are damaged by the refurb job on the wheel. In discussions with Mercedes but no on i staling ownership. Interestingly mine also has an alignment issue on the drivers door but I can't see any overspray from damage but have raised it with them initially. I ahve paid for 2 sets of new discs, a new tyre, tracking (it was fine) and now need a new set of discs and a new wheel - best part of £1800 for an issue identified within warranty.
The panel alignment doesn't look too bad, it may be like that from factory. Mercs are not Bugatti or Rolls Royce. I wouldn't expect fit and finish to be any better than on a Ford or Vauxhall, whatever Mercedes might try to sell about their brand. Even the smallest damage on one panel, the garage will paint the whole side so the paint mismatch cannot be seen easily. But like many bodyshops they can't be bothered to remove trims cos of the labour cost involved so they just mask everything off. Might be acceptable on older battered cars but certainly not on this one. The paint on the rear light looks really sloppy.
If you have been mislead when purchased the car you have entered into verbal contract to start with the salesperson and also with the dealership which then makes any further sales contract void as it was on the basis of a verbal agreement Also at the time you reiterated you did not want an accident damaged/painted vehicle did they at the time give you a clear Hpi report also did they go through the demands and needs when they presented the deal to you also may I ask is the car on finance ?
Thanks for the video.. if any one is going to pay the FULL WACK and there is NO negotiation you want a car to drive in confidence and to be proud of.. real shame on the dealers.. i'll remember where not to buy from
Perfect example of why you should never trust a car dealer, they are the least trust worthy people. Looks like you've learned an expensive lesson and hopefully now you know what to look for before buying a car.
Mate.. that repair was not done by a main dealer and when you have rear panel damage. They have to cut out the old rear quarter and pop a new one in. That requires welding and realignment. Once you touch the rear quarter. The door and front wing will never line up the same again. It's just the way it goes. It's definitely a bodge job and the lights don't line up because the rear quarter is ever so slightly tucked in. To be honest, just a little scoundrel keying the car will do this. When you paint a rear quarter you have no choice but to blend the whole side all the way to the front. So the car hasn't been smashed just poorly repainted. The initial rub down and prep was clearly done in a rush!
Schnitzer325ci wow that was a great in detail report. Someone has sent what the damage was on the car from before. He had seen my video and messaged me on FB
Marshal Malik Well as long as it drives straight and isn't a Cat C or D.. don't stress about it. You can spend a lot of money trying to get a mint car and then go Sainsbury's and come out to find somebody has hit the car and run off. Main thing is speak to the dealer and see if they can do something with the evidence you have... but most importantly.. just enjoy the car. Life is short and not everybody will have the same opportunities as you and I.. so merc it up and smile whilst the haters watch on. Going off to pray now. Enjoy and have a good day. ✌
Always bring it to and independent shop. If the seller won't let you do that tell them bye bye. You will look elsewhere. Cars that have been in storms and flooded and damaged can be resold again. Some have been known to have been welded back together. Even two different cars have been welded together. Buyer beware. Be very careful at the stealership.
I’ve had my CLS350d shooting break to MB 4 times in the span of 3 months and still the issue when cold starting it persists. Feels a bit like ‘if you’re ill, whatever you do, do not go see a doctor’... 3 MB’s down and this one is my last one for certain....
This guy was clearly ripoff by the Mercedes Benz dealer. Is unbelievable. I hope he can do something about this problem.
I didn’t want my money back just a straight like for like car and I got it . 👊🏽
Ruby and Marshals Tips well done mate
Greg thank you
Uk consumer law states that the dealer has to disclose any major accident repairs to you when you buy the car. If they do not you can demand a full refund. Tell this dealer if they don't take the car back and give you a refund you will sue them and inform trading standards.

Das war ein Fehler
it's a shame the dealership is so shady.
Carfax is only in the states? Wow I learned something new today
USA dealerships are heavily regulated with the used cars. Businesses could potentially lose their license all together.
I'm delighted you took them all the way on this. They are a multi national company making millions. Customer service should be their number one priority. Well done and enjoy your new car my friend!
Paul Johnston thankyou so much. Really appreciate your message 🙏🏽
for all the people saying he should have used Carfax or something similar they are not always right...they only show information on accidents and maintenance that was reported. if your a home mechanic and do all repairs yourself it would show up as having no history of repairs or maintenance done anywhere, or if you get into an accident for instance, the accident wouldn't show up if you never made a claim, if you just went to a private shop and paid to get it fixed then the Carfax would still show no accident history.
Contact previous owner to confirm what the damage was & hit them with the evidence, don't give up
David Wilson thx buzz oldgin
The previous owner might not own up to it because he knows it would have affected his final payment. He botched a repair to make the car returnable
David Wils..
Yea he might actually have been tye one that initially dud the botched job
Wow!😱 I thought it was only me!
I feel for you sir. I had a similar issue with Mercedes Benz too.
I pray that you have a speedy resolution, and compensation from the dealership.
I have now switched to Audi, and haven't experienced any issues at all.
*Vorsprung durch Technik!*
I'm really surprised that you didn't spot all of this before handing over the money.
How would he? Guy is not en expert and doesn't know what to look for. Would you know how to argue a case in court not knowing the law and procedures? Doubt it.
Evren Sokmener he's just a really silly boy really
EES80 an expert? He's been buying mercs for years. He surely has a clue! Also he's spotted the botch repairs now... What about before? You don't need to be an expert.
You're being stupid. Someone buying from Mercedes shouldn't need to inspect anything. We should be able to trust Mercedes with closed eyes otherwise what distinguishes them from the gypsies round the corner, just the suits they wear?
Evren Sokmener Exactly!!
You are quite correct sir, if i had purchased that particular vehicle I would be asking for a full refund. The future resale value of the car will be significantly reduduced due to the cosmetic paint repairs. Hope things work out well for you.
michael johnson thanks they have . They gave me another straight car this time
happy to hear they replaced! I was getting mad watching this. that is not proper work
Happy to hear
michael johnson @w!%
Thanks for the warning. Just cannot trust anybody nowadays can you? Such a shame .
It takes a certain "character type" to be a car salesman, to know that you must lie to the customers face and be o.k. with that! The same goes for politicians, lawyers etc!
The Six One Niner! You've never purchased a brand new car how the fuck would you know LOL!
Dirt by any other name is still dirt!
Don't be so stupid
To be a salesman of anything really you have to lie or hide information. Otherwise you can't make a profit.
Towfiq Zindani I’m grateful that my video helped
I had the same experience with Jaguar of Hull, I paid £24500 for a used xj6 they offered to buy it back for market value £18000 even Jaguar customer care refused to help. All customer care and pre-sale checks just bullshit.
Bill Dobbins social media is a powerful tool
They gave me a car with half the mileage so it was a win win situation for me
Marshal Malik Good for you I am pleased that at least you got satisfaction.
And what will happen to this car that you returned? Will it be repaired properly before being resold again? LOLOLOLOLOL As if. The overspray will be taken care of (maybe) and they'll sell it to some other unsuspecting sucker who thinks a Mercedes dealer would never scam them.
Bill Dobbins xj6's don't go for as much as 24500 I should know I've owned many and I'm very much a jag man
You raised a very valid point and the main dealers these days very often don’t serve the customers who care about the company but to rip you off if they can. Did they refund you the money?
Thiru GT my demands were a Like for like car & Yes they changed it over for a straight car
I feel your pain. I've been buying vans from Mercedes for the past 10 years. The vehicles from new are great but the dealer service is appalling, I definitely wouldn't buy a used Mercedes commercial vehicle or car, the dealers just can't be trusted unfortunately.
Walk and Cycle thanks but they should really improve there customer service.
It’s bad like you said
I had an e-class back in 2004.that was my 4th mercedes..Major rust issues which I gave to Mercedes Greenoaks in Slough to sort out under goodwill.
S Pan shocking
Very low for a Mercedes dealership to do this to a customer. Very poor repair work. I use a BMW panel shop in Perth and most of the times you wont pick that its been repaired
Good advice. They think that most customers don't check...
Aman A that’s true we need to be more thorough
Hope you got it sorted out
Are Bee thank you all sorted 👍🏽
Ring the BBC, Don't get done, get Dom. Let them action this situation for you, Mercedes don't want bad press trust me. Good Luck with everything, hope it gets sorted.🙏
Mercedes is not what the brand used to be. I had an E320 CDi Estate from new, and every time there was a chip in the paintwork, it rusted. I don't think it could have been galvanised. Never had that problem with my Ford, or Toyota, nor Mazda.
i feel your pain, i had the same with an Audi A4 Cabriolet from a Franchise dealer, hope you get it sorted
alex lee thank you it got sorted
I wish you the best of luck sir.
Malick, feel sorry for you from other side of atlantic. My point is how did you not noticed these issues before buying.? It is a blatantly "lemon" in US standard. you should return the lemon and get full refund. I doubt any US dealership will hide these kind of problems from the potential customers. Good luck.
I experienced the same thing with my Acura TSX. After washing it several times is when I noticed overspray. Etc.
I knew a guy who is the first owner of BMW 3 series. He has problem in getting into reverse and BMW could not solve the problem. He conveniently hike it off to a used car dealer. Guess who is going to inherit this problem. The next buyer.
yhwe100 bullshit story
ankhenaten2 tell me whats bs about that
yhwe100 after BMW signal broken now it cant reverse? Whats next? Cannot start the car?
yhwe100 bmw is known for having problems like that. There’s owners that even had the rear view mirror fallen off
I believe it.
Bro I wouldn’t trust them to do the service on my car
I buy parts from them then I head to my local garage
Good luck
I have an new SL on order which I pick up in three weeks. Its my first time with Mercedes after 25 years of great service from BMW and my local dealer so it is a step in to the unknown. But if i get any issues, I will be straight on to MB UK if Synter of Swindon don't provide the service that i expect
I feel your pain bro Mercedes dealers are the worst when it comes to after service. The only customer they care about is someone buying there over priced new s class and above. I love Mercedes cars but got treat so rudely by there dealership that I took my hard earned money to Lexus where I get treated like a paying customer
bj banny good on you mate. It's true it's your hard earned money and if you don't get the right customer satisfaction it's not worth it
The X5 in the back is banging. Should’ve considered the new 5 series m Sport XDrive?
This is very upsetting, I hope u got it resolved...
ayo30s yes I did thank you they gave me another like for like car
Interesting thanks for the video. You’re really easy to listen to and seem like a decent bloke. Gutted for you.
Rickie See thanks buddy no need to be gutted I got a Like for like car from them with half the mileage 👍🏽
Marshal Malik Hey man. That’s a great outcome, excellent to hear. I’m glad you got it sorted.
Rickie See Thanks Once Again
CONTACT MB Customer Services in Milton Keynes and give them he'll- I've had much success doing exactly that !
Terry O'Brien thanks I did they gave a another car 🙏🏽
Marshal Malik any luck ?
Marshal Malik. If you got a new car, please update the description under the vid and mention that.
I had a problem with my Mercedes and they had me take the car back six times eventually I rejected the car because I felt the car was damaged also their was a question In relation to the number of owners , anyway Mercedes bought the car back from me and reimbursed me for all my out of pocket expenses, it wasnt easy but I got my money back . good luck mate .
andy b thanks for your info it means a lot it helps others to. I got a replacement car 👍🏽
Has anything happened since?
I bought a MB Gla 250.. Went back to the dealer for scheduled maintenance, and after getting the bill. REFUSE to ever go back again.
looks like proper shit respray job done in someones garage, thats what it probably is, didnt even bother taking rear lights and trim off. its definetely not been done by mercedes, they couldnt do it that bad even if they tried
why you didnt exchange for other car?
I wouldn't expect that from a mb dealer shocking the amount of money you pay then to find out its damage repaired
Zaheed Khan I feel the same
I'm having the same issue with Mercedes of Stoke, car purchased late may 2017, The panels seem fine on my 2014 E Class cab but its had the front bumper, whole nearside and rear bumper painted..
That car was really a disaster zone in disguise.
Used to drive Mercedes & BMW. They both have random issues. Now I drive Lexus. Very smooth and no more issues.
Tony Browns Lexus IS disgusting under powered garbage
Serves you right for buying a diesel convertible.
Wow can't believe how bad the paint is you should have had a full refund
Ria Ahmed they offered it , but I wanted a Like for like car. . Which I got 😇
I do believe you. Same experience from Mercedes Benz of Park Royal in London
Happened to my friend he went to trading standards it was sorted out immediately full refund.
malcolm campbell they offered me a refund but I wants a Like for like car
Marshal Malik I would have taken the money and run. BMW make a lovely convertible too. Worth a look!
I only kept watching the video because his accent was pleasant to listen to
Ben Gaikwad well thank you 👍🏽
not being funny but why did you not spot all of this at your first viewing mate?
mart f I didn't expect that merc would sell such a shit car
These dealerships are franchises... the only real main dealer is probably in Germany 🇩🇪 just like BMW
Looks like its been in rear shunt and repaired, hence the overspray
Still is a lovely motor mind you 👍🏻
Caemgen420 Mo chara no doubt
Mr. Malik. Did you get this resolved. A follow up would be good. I wish you well, keep fighting.
Yes I did . They gave me a another one
That's very unfortunate my friend. I'm just about to buy a 2013 CLS 63 AMG, so thanks for the tips now I will know what to look for.
5:33 same car passes
fox wolf ???
the same car passes
You have right ... I appreciate what you do... very good to fight for your Right ...
You bought a used car what are you expecting?
lol exactly
Exactly, used car, not previously damaged..... might have some wear and tear but not damage
Actually, there are laws in selling Sub-standard cars, What would you expect when parting with more than 20k??
idiot!!
1 year old !
2016 reg
Thanks buddy i did and I hit a replacement car
How petty can you get?
Petty?
When you spend all that money on a MERCEDES from a MAIN dealership you expect QUALITY!
That is truly shocking from the main dealer.
You cannot trust ANY car dealer no matter what the make.
It's all about turn over, profit and us the customer get screwed over
all the time.
With that amount of over spray , the door out of line and the disparity of
paint Colour why you did not spot it. It's so plainly obvious to see?
After saying that it's still shocking that the car was presented for sale
in that condition .
Thank you for the video.
tracey saunders Thank you for seeing it. Many people were very angry saying to me that the cars in great condition.
I’m glad we’re on the same wave length
Stay blessed
Marshal Malik Best wishes mate.
tracey saunders cheers
lovely problem to have fella
Hassan Ali cheers Mate
This is definitely actionable! Plus they won't want the bad press. You must reject it unequivocally, and not entertain another readjustment or repair to exercise your legal rights.
The best Mercedes is a Lexus.
Vinny Ocean Lexus is a Toyota
Vinny Ocean Toyota is a Honda
The best Toyota is a Lexus ;)
Vinny Ocean Toyota is a corolla
England is a city.
Good video , nice post congratulations on the nice newer car they gave you.
I will never buy a mercedes
Wabs no man Merc's are good cars
You will never buy a Mercedes, Sure because you’re too broke to afford it😏😂
Listen ye iv drove plenty of mercedes owned 2 of them. They garbage that constantly break. Il stick to Honda from now on
What happened? Did you sort this out?
You do realize you bought a second hand car lol why dont you buy new and dont waist everyones time
Twat your wasting our time.
Waist lol
There's barely any damage stop crying
Owen Treadgold you need Togo to Specsavers then 😎
Owen Treadgold the car not properly aligned which can possibly mean frame damage. That's something serious my friend.....
J.T Amazing Cichlid Man it still works doesn’t it
Blind Bandit dumbass, the frame of the car could be bent. Which may cause the car not to align properly. Hinges won't fix that problem Fool.
STAY IN SCHOOL!
Owen Treadgold that's not the point, the dealership should have addressed these issues. He's paying his hard earn for this vehicle.
What a horrible experience
I never in a million years would have thought that a Mercedes dealership would sell such a car.. car looks great at first but that's just not on 😲
I hope they resolve your problem QUICK & FAST
Neelam Star all sorted Thanks 🙏🏽
A really Shoddy crap tart up repair. Its also had a jolly good bang! To get the panels out of alignment.
The only advice is put in writing you do not want a car that has paintwork done, before you buy !
Then of it happens ... return it.
Peter Rolex I got a Like for like car
Thanks for sharing this Marshal, my parents have just been through a similar situation when buying a simple little 14 plate 208 from a Peugeot dealership for £7k, it's sad that it happens at a budget manufactures dealership but for it to happen with a car like this at a merc dealer is just terrifying. Really makes you wonder who you can trust to buy any car from when this seems to be a reoccurring thing taking place at dealerships of all types! Have you had a response yet from Mercedes corporate or further news from the dealership? The latest with their situation is that a representative from Peugeot head office is visiting the dealer in question and 'taking things from there'
Ed H this was a franchise but I didn't know that. I just wanted a nice clean car. Luckily I was washing the car that's why I noticed it
Happend to E350 coupe my husband had spotted that the car had been painted I opted to keep the car but negotiated a lower price
Always buy on finance even if you have the cash to buy outright. Added 6 months protection from the lender then pay off in full
Kulprit thanks for the advice 👊🏽
Good to know this, was all the problems solved and money back???
Totally agree with you, we work hard for our money and if we are buying a car from a prestigious brand like Mercedes then we want exactly what we pay for.... a perfect vehicle. Just for the record I purchased a new Mercedes last summer and the service before the sale and after was fantastic - thank u Mercedes Benz Stockport.
That’s a real worry I’m just going to buy a c class in the next few months! Really worried
Good video. Buyer beware. Thanks for sharing.
Good job, this is a genuine honest complaint that is constructive
Yes I did
The panel alignment doesn't look too bad, it may be like that from factory.
If you have been mislead when purchased the car you have entered into verbal contract to start with the salesperson and also with the dealership which then makes any further sales contract void as it was on the basis of a verbal agreement
Also at the time you reiterated you did not want an accident damaged/painted vehicle did they at the time give you a clear Hpi report also did they go through the demands and needs when they presented the deal to you also may I ask is the car on finance ?
Thanks for the video.. if any one is going to pay the FULL WACK and there is NO negotiation you want a car to drive in confidence and to be proud of.. real shame on the dealers.. i'll remember where not to buy from
Perfect example of why you should never trust a car dealer, they are the least trust worthy people. Looks like you've learned an expensive lesson and hopefully now you know what to look for before buying a car.
Andrew D I do indeed sir . Thanks for the comment 👊🏽
Why didn't you look over the 'second hand car' that well when it was on the forecourt??
Come 1st June 2018; a whole year after this videos been uploaded. Have you had any sort of resolution?
haider shah Yes they gave me a Like for like car
Mate.. that repair was not done by a main dealer and when you have rear panel damage.
Marshal Malik So was is as bad as anticipated or vandalised?
It shows the damage and the guy saying what he had happened . It was crashed in a nut shell 🤔

Arthur Smith thank you . They gave me a Like for like car. Which was thoroughly checked
I’ve had my CLS350d shooting break to MB 4 times in the span of 3 months and still the issue when cold starting it persists. Feels a bit like ‘if you’re ill, whatever you do, do not go see a doctor’... 3 MB’s down and this one is my last one for certain....
5184louis damn that’s bad mate wish you luck
I can maybe live with the poor paint job but that alignment is NOT ON. Update us; what was the outcome.
