Scott Stapp is one of the most vulnerable and honest songwriters of the 90s. Especially as someone who is a man of Christ. Who publicly admits his humanity, even as he dealt with alcohol and drug abuse. There's nothing more human than allowing your inner demons to come out and play. Someone who is famous enough to be heard yet honest enough to be real. God Bless, Scott Stapp.

A man of Christ, maybe. But a drunk, all round asshole and one of the most overrated vocalists ever! Mark Tremonti has got talent and Stapp was in a postion to make magic with him.

I understand a lot of people hate this band.. but I must say, as someone that listens to the music over lyrics, this guitarist is amazing. The way he is playing is not easy, and takes a lot of talent (or a SHIT TON of practice) to execute.

True story of how I met this song:
I was a huge Star Trek fan growing up. There was a game based in the Trek universe, Armada II. The game itself was ok, but a passionate modding community made it better. One modder redid the title screen, and has this as the background song. It's as far away from Stat Trek as you can get, but I was hooked on that song. Whenever I hear that guitar opening, I'm a 15 year old girl again for just a few seconds.
Thank you whoever put this as the background song in a niche Star Trek game. You made my life better.

It's also the fact no one considers the sound difference between sitting in a comfy studio, getting breaks, redoing it as many times as you want and running around on a stage, song after song, not being able to hear yourself over instruments and a roaring crowd. Cut this man a break he still did amazing.

This performance wasn't his best, but when I saw him in Raleigh in 2010, it was much better.

***** that voice of his at this time was due to damage to his Vocal Cords.
He was straining his already damaged cords and voice to almost complete overload in this gig.

Please come now I think I'm falling
I'm holding on to all I think is safe
It seems I found the road to nowhere
    And I'm trying to escape
I yelled back when I heard thunder
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say, let me say
    Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
Maybe six feet ain't so far down
I'm looking down now that it's over
Reflecting on all of my mistakes
I thought I found the road to somewhere
    Somewhere in His grace
I cried out heaven save me (save me)
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say, let me say
    Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
Maybe six feet ain't so far down
    Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
Maybe six feet ain't so far down, I'm so far down
    Sad eyes follow me
But I still believe there's something left for me
So please come stay with me
'Cause I still believe there's something left for you and me
For you and me for you and me
    Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
    Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
Maybe six feet ain't so far down
    Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
Maybe six feet ain't so far down
Please come now I think I'm falling
I'm holding on to all I think is safe
    Wow

E com ele, me deixe dizer
    Me deixe dizer
    Me segure agora
Eu estou a seis passos do precipício e eu estou achando que
    Talvez seis passos
Eu clamei aos céus "me salve"
E com ele, me deixe dizer
    Me deixe dizer
    Me segure agora
Eu estou a seis passos do precipício e eu estou achando que
    Talvez seis passos
    Não sejam tão distantes assim
    Me segure agora
Eu estou a seis passos do precipício e eu estou achando que
    Talvez seis passos
    Não sejam tão distantes assim
    Estou tão distante
    Olhos tristes me seguem
    Me segure agora
Eu estou a seis passos do precipício e eu estou achando que
    Me segure agora
Eu estou a seis passos do precipício e eu estou achando que
    Talvez seis passos
    Não sejam tão distantes assim
    Me segure agora
Eu estou a seis passos do precipício e eu estou achando que
    Talvez seis passos

Sad to see Scott Staps voice go a bit but I can't really blame him. I didn't even realize it at first, but they tuned a half step lower than normal for this. Looks like he lost a bit of his range.

He had tumors removed from his vocal chords. With surger6 like that, your voice will change. His voice is still AMAZING!!!!!!!
