Ektomorf performs "Outcast" live on EMGtv

- Ektomorf brings their mix of thrash, hardcore, and traditional Gypsy music to the EMGtv stage. This performance of "Outcast" showcases the band’s aggressive music and lyrical content. Lead singer, Zoltán Farkas, is using the EMG 81-8X and EMG 85-8X to keep a tight low end on his rhythm eight string guitar sounds. Tamás Schrottner rounds out the guitar tones with the EMG 808X. Keeping it all together is Szabi Murvai on bass using the EMG 35DC bass pickups.

I used to listen to this band all the time when I was younger. I don't care if it's just 0-1-0-0-0-1-0 or whatever. To me, it's a powerful song and band.

For the peole asking about this band. Ektomorf has been around for many years. Their main influence has been Sepultura/Soulfly. You can clearly hear that in both the music and the vocals. It's indeed not complicated music but simple songs can be powerful too. They are often referred to as the European Soulfly. They are from Hungary and originally their music had vocals in Hungarian. They actually have many albums, but in essence their music is simple but heavy, just like Soulfly. They only switched to 8 string guitars about a year ago. They used them on their latest album Aggressor. If you like this song, checkout their Outcast album released in 2006. You can also find a youtube vid where Max Cavalera from Soulfly sings a song with Ektomorf onstage.
if anyone took the time to do some research instead of being so quick to judge... they've been around since 94, and didn't start touring out of Hungary until years later anyway... do any of you know where Hungary is?

@Sheldon Julius just because something is simple dosent mean its a bad piece of music, they owned this live and there lyrics are deep as fuck, Ektomorf are actually solid dudes and they play music for passion and nothing else.

+CaptainChaos88 its just becouse 8strings can handle the low tuning they use. A 6string in that tuning is not a great deal. Gets out of tune with ease so i dont see a problem

@@EagleStorm0fficial I don"t see why would a 8 string guitar keep the tuning better. If you have the same scaled guitar you need to put thicker strings to get them tight and that's all. If you tight heavier strings with lower force (lower tuning) is the same for the neck if you tight lighter strings with higher force (e.g. standard E tuning). I saw lot musicians using normal 6 stringed guitar in B tuning or lower. The problem could be with weak neck when you try to use a e.g. 11+ string in standard. Baritone or multi scale guitars is a completely different story, of course for lower tuning they have better harmonics (like pianos deeper strings), so that would be a better choice maybe. Am I right?
