Refinishing a Vintage Mid Century Coffee Table
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 15 сен 2024
- Quick and easy furniture redo of a mid century coffee table, made of solid wood, wood veneer, and composite (like a pressed wood). This was just a matter of removing the old finish, sanding everything down, filling some damaged areas, and then staining and resealing.
This project was actually done about a month and a half ago, and even though it's a quickie, I still wanted to share with you!

This channel should come with a warning disclaimer of " You may get addicted to videos, you may frequent hardware, thrift stores and garage sales much more frequently, you may want to not give a crap about your manicures anymore" But it is all worth it. I love all the restorations you do!
No kidding!
You said this project may not have been dramatic, but I beg to differ. I love seeing a battered mid-century piece come back to life.
What an amazing make over. I appreciate that you return pieces to their original look. I know sometimes it just can't be done. Also, I always enjoy seeing your animal friends. You are such a kind person.
I absolutely loved this one. I think there was a huge difference.
Lovely jubly and I love your visitors- so cute
The table looks amazing! And those deer are so adorable, especially the one cleaning itself
Nice job. I truly appreciate your art. It’s nice to see that you aim to preserve rather than paint in your projects. Bravo!
I love the beautiful lines of this table and the way you refinished it. I really appreciate how you refinish things so that the beauty of the piece shines through; would love to find a piece like this in my thrift stores!
My Grandad loved MCM furniture. He bought a solid walnut coffee table and two side tables. I will be getting my hands on them this summer and I am so excited to restore them to their original beauty!
I loved the deer's in your back yard, You did a beautiful job
Omg, we had a table almost the same bought in 1967! Long gone, three young kids, and dogs, but it was pretty nice and sturdy considering the wear and tear it endured. 😊
I bet it could tell some stories if it were still about.
My parents bought the same one in 1967 too! I loved its simplicity.
AMAZING!! Big or small I watch them all. Love the animal cameos as well. Looking forward to you crossing the 100,000 mark.
That humble coffee table turned out very nicely :-)
@transcendFurnitureGallery it turned out lovely! Mahogany is a favourite of mine too. I actually got to stand under a huge Mahogany tree down south and it took my breath away! I fell even further in love with Mahogany...lol.
Love the critter shots! I caught a glimpse of a young female in my back yard a few weeks ago when I was patting my kitten in the window. I wish I caught it on camera . Dusty didn't know what to make of the deer near his catio I made...it's amazing how poofy he got...lol.
Very cool table, great size. The finish is so smooth & pretty. Great save Angie.☃️❄️☃️
Thank you for the sanding tips. Wish I had learned them sooner... lol
I remember my family all had coffee tables like that. Blast from the past for sure. I think you made it look better than when it would have come off the factory floor. ❤️
What a beautiful piece of furniture!
That looks gorgeous. I love that mid-century look.
Thank you very much!
Love the wood finish!
Nice and beautiful. I’m partial to maple 🍁 and oak, myself. Hope you have a superfine day, sweetie.
I think the darker edge sets off this table, Angie. Nice work! 🙂🙃😉💗
Thanks so much!
Beautiful as always Angie!!
Thanks for showing the close ups of the damages. I was always curious how they looked. Great job as always. Don't have the room for a coffee table but now I want 1
That's awesome and thanks for breathing new life into the piece 😀 😊

Wow! Fabulous job!
I often don't like the designs of old furniture but it never fails to amaze me watching you transform them into pristine items again.
This is the best kind of recycling 👌
Stunning finish 😍
Thank you! 😊
The table is stunning as always (LOVE the colour) but not as much as the glorious wildlife in your garden! I'm green with envy lol. I do get foxes in mine, but they scoot away as soon as I do so much as twitch the curtains! TFS :)
You do great work and I love your tattoos!
Walnuts is my favorite what is well! I think the paste turned out absolutely perfect 👌 🙂🇨🇦✌🏻
Thank you very much! 🙂
Looks fantastic 👍🍾🍸
So beautiful! Love your work
It looks beautiful! I like the sides looking darker. It makes the top of the coffee table stand out. Wonderful work and thanks for posting!
You're so welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I am a kid of the late 60’s. This table hit me instantly- everyone had these! 😀
This is a great transformation!
Love how it turned out. Another great job
I'm so glad you like it! 😊
Love it , these smaller pieces have so much to offer came out great
It's such a beautiful piece with nice lines and beautiful base and legs. I can see why you like maple so much. It simply comes out gorgeous!
I like that you do simple flips like these too. They teach me a lot, that I can use to eventually restore the teak nightstand and bedframe I inherited.
Welcome to RUclips University, another Master Class with Angie !
You make everything look so easy. Arghhhh....lol.
Thank you for saving furniture & showing us how.
You're very welcome! ☺️
Wow, that's a beautiful piece. I certainly couldn't imagine so at the beginning. But now...! Nothing's as satisfying as a good Cinderella tale, and Angie gives us one every video: from beat-up and unappreciated to gorgeous and desirable.
Thank you so much Molly!
Beautiful work
Stunning!
Love this little MCM table! I really like the simple ones too because that’s where I am right now. Still learning.
That’s beautiful!!
I think all of your flips are dramatic and exciting. I learn something new with each video, Angie! Mid century modern is my favorite and the reveal with the dramatic music gives me chills every time! Thank you for sharing with us another beautiful transformation.
You can never change that reveal music! I know the finish product will be spectacular and that music is my jam 🤣🤣
Very beautiful!
You really bring out the est in these pieces. Oh be still my heart I am in love...if only I could find one for my new home.
It's gorgeous!!!!

They just look so amazing when you're done. Such great craftsmanship.
Gorgeous!!!
Nice design and finish👏👏👏
Thanks so much!
Awesome tutorial!! I was surprised to hear you prefer gel stain. Love the turnout ❤ I’m learning so much
I do for many applications. But still use penetrating or dye stain on occasion. :-)
Thank you so much. I stumbled onto your vid because my sister & I are flipping different pieces for a living room set for her house. I’m the researcher and your instruction and process are clear and look very doable even to a newbie. All the best.
You're so welcome Caydee! I'm thrilled I could help!
I will remember the tip about not adding to much wood glue! Your visitors are adorable 😍 💕 Happy week Angie 😊
Fabulous work
Like these videos- helpful clear cut explanations. Appreciated

Your pieces are just so beautiful!🌸
Dam! You do great work!!! Keep u the great video!!!!
Love your work. Also loved the deer in the snow as I'm sitting here in 38c (100f) heat and humidity in Australia!
The all wood walnut finished furniture pieces are always my favourites 😬
Beautiful!
And thanks for the deer shots! We don't see those much in Sydney! Xx
I love your attention to detail! I grew up with this type furniture and have great memories around these. Thanks for the memories!!
It’s lovely really worth taking it back to how it started. Thank you.
Thank YOU for watching!
Beautiful!
Wow. Again. Wow.
Growing up in the 60's and 70's, this table was in so many homes of friends and family. ❤Beautifully re-done. Love it!
Thank you so much!
That table took more work than i thounght. Great job. Loved seeing your deer visitors.
The ugly duckling certainly transitioned into a swan. Beautiful, just beautiful. Your time and effort is appreciated. Thanks for sharing.
I know it's an older video but I'm just now seeing it, and what an amazing job. Absolutely beautiful.
