People, especially these kids, are jaded. C5’s are between 3100 to 3300 lbs. 650 is enough to break many hearts of heavier rides, if not to just be right along side them. Also those other rides cant just take the motor out and toss in an LSX based, 460 cu inch stroker and make 700 NA at the wheels. Let alone toss some giggle gas on top of that.

That Z06 is nicely done!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish the owner would have explained more about the supportive mods, like... injectors / headers / fuel system / clutch / miles on car and mods / cats or no cats / ect. There's a lot done and it's very impressive.This is one of the lightest vettes ever made, with 650hp!
A good friend of mine just built a sleeper 98 C5 with an automatic putting 800+ down to the pavement with a 427 build and a blower. He is looking forward to trolling some Hellcats.

Same. Had an 03 S2k AP1 and bought an 04 C5z and fell in love. Sold the S2k shortly after, even though I regretted it, but LOVED my Z06. Lol. Both are incredible cars, but nothing beats a lightweight aluminum and fiberglass V8 American muscle car. The torque, the throttle response, the horsepower, its unmatched.

Chris, great vid as always. Interested in your thoughts between riding in a fixed roof vs. the standard coupe with the targa. I love my FRC, but feel like I’m missing something without the removable top.
With the roof on they don’t feel any different really. I personally have always liked the look f the Coupe better over the FRC. And the option to remove the targa is a great bonus.

Yes, it is 650rwhp. And yes, it is a rocket ship. The video doesn’t do it justice. The 168mph in the half mile backs up the claim.

I love the look of c5’s without that molding strip that runs along the middle of the door/fender… so much cleaner. glad mine doesn’t have it either.

I might have made a mistake,I bought a 97C5 with an automatic transmission.
Definitely not! An auto C5, cammed, tire, torque converter and the right centrifugal blower will tickle 9’s, if not be at the top of 9’s.
