Playing an indirect n supportive role, you'll make money in years to come as this is a residential n commercial area. Heck, can even be done through online services (esp. those of you already selling stuff online, this is a new market coming in for you) even if you don't live there. You'll still make money. Just be creative. Also, if business start there, employment opportunities exist as well.

knowing the Chinese buyers will think to buy one for myself, another one for my son/daughter mentality. While I'm living in one, I can rent out the other unit. But how many people will rent these apartments? Who will rent these units? If I work in Johor Bahru, would I rent there and commute that far to work? How many Chinese nationals will really move there to live? From these factors mentioned alone, my guess is these mega projects will be very quiet and lifeless.

i hope this reclaimed land doesn't get landslide, flash flood, and etc. I'm not an expert in soil engineering. But if we see the land span, we can easily see disaster is waiting to come. I think this is far different from making an independent artificial island in the middle of the sea in Dubai. But maybe they already figured it out before investing tons of money here.
