Never seen such a good showcase of Edmonton in a video before.
Because some of the older videos around on YouBoob seem to highlight Edmonton in the dead of winter and at its least flattering, which is common in most northern cities! This one highlights everything that makes Edmonton a great place to live!!
All you need are sloppy beer clinks in slomo of some hipsters, a few hockey references, a drone footage campaign and boom ... win. lol. $500 and some seniors at the local uni w/ marketing licks and you're done.

This one seems to be a very charming city, I hope I can visit again sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
Is it though?
just a typical car centered suburbia, a great place to live in if your too impatient to spend time searching for parking space. calgary is the best city in canada.
Compared to other cities in Canada, Edmonton is a dump. It’s a very dirty and boring city. 39 years here and I can truly say that.
You want a nice city? go to Calgary, Vancouver or Montreal.
@@princehumperdinck6700 please tell me why you say it is a dump, etc? We are looking to immigrate
@@ann.earnbucksonline It's not a dump, it just gets really cold and isn't as big as some other cities. It gets so much unnecessary hate which might have something to do with the sports teams which aren't very well-liked outside of Edmonton. Calgary is basically the same as Edmonton apart from being closer to the mountains and Vancouver is nice but really expensive. Montreal is the best compared to Calgary, Vancouver and Edmonton but they are all nice.
Really like the ice district area, glad they are adding high rises to that area, keep them coming

I've never been to Edmonton but after viewing this exceptional video I will plan a trip this summer.
Great content and subscribed. I look forward to seeing videos in the cold too hahaha. I think there's a great opportunity in showcasing Winter activities as well :).
Edmonton is under rated. Great city, even better value for young families!
I totally agree with you
i gotta admit. thats why i love about Edmonton. it looks like a big city but it feel like a town. just perfect
i could not agree more😀
@Karl von Bahnhof You're gonna start talking about how great Vancouver is *coughs in downtown eastside*
@Karl von BahnhofI'm well aware. Downtown is just as dirty as any place in Edmonton, and Edmonton's is improving
@Karl von Bahnhof No, you’re mad because Edmonton isn’t Vancouver. You can’t argue that those problems are specific to Edmonton, either. Have you seen the sprawl in Calgary and Toronto? But you’re not gonna trash those cities. And there are quite a bit of new small businesses, you just haven’t looked.
Living in China, I am depressed. Looking forward to moving to Edmonton. In my impression, Canadians are very friendly and kind.
We lack freedom. For me, Freedom is everything!
I love Edmonton. I sent my eldest son to Edmonton to study in university of Alberta in Data science. He loves Edmonton too and decided to stay there after his graduation completed.
A city I hated living in at the time, but grew to fondly remember once I left.
Also, it snows here 8-9 months a year, with next to no city planning when it comes to construction. We have some of the highest housing costs in the world. This is the coldest major city on the planet and they only showed videos of summer... and people watching hockey in the summer... which never happens. The people are great and super helpful. The police aren't helpful and are almost scary aggressive. In terms of growth and market potential, Winnipeg is actually the best city. Dont get me wrong i love getting tickets every 4 days driving to work more then the next guy but Edmonton is about as bad as it gets for quality of life. This is coming from someone who has spent time in 8 major cities in Canada...
Wow Joshua! I was seriously thinking about moving here but after your assessment of Edmonton, a resounding NOPE! THANKS! 😀
@@tomconverse7862 well dont let my comment change your whole life, but i got to be honest too.
Edmonton has some of the highest housing costs in the world ? are you out of your mind? It's like 400 K Canadian for a new two car garage, detached home. In Toronto that same house is 1.8 million with crackheads everywhere. I know 10 people who left Toronto move to Edmonton because housing is cheap and it's cold everywhere in Canada in the winter. Winnipeg is an icebox and not anywhere nearly developed as Edmonton
@@jakestake5349 that's it, I'm moving to Edmonton. Thanks Jake! lol Ok, tbh, I don't know who to believe, the guy who claims he's lived in 8 cities in Canada or someone who's from Edmonton. I think I'll go with someone who knows Canada inside and out. The true native of Edmonton! 👍
@@tomconverse7862 Hey bud, lol thanks. I'm from Toronto and lived there for 20 years and then moved to Edmonton, six years strong now, Edmonton has everything Toronto has, but more affordable and family oriented. Life in Toronto is truly a grueling rat race, prices have got out of hand in Toronto and you're not getting a value for money anymore. you can save 20 years mortgage payments for the same house by living in Edmonton. To be honest, the neighborhoods and areas actually feel the same, same plaza and and malls and stores. And it's 200 bucks on WestJet to fly to Toronto whenever you feel like for a change of scenery. Because I save so much in Edmonton in the cost buying my large home compared to Toronto, I now go on three vacations a year to Europe with my family
Edmonton Oilers and Edmonton Eskimos are my favorite teams forever!!! Corona Virus has stopped me from going to Edmonton from Melbourne... for now, last time I was there in 2016 and I will be going there again, again and again...see you later Edmonton.

Great. Right evaluation of edm9nton city. The brutal cold.and snow.. For most part of the year. 4 months are comfortably livable. That includes fall...
Big city but get the feeling of small town _----. That's one good aspect of Edmonton city
miss the city, the people. I will come back for sure...
With our without Covid-19, Edmonton is very VERY boring. There's really not a whole lot to do here. I've been here for almost 20 years, and the biggest problems that make this city boring are:
#1 - Weather.
Weather conditions lock you in your home for LITERALLY half the year (unless you don't mind skiing, running, or doing anything else outside in very cold weather). The most simple thing you can do almost anywhere, is to go outside for a walk, and it's not really appealing to most when it's in cold weather; The cold weather that lasts for over 5½-6 months of the year.
#2 - It's NOT cheap here.
Yes, we don't have provincial (Harmonized) sales tax, but the crappiest apartment in the city cost around $1000(Canadian)/month.
When the oil industry is moving, almost anyone can make money here. Either with real estate, or working directly or indirectly in the oil industry.
People come here for work (when it's available), make their money, and then leave when the well runs dry. What wrecked Edmonton, as well as many other places in the world, was the oil boom of 2005. Housing prices went up by 275%, while wages only moved up 10%-20%. Prices haven't really come down since, and the well has indeed run dry. Without oil and what it does for our economy, it's basically unlivable. Before the oil boom, this place was livable, but now it's just not. Without being more easily affordable, you'd have less money to spend on the already limited leisure activities this city has to offer.
Don't get me wrong, it's not the WORST place in Canada. It has a lot to offer, but maybe, just for a visit. If you're thinking about moving here, you can do better.
So proud to call this city my home. I can't imagine myself living somewhere else.
I'm moving to Edmonton from Ontario very soon. This video got me even more hyped for the move!!
What was your reason? Just wondering.
@@minty_macaron cost of living. Ontario is getting way out of hand. 1600 minimal for a 2 bedroom apartment right now.

@@alexanderstark5192 that's true. I don't disagree with what you're saying as you make good points. Guess people just need to explore those things of what to expect when looking into a city.
