@@grantmurdock7385 Are you a Gin drinker otherwise? My sister has about 40 different Gins in her home bar, a friend works at a very fancy hotel in Cologne and gave us his mix list (Which Gin goes with which tonic and condiment), I agree that Aviation does not smell too nice, but in the right pairing, it can absolutely be part of a delicious mixed drink. And to be fair who has ever bought a bottle of Gin to drink it straight.
I happened to be at the Royal Oak when this was filmed and so James ended up kindly giving us that very drink for free, and I have to say it was very enjoyable, cheers James 👍
The serrated knife cutting the cucumber made a noise similar to a pencil running up and down the spine of a spiral-bound notebook used by adolescents to strum the rhythm of Glinka’s Ruslan and Ludmila.
Just opened my Asian Parsnip Gin. It's fantastic. I taste most of the stuff especially the cardamom. I've always had lime in my G&T until I lived in the UK (wish I were back). The Black Bird in Croughton got me hooked on Hendricks with cucumber. If I have a G&T now, it's the only way. Gonna try it with James' gin today. I have both Hendricks and James, maybe a side-by-side.
I probably won't know what competition this is for until a couple of years from now, but I *must* make certain that James wins with the greatest number of views!
I prefer adding the ice last. This way, the drink mixes itself as you pour the ingredients into the glass. With ice present, that mixing can't take place.
I approve of the glass - G&T has always been a 'long' drink, no idea why people started serving it in goldfish bowls on stems. However, I abhor the cucumber! I've been drinking G&T for longer than I care to remember and am heartily sick of now having to specify when I order that I don't want it served with assorted vegetables, a fruit salad or half a shrubbery!
Yes! A G&T is a tall drink, I'll accept a slice of lemon to amp up the citrus and maybe a couple ice cubes if I'm in the sun but it's a simple, refreshing drink. If you want your gin in a martini glass, order a damn martini (which I do, not a fan of tonic)
That's the Spanish who started that trend. I was there in 2015 (Zaragoza) for a couple of months. Goddamn do they love the G&T, as well as making all manner of variation of it with different spices and fruits and whatnot (I adore this type of adventerous entrepreneurial experimentation, so even if 9 out of 10 such concoctions are shit I still say it's good that they're doing them because you then find that 1 in 10 that's amazing). What's hilarious in comparison is the complete lack of martinis in every Spanish bar or even the knowledge of their existence. Ask for a "martini" and you will get, I'm not kidding you, some Martini (brand) vermouth on the rocks in a lowball glass.
If you guys serve G&Ts in glasses like that, I'll definitely stop by the pub for a drink. Also the branding is very similar to Yogscast gins - must be the same distillery.
Alright, I've just ordered a bottle of the Navy Strength stuff, we'll see how this goes. So you recommend using, specifically, a cucumber in a G&T with it then? Would you use it for a martini and, if so, what would you use for garnish (same thing, I suppose: cucumber)?
awww, you're not shipping to south africa. bad news bears for me i guess. will have to ask a friend in the UK to buy it and then ship it to me, guess that works too. thanks Bim
Mr. Spaniel. I wish trere was a podcast that's not focused on a specific topic, rather a bit of all round tomfoolery, cause surprisingly, it's not about the tone or the voice of mr. May, but rather the conversation itself, cause more often than not, his asking and answering aligns to the content of a proper conversation with two people. Very lovely to listen to, while idling in the car, or generally idling.
lovely video, however the G and T in Gin and Tonic made me think of something else with those initials..... what could it be.... oh I know! Galapagos Tortoise! that's it!
He made his return when the world needed him the most

Happy to help.
LMAO he dumped the Ryan Reynold gin in the bin, what a king
He *did* finish it though, Classic James May, wouldn’t waste a good gin even if it’s his competitor’s
That's about where it belongs. I swear, it's like someone cut down decent gin with some vodka because they didn't like gin or something.
Good company for green lantern.
@@battleempoleon3714 nice of u to notice as well

Wow! That's an indirect kiss 😘
Do you mean the drink he already took a sip off?
@@JimboRustles yeah, I trust that James didn’t have any germs, besides it’s not like I was gonna turn it down lol
Are you driving slower now? How is your sense of direction?
@@aerogfs I hadn’t noticed anything though I have developed a new inexplicable appreciation for the Dacia Sandero…
Alas, the drunken sailor is back.
Yearly dose of James May content
best reason to look forward to each new year
Thank you James, I will now drink my sorrows away
I absolutely died when the ice didn't make the cracking sound
I died when I heard the cricket sounds instead
It's a good thing that bit about his prediction was edited out.
I admire a completely random amount of gin.
The return of the King
Oh yeah
JAMES! I bought some of your gin and I'm saving it to share with my uncle. He's a gin fanatic!
I opened RUclips just in time
Asian Parsnip is now my favourite nickname for James.
The serrated knife cutting the cucumber made a noise similar to a pencil running up and down the spine of a spiral-bound notebook used by adolescents to strum the rhythm of Glinka’s Ruslan and Ludmila.
A video so good yet so simple. That’s the magic of James May’s RUclips Channel, sometimes the best things are the simplest things.
Ya sé que tomaremos este fin de semana. Gracias James por mostrarnos el camino.
The Parsnip Informs The Flavour Of The Gin.
Cheers for the video! Really needed some JM. Lush to see the quality is still in good nick.
Aviation gin is made by Ryan Reynolds company and you literally trashed it hahahaha love it!
I can't quite pinpoint the exact moment in time where James May morphed in to billy connolly
More of these please Dr. May
I literally looked at this channel yesterday to see when the last upload was. Good timing.
lmfao the dunk on ryan reynolds was amazing, I really hope there ends up being a lil video series back and forth between them on youtube
Great you see you back!

I've never tried a Gin & Tonic but I will now, thank you James
This seems very smooth!

James, there is still a bit of sticker on the cucumber.

Smoothest commercial ever.. plus it's 5 o'clock somewhere. Cheers
Good to see you again, you gent!
i would never expected to receve a notificafion in this channel lmao
A proper glass of Bim Gin.

James’ hair is looking extra floofy.
Love you James 😍😍😍
Thank you for including the title of the poem, missed your unemployment videos!

YOU'VE RETURNED TO ME JAMES. Only for an #ad
An argument just broken out in the kitchen but don't worry about that.

I couldn't care less what glass is used, as long as it tastes good.

Best served while riding in a Toyota Hilux going through the arctic circle.
once in a year this channel uploads
I love TGT, but this is great too. Good to know that when TGT ends, we'll get more of JM's unemployment tube
If you guys serve G&Ts in glasses like that, I'll definitely stop by the pub for a drink.

Why does it matter? I guarantee it will taste the same regardless of the glass, as long as the exact same ingredients and measurements are used.
Hmm... What is the James May version of Brewis Ginley?
Bim and Tonic.
I want one day to visit James’ pub.
HOLY ÉSSE, his unemployment tube is alive again !!!
james has like 4 jobs now ironically
Happy I clicked to watch lol
James looks like he went through rehab
everyday James may is looking more and more like Brian may

Good buy!
Is "Asian Parsnip" a euphemism ?
can't wait until you expand delivery to europe too :)
Well well, if it isn't Bim
I wonder what show this is going to be integrated with.

You could also try selling this with the tagline.. "makes everything seem less sh!t and tastes good too!"
Never tried cucumber in gin and tonic, might try it
