The 2.2 diesel is a phenomenal engine, it's a shame I feel I need to go down the route of a petrol with my replacement - it is a completely different drive and much less fun. The bad rap that diesel gets is not entirely deserved.
I was about to make same comment 7.5 out of 10, that is like saying its slightly better than average. Design is nearly 10 out of 10. I would consider rating like that on previous generation. For me nearly perfect, front like Jaguar XE and that is only positive.
Yong Geun Song Well, i fly model airplanes and helicopters and some of them are very large and hard to fit in my car and i can only take one at a time. I also race rc cars and traveling to events means i need to take a lot of equipment with me, and finally my father is in a wheelchair and transporting his wheelchair is difficult with a sedan.
im also considering the wagon with 165Hp petrol, but I have to wait for the facelifted version to arrive, if you get the chance, ask your dealer why the car gained 150Kg(they had to make some significant changes). Sadly they dont sell the turbo version in EU.
I wouldn't buy the 2.5 until the turbo is out. Wasn't impressed with the 2.0 petrol, but then I've come from a 2016 2.2 diesel which is a phenomenal engine.
A great review of a very capable car. Unfortunately the audio track picked up a low rumble which was amplified by my speakers. It made me wonder if Mazda have really got the road noise transmitted to the interior of the Mazda6 sorted...I will take one for a drive though.
Small center console box, No cigarettes lighter in middle of the console , No button for locl or unlock centeral locking No button for boot release No fog lights In case of led light dead, needs to change whole headlight. No struts to hold front bonnet No full size spare tyre
Sounds like an ad rather than a review. Was hoping to see more about the tech in the car. I'm already sold on Mazda6. Disappointed with the lack of actual review content.
Your interpretation of Mazda's G-vectoring is incorrect. The brakes do not get involved, instead the engine makes minute adjustments in a more intelligent way to improve cornering stability and control. This clever approach also reduces brake pad wear. Other than that, it was a good review.
So this is an update not a whole new chassis/model? Finally it seems Mazda has addressed NHV and put a decent motor in it. I’ve alway found the sedans profile and rear styling awkward but luckily there’s a wagon which is what’s I’d be more interested in.
Great comprehensive review. If the updated version has even better N.V.H. (did not think older version was noisy t.b.h.) than that is excellent. Mazda has killed it again with this 6 refresh!
My first infotainment system, I think it’s cool. Seen the accord version and the Mazda is nicer looking. The sound is based on which package you prefer. You can get Bose if you’d like. I got the middle of the pack and its good for my needs.
After all these years, isn't it about time to give a definitive decibel readout whenever testing Mazdas (& all makes for that matter). I could hear it while you were talking on the drive. On a presentation note, how about a bit more of the dash readings et al & a little less over the top humourous persona attempts. Apart from that, it was an 'okay' nibble at a road test.
Where did you hear this? Mazda is making some of the best transmissions right now. Most competitors are the ones with problems with their crappy CVT's and 8 and 9 speed units.
Our 2017 Kia Optima SXL drives quick and quiet and comfortably returns 34 MPG on the highway...Grab the paddle shifters and you're off and running...wish it had all wheel drive as the front Michelins can protest in a corner!
Jurietto Mitshi Kunai That is the point, so you shouldn’t messing with your phone. Lack of android auto amd apple carplay is one of the biggest complaint in mazda’s infotainment system.
One of the best looking cars on sale in Australia in my opinion.......it just needed a decent engine and finally its got one.
LucasVWGolfR 2.5 litre petrol turbo sounds good ☺
the rear is meh.. but yeah otherwise pretty gud.
The 2.2 diesel is a phenomenal engine, it's a shame I feel I need to go down the route of a petrol with my replacement - it is a completely different drive and much less fun. The bad rap that diesel gets is not entirely deserved.
It needs a v6, rwd or awd, suspension rework and it will be a kia stinger competitor
Prefer the 2.5 NA tbh. It has a more linear power delivery
In term of design wise, Mazda 6 is look better than camary 2018 and accord
I think Mazda 6 is the best looking car in it's segment. Thumbs up for this Informative and substantial review.
Not really clear on why it gets 7.5 out of 10, with so few flaws. Sounds more like a solid 9 to me!
Didn't make sense to me, either.

Very nice. The Mazda 6 has always been great
Woohoo its finally here. I'm planning on getting the touring wagon.
Well I'd like to get a sedan, but the wagon suites my needs better.

Mark i think the weight gain is the extra sound proofing materials to help suppress the road noise.
sound proofing does not weight 150Kg, it has to be steel. I'm asking myself if they improved safety for new ncap?
LOVE how this guy reviews cars!
Handsome car. Might be my next car
Great review!
I am getting a red sedan Mazda 6.
But here in Sweden the turbo isn’t available. 2.5 liter. 194 hp.
More than I need.

Great review... Energetic presentation and entertaining without being overbearing. Comprehensive review.
Mark Rocque fantastic comment..
Most Mazda 6 have always had good looks
This great beautiful car gets just a 7.5 out of 10? Deserves a bit more in my opinion!

19" low profile wheels - an affliction every sports car suffers with
Your best one yet pete. Sacs
Small center console box,

No fog lights
In case of led light dead, needs to change whole headlight.

It looks like a jaguar to me. So cool.
But without the bad points!😁
Looking at front I see Jaguar XE
Sounds like an ad rather than a review. Was hoping to see more about the tech in the car. I'm already sold on Mazda6. Disappointed with the lack of actual review content.
The tech is amazing, except for the lack of Android Auto

Cool review. Seemed honest. 👍🏼
I got one. It’s awesome!!
How is the infotainment and the speakers i love cars with good radio

@@dccorallo thanks the 2018/19 is looking really good am interested in getting it

Is the car a 6 cylinder or turbo please let me know....
Glad to hear they are finally sorting out the terrible road noise issue.
Do you think Mazda 6 will change to Mazda vision in 2020?? Thanks!!
No
this reviewer is hilarious .. excellent review though
So what's not perfect????
I couldn't hear you as you drove along the boulevard.
Don’t understand why Mazda doesn’t use gas struts for the bonnet?
Weight. The paint is also thin, because of weight saving. Wish they were gas struts, because that bonnet is heavy.
Diesel or the Turbo Petrol ? ...
Value for money an quality car
why is the car 150kg heavier?
Lot of extra sound deadening material is the main part.
this is my next car I hope lol,
Mazda 6 vs Lexus IS300H?
New tyre new seats new exhaust new headlight new engine why can't you just say new Mazda
I heard that Mazda Automatic transmission is not reliable..?
Paramjit Kumar it’s reliable veer g. My mates been driving one for over two years now. Koi v problem nahi ditti transmission ne!
Where did you hear this? Mazda is making some of the best transmissions right now. Most competitors are the ones with problems with their crappy CVT's and 8 and 9 speed units.
Why front wheel drive
Our 2017 Kia Optima SXL drives quick and quiet and comfortably returns 34 MPG on the highway...Grab the paddle shifters and you're off and running...wish it had all wheel drive as the front Michelins can protest in a corner!
There are no foglights because they are not needed anymore
Is this a FWD or RWD?
This is (the 6 and the 2 and the 3 are the same) Front drive car, the MX5 is Rear drive one.
It's a nice car, but we can't buy it in Korea ㅜㅜ
take a shot everytime he says new 😂
We are here to see the car not you
It's not new. It's just a face lift
Still no CarPlay or Android Auto
You can upgrade if you have a Mazda with MZD Connect: www.carsguide.com.au/car-news/mazda-introduces-apple-carplay-android-auto-upgrade-kits-71653
Yes there is. All 6's being sold now have it.
As we see the video📽🎥📺📹, Mazda would have started making same front - back end for rest of the models. 🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘🚙🚙🚙
Mazda...it’s 2018...no android auto or Apple Carplay as standard?
metric85 the car is to drive not to connect your phone. You shouldnt be messing with your phone anyways.
Jurietto Mitshi Kunai That is the point, so you shouldn’t messing with your phone. Lack of android auto amd apple carplay is one of the biggest complaint in mazda’s infotainment system.
Mazda is releasing Apple play and android auto later as an update that would cost anyone who buys a 2018 now.
@@KC-he6kc £350. Hugely expensive

sounds like an advertorial
Really?
The mirrors are NOT new. Get your facts straight. 0:50
GVC doesn't use brakes 7:30
