I agree as a NZer the Aussie and NZ music artists during the 80's was incredible. But for me John Farnham was top such a high range of notes he could & still can is awesome.
Most still do really. Only here in NZ & Aussie do we regularly still hear the great music our artists made. What true Aussie or Kiwi doesn't know music from John, Crowded House, Dragon, Men at Work etc.
I typed in "John Farnham Reaction", and there are thousands to choose from, including this wonderful channel. All over the world, they are blown away by John's voice. They love him too.
Please do check out John Farnham's rendition of The Beatles' song, "Help", live on stage. The Beatles said that John's version surpassed their one and it was the best that they had heard.
John Lennon contacted John Farnham to tell him how much he loved the Farnham version of Help. Lennon said that The Beatles had wanted to do it the way Farnham did, but the record company wouldn't let them, because it didn't fit the image that they were crafting for The Beatles at the time.
@@michelecollin6150 The more I hear this story the more I think it’s just an urban legend. Farnham himself has said that he knows that Lennon heard the song, but that he doesn’t know what Lennon thought of it.
Yes guys definitely a song for 2 beautiful people such as yourselves. John ( The Voice ) Farnham is a legend over here in Australia. The rest of the world never got the chance to witness him in his prime. I was lucky enough to see him in Brisbane live and he loves his audience/fans as you just witnessed.. But thanks to guys like you, you are appreciating Australian classics.. 👍🏾👍🏾 Dan from Australia
@@neildods9197 True he was ten when he moved over to the greatest nation on earth Then later cut all ties with England and then became a Australian citizen Then later was Australian of the year Most of us can trace our family tree back to England But we generally don't like to talk about it lol 😂 Hope you have a safe and happy Christmas 🎄
@@neildods9197 Ask John. He'll tell you he's an Aussie. It's all about the environment that you were raised in and the impact and conditioning that has had upon you. My older siblings were born in the UK and came to Oz at 7 and 9 years old but would NEVER consider themselves as anything but Australian. We view our relatives in the UK as not as us. The culture here is different to that in the UK and unique to Australians. The FEELING of being Australian flows through John's music. Australian is his identity.
You mention the other guys on stage. The amount of talent he draws for his band is off the charts. Jack Jones on electric guitar there is a monster guitarist and vocalist in his own right, David Hirschfelder on keys is a world renown composer, Wayne Nelson followed John from the Little River Band, Phil Buckle on acoustic would later invite Jack Jones to his band, the Southern Sons. Vanetta Fields is an American born Australian who has performed with Tina Turner, Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones. There's a reason his concerts are immaculate
Plus, he retains the bandmembers over the years. They go off and do other things, but whenever Farnsy has a 'farewell tour' the bandmembers are the same
The beautiful thing about John apart from his voice and he’s a genuine down to earth Aussie bloke is that when people in his band have solo’s he introduces them and kind of stands back so they are in the limelight. He’s so humble. Not an artist that has ever thought “it’s all about me” like some artists these days. He’s a very funny country boy. I’ve loved and enjoyed our John for decades. Even now he’s like 70 and he still has it.
The amazing thing about John is he has so much power in his voice and he would only be using 20% of it and he sounds like this. Imagine if he used 100%. He walks and jumps and dances while belting out tunes with ease.
John Farnham is an absolute blast to see live no matter if you are a little kid or an older person. It's wholesome entertainment for the whole family. John is also a really great guy, everyone in Australia loves him and I mean EVERYONE.
Have seen John Farnham in concert 3 times and he always give a fantastic time. Very down to earth and very funny too. So glad you love our Aussie icon. 🇦🇺💕
Dei here. I tip my hat to you, Them G. Was great to see you on the live chat. You've completely wrecked my Tuesday night. I've been watching these reactions at least twice over each time! I've come close to requesting Models before, I actually requested "Good Times" but was told it was already on the queue! You, Travis and Suzi have made this such a fun night! I'm thinking I may need to share a little Dragon or Icehouse... lol! I think it's difficult to describe John Farnham to people outside of Australia. He had his first hit as a child ("little Johnny Farnham") in the 60's. For Australia, imagine rolling up all 4 Beatles into 1 person, and you get John Farnham. A national treasure, a true legend.
I fucken love you guys, from New Zealand, appreciate your love of music,Johns our neighbor from Australia which we have loved for decades, amazing voice,I hope you’ve listened to little river band too x
John Farnham was in Little River Band for a while during the 1980s replacing the original singer Glenn Shorrock. John started in the mid - late 1960s in Australia. You should see him do You’re the Voice at the 2020 Fire Fighters Benefit with Brian May of Queen, 2 indigenous Australians 1 on digeridoo one singing ‘in language’, oh and Olivia Newton-John joined them as well. He was singing great especially when you consider he was about 70 years old at the time
John farnham is one of the best male singers of all time. End of story. The next male singer to carey his legacy in modern time is another Australien named Guy Sebastian. Amazing voice.
Love how happy you guys are so happy smiling, farnsy is awesome look for help by the Beatles he did awesome. He wanted only to be only known in Australia. He is humble
just watch this one wow so much of my childhood came back . growing up listion to him and the storys mum and them family about living next door to his wifebefore they got married and he became big ,he is amazing and has song with some of the best . and yes very funny laybackman
Guys... dead serious... I'm a 60yo dude and I actually had tears watching you both enjoy this vid... John Farnham is one of our legends... the guy's an awesome performer, vocalist and all-round dead set good aussie bloke... much loved by all.. as you can see by the audience... cheers for sharing...
You guys are just the coolest! I love how both of just enjoy the music and are free to express, Travis you are already part of the band and Suzie you could lead the backing singers. You guys freaking rock! Thank you for making smile
Hi Travis and Susie. I have a suggestion for a reaction. An Aussie female singer from the late 80's named Gyan (surname Evans) . The song "wait". Amazing voice I'm sure you'll be impressed!
Very few artists these days include the audience. This how you win their hearts. Sing with them, not just at them. Too many artists these days are worried about how they'll look on film......well take it from John, you will look like a warm human being. Rehearsed to death so it looks so natural when they deal with anything. And that is why John has such a great time - he knows how to deal with anything on stage.
💯% agree with those requesting you react to 'Touch of Paradise' and 'Help'. Take your socks of before playing the latter... or they'll be blown into another state!
You mentioned all the instruments there are members of at least 3 Aussie icon bands and the backup singers are all accomplished solo acts in their own right .please check out John's version of the Beatles song HELP John Lennon said it was the best cover he'd heard and he wrote it. My favourite song is Angels featuring his back up singer Lisa and it is phenomenal
Haha the choreo... Lisa tried to teach John that for ages...then she gave up ! He can't stand still long enough to finish it - I think he did do it for a short time on the official MV... but he wouldn't say how many takes it took haha 😊
A man's most attractive quality is tenderness... This is often portrayed as a radical concept of maleness... However the greater strength of tenderness has been playing the leading role in the history of the human race... It was not by muscle or fang that the species, man, triumphed over a hostile environment, but by the quality of tenderness contained within our minds... The merely tough became extinct while the tender PAVED the way for the human race... The HEALTHY husband is the gentle, considerate, tender male. He is monogamy's tower of strength.
As a Kiwi being quite competitive and a bit fighty with Aussie (in a little brother way) I can find no fault with Farnsy and consider him an Australasian treasure.
Hey guys. Please check out Emperor Loss and Curse of Reverence preferably the live version, I know how you guys love live videos and trust me, epic song by the Magnum Opus band in the Black Metal genre
Unfortunately Glenn Wheatley, promoter, agent and long-time friend of John Farnham - the man behind the voice - past away due to complications of Covid-19. RIP Glenn Wheatley
One of my personal favourites!
Off you go down the John Farnham rabbit hole. Enjoy the ride ❤
I always think the rest of the world missed out so much on Australian and New Zealand music of the 80s. It was such an amazing time.
I agree as a NZer the Aussie and NZ music artists during the 80's was incredible. But for me John Farnham was top such a high range of notes he could & still can is awesome.
100% agree x

I think you two look more animated in this video than any of your other John Farnham reactions. It’s such a great song! 😊
There is also a video of John introducing his band. It shows his sense of humor and the strong friendship he has with his band.

“We stick together like the honey and the bee”
Prayers for John Farnham who is battling cancer, hope you will all pray with me.
Please do check out John Farnham's rendition of The Beatles' song, "Help", live on stage. The Beatles said that John's version surpassed their one and it was the best that they had heard.
Oh God his version of the Beetles song HELP is 100% better than the Beetles version. I can’t stand there version. John turned it into total emotion.
Fully agree. they'd have their socks blown off!!

@@michelecollin6150 Yes, that's correct but I believe that John Farnham's version would still be better that anything the Beatles would have done.
@@michelecollin6150 The more I hear this story the more I think it’s just an urban legend. Farnham himself has said that he knows that Lennon heard the song, but that he doesn’t know what Lennon thought of it.

Great song.
The 3 backing vocalist; Lindsey Field, Vanetta Fields and Lisa Edwards were a mainstay of Farnseys sound for years.

He walks and jumps and dances while belting out tunes with ease.
Proud Aussie listening from Bondi Beach Sydney Australia...That's freedom another John Farnham anthem🇭🇲
