    I love Goodwill. I get too many of my things for experiments there, such as a 3 dollar vacuum cleaner that I turned into a leaf blower by taking the top off.

    Great video! You should make a video of a *MacGyver Challenge* of some kind with rules like:
    1. You have 30 minutes to 1 hour in a GoodWill to get what you need
    2. You have a predetermined budget
    3. It has to be a fan suggestion
    4. Have a MacGyver Mullet
    5. Have a backstory - your evil cats are _____________ and you have to make _____________ in order to _____________.
    Anyway I learned a lot and like how your presented the information. If was informative, simple, and to the point, and I really appreciate the effort you put in to do that. And man, turning the speaker into a microphone...I was literally blown away. Keep up the great work.

      I have been toying with something similiar myself, I definitely like the addition of the mullet, lol! Really appreciate the suggestion, I'll definitely bump it higher up in my priority list of coming videos!

    Nice video. . And educational. . That speaker would make a great mic for something like a bass drum

      That's an interesting thought, would be fun to explore different speakers as mics, and their relevant applications!

    I think a sock would have been a more effective as a pop filter.

    Cheapest way to get a pop filter is to go to a shoe store and swipe a few of those disposable nylon socks they usually have in the ladies section.

    I love content like this based on being super frugal .. I love to fuck with shit from goodwill .. One time i took a speaker out of a shitty keyboard ... Reversed the wires turning it to a mic .. Broke apart one of those cheap dollar store spring microphones and by god it fucking fit perfect right in it .. I ended up attaching the spring inside to a hook on the back of speaker and it actually provided some kind of reverb ... Anyway after that i just sold it to one of my "dubstep" friends so he could have unique content for his instagram

    What is a pot filter? I did something similar but just twisted wire to hold some packing foam around the mic. Before that it would hear me breathing and swallowing. I still need to speak at a certain volume level and at exactly 3 inches away, or it sounds bad. Do all mics require a consistent distance?

    • @TheRainHarvester
      @TheRainHarvester 5 лет назад

      You can hear me in this video. I had to record the entire thing in one take (no edit) because the simulation is always running.

      A pop filter helps to stop sudden surges of air (pops) from breathing etc. Yes, most microphones are tempermental when it comes to distance! Make sure your foam isn't too thick, or that may block too much sound.
