I mean the opening scene of EP1 kind of sets the tone regarding Terminator v Protagonist. You see her tank hits and get grappled without instantly dying (not to mention stormtrooper aim from minigun) and either you accept they have plot armor so they don't insta-die or you turn it off right there and then. There's a reason the movies were basically one long chase scene whenever the good guys actually ran into the T800 / T1000.
One thing to note about the minigun issue is that James Cameron himself stated during the part where Uncle Bob used the minigun on the cops at the Cyberdyne building there were no sparks because there were no ricochets since those could harm or kill the human cops and the Terminators in general have such good targeting software/aim in general that they don't miss in those situations. Even the video game, Terminator: Resistance, has you dealing with T-800s regularly once you hit the hospital level (mainly hiding from them as you lack plasma weapons until the next level) and they are very accurate even at long ranges. Blowing off their arms is possible via explosives, but it only ever destroys one arm and they will just get right back up, walk up to you, and attempt to grab you so they can crush your throat. Seriously, if you're a fan of the first two films, especially the Future War segment, give that game a shot, Teyon showed more love to the franchise and fans than the last two films easily.
T2: Judgement Day had the best ending for the series and they continue to undermine it at every turn with the same premise over and over again. I would be fine if they all said each movie(except for the first 2) were simply alternate timelines due to how time and space actually works, which would explain the reused premise - but no, it's all the same timeline in the same exhausted universe.
Well not only do they establish this is an alternate timeline but it also retroactively makes every Terminator after the second one an alternate timeline as well.
Most of the issues people have with this anime are something that is hardcoded from the Terminator movies. Since the T1 and T2 use the Terminator as a constant threat chasing MCs ala slasher horror villain character. The MC will also be constantly gonna be able to get away up until the final confrontation. The terminator will be as accurate with its aim and will easily kill humans if the narrative needs it to and it will have really bad aim and be less calculative and pragmatic when dealing the Mc which will allow them to get away. Some humans will be able to take blows from the Terminator like in the movies. etc, ect. This anime is well recieved because it understands what makes a Terminator story be Terminator. To people who basically don't appreciate the movies as much probably won't get the anime's main charm and it would be at best be just an "average" show for them.
Gotta say, I had pretty low expectations for this because the last thing we got from the Terminator franchise majorly was Dark Fate, and that was a wet fart that already followed up the trainwreck that is Genisys. However, I did really enjoy this show. Felt like there was at least a semblance of originality and passion put into it.
Yeah, except for the fact the time traveler lady miracously survided a hand to hand combat with a T-800 (several hits on the back with a metal arm, I mean, even if that doesn't kill you wouldn't be able to walk for sometime, or even ever..), I though the show was, just fine, the twist with Malcolm being from the future was good imo, but other that, as a whole the series it wasn't like mindblowing or anything..
NGL but i don't have a problem with the plot armor of Eiko because something is revealed about her in the last episode that makes sense as to why she has plot armor vs that Terminator
That's fair, although I still think she should've been incapacitated by those hits. He crushes her hand in the last episode. Maybe he isn’t allowed to kill her, but he should be able to get pretty close.
I'm not sure why people expect every Terminator to be as intimidating as the first Terminator from the first film. Like, this is the survival horror Resident Evil problem. Zombies are at their scariest and most dangerous when there are only a few of them, but nobody knows anything about them and has no experience dealing with them. People have been fighting Terminators for years now, and there are probably millions of them in the future. If they were all perfect killing machines, there would be no series. Humanity would have lost already. You have to accept some level of plot armor for stories to make sense. You can always write better plots, like having half-robot protagonists or whatever but this Terminator also somehow swam or walked out of super deep water. He can't be that heavy. How heavy or strong Terminators are is not ever going to be consistent. And getting caught up on the plot armor in the face of good storytelling is really missing the forest from the trees.
It was alright imo. Makes me think of the edge runner anime which is really liked. But the fact that I was trapped on an airplane between 2 Chinese woman that kept giving me weird looks may have played into that.
@@nathanskywalker1536even though that's not the best that the terminator have to offer, it's still one of the most gruesome thing I ever seen. That explains what the terminator is perfectly. The 3rd movie establishes that you CAN NOT change the past with the Predestination Paradox. You cannot change events that would result in a time traveler to go back in time to happen, if you have a time traveler in the past. The moment you go back time from a period where there is a time machine, that time is set to happen. Also, can we talk about how bad of a father Malcom is? Damn, i thought it was gonna be kinda rough but was hoping it would be kinda good. This review showed that i was wrong about it hopefully being good anyway. Also, in Terminator and T2, Sarah Connor and other humans have to outrun the main Terminator threat, even as badass as she was in the second movie Sarah couldn't fist fight a hulking metal man and what you said is correct, the lead lady should've had her back broken, heck, she shouldve died. I mean they had the Terminator crush a dudes neck like a grape but, she's able to fight it hand to hand when, no other protagonist has. The only one i can think of is John Connor in Salvation and he gets tossed around like a human sized ragdoll.
Terminator Zero is alright, but if you are truly a fan of the franchise, watch T1, T2, and The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Best trilogy with an open ending. TZero even fits in with the three. Honestly I think T Zero took A LOT from Connor Chronicles
Its the best Terminator property we've gotten probably since T2, but was it actually good? Not really. It had a few good scenes and ideas, but overall it was nothing special. It was good for a one time watch while doing your dailies and ended when it needed to. What was inexcusable however, is the English dialogue. I heard English was its primary language and Japanese was just a dub, but I simply can't comprehend how that's possible. There were several scenes where the characters expressions didn't match the words they were saying in the slightest in English, meanwhile the Japanese voices fit perfectly. So if you are going to watch this, I recommend watching the Japanese dub, although fair warning, the English subs are equally as bad.
The first 4 episodes were crap & felt like an animu remake of T2 & 3 but thankfully the last 4 episodes went in a direction that none of the movies did where Japan turns into Society 5 powered up by a sentient AI & then the conflict revolves around the AI deciding on if if concurred with Skynet's final assessment of humanity. i long for the day we get a leak on the real viewer statistics for individual shows on these streaming sites. Everyone knows they only survive thanks to old shows. If the public and investors knew the real numbers it would be a real shake up for the entertainment industry.
While watching it, I was just thinking, this is just like a way longer version of the first movie but not nearly as good. The movie was efficient while the show meandered at times. And what was that lame philosophy stuff with Malcolm the entire time, dude you were just attacked by a Terminator and now chasing your kids, dont run to work and have a argument with your AI about humanity. I dropped it at ep 4 when I saw the Terminator kill a whole police department. I saw this, a better version, in the original Terminator movie. It is at this point I realized this is just riding off the greatness of the 1st movie where the differences are just lame and bad. I wasnt going to waste my time further with this and dropped it.
What I can say if you are a fan and you like the first two movies check it out I like the show it definitely has T1 and T2 vibes but I didn't like the ending
King of the Hill is an anime. I will fight with the Japanese on this hill. That show is _still_ one of the most popular shows in the country. If King of the Hill can be anime, it's all anime.
Yeah I didn't enjoy it as much. I have loads of complaints. Could've been worse though. Could've been Dark Fate. But just because everything after T2 was pretty bad to varying degrees, doesn't make this one great. Oh and the Terminator design looked goofy and off, both 2D/3D.
Series was nothing great just hyped up by media. I have checked out of this IP since T2 so when that quality comes back to this franchise I don't care anymore.
I stopped watching after two episodes X D Somehow it appears bland to me. With uninteresting characters (damn, these kids are annoying) mostly and the visuals are also on more of a mid-to-low level I would say. Yes, some backgrounds looking nice, but aside from it, I wonder if we are really in 2024. I mean, the scene in which terminators are made is so visually bad. Especially for our current year. Looking back at ghost in the shell, which was from 1995!, it falls entirely flat. With all the techniques we have today, with all the advancement, Execs are still producing worse stuff than we had 30 years ago.
7:21 I'm gonna do a humanism here. Metal is harder than muscle. Hydraulic press motion can produce tons of weight. She should be tenderized meat just from one punch, and mush from one grip. You can easily test that with the weakest hydraulic car jack you can find online, and the terminator is using future tech made by powerful AIs. It will be much, much stronger that exist today that can fit in the space of an arm, or a hand. Now comes the sexism part. Looks like another girl boss movie where women defy the laws of the universe because of feminism. I'm so fed up with this shit. Can you at least show her train next to Gods and saints like Goku so I can get a feeling of the power scale? No! She can do anything because wamen power. Naruhodo, I see, gotcha... ahh.. so tired.. Now comes the prophesy part. And because of this whole critique, she's gonna be added a lore dump in the next season, about how she's actually a hybrid, like that skinny chick from the last horrible movie. It's just so predictable at this point. What I got from what you're saying, is to not waste time in it. Because as the story goes, there's nothing there, as usual. And it would be fun to watch if I haven't seen the orignal BloodTLV, or Hellsing, or similar series to enjoy the action at least, but since I've been there, done that, now that's just boring to me.
To be fair, malcolm managed to kick the terminator away from his car, so she is not the only one who managed to do something quite insane, I dont really see this series as a feminism girl boss kind of movie, she did crimes and she got to pay for it, until the robots decided to kill her captors that is. To me, it is just the show being inconsistent with how strong the terminator is. Which is a flaw by itself.
@@DemiCape Of couse ANY normal human shouldn't be able to kick a terminator away. Those things must weight at least 200-500kg, and are supported by powerful motors, and hydraulics like the Boston robotics dogs that are tiny in comparison, and yet you can't kick those away. I know a lot of people say this is better than anything made after T2, but like you say, they don't know how to do power scaling, while they did it in T2. And as far as the woke stuff, sure, I'm biased as fck! Why shouldn't I be? It's not as if I don't have that shit thrown down my throat for the past decade or more. James Cameron needs to do a special edition of T1, George Lucas style, and smoothen out that stop-motion.
T2 is better. I love t1 tho
Your mention is right, we have Vivy already, and this two show just uncomparable (at least in visual aspects). After Vivy this new terminator looks like really mediocre.
Yeah this one was about as mid as they come. I watched it all, but that's not saying much. The older brother was so annoying...
Whem a anime about vampire dads is the most interesting thing to watch, to me at least
Don't you agreed
Netflix on a crusade to try to make anime worse.
They want slop and "anime" is just a convenient buzzword to them
i long for the day we get a leak on the real viewer statistics for individual shows on these streaming sites. Everyone knows they only survive thanks to old shows. If the public and investors knew the real numbers it would be a real shake up for the entertainment industry.
oh Terminator is the piece of art, you gotta check out 1.. this one was alright, pro AI, very progressive
so cringe
What I can say if you are a fan and you like the first two movies check it out I like the show it definitely has T1 and T2 vibes but I didn't like the ending
i gave up 5min in, the minigun missing every shot was trash.
Fucking same, as soon as I saw that I dipped immediately
Y'all are 12.

King of the Hill is an anime. I will fight with the Japanese on this hill. That show is _still_ one of the most popular shows in the country. If King of the Hill can be anime, it's all anime.
Got irritated in episode 2 and was out
Terminator 1 imo is the only good film in the franchise I think 2 is a massively overrated pos.
I watched it, mid af.
I stopped watching after two episodes X D
Somehow it appears bland to me.
So yeah, I prefer strait, white, male role for action from now on. I don't care about other shows. Shit, I consider House of the dragon kind feminist and woke, so I don't watch it. Too many women and minorities. I'm just fed of the shit, man. I had enough of bs.
Nobody was excellent.
Extraction was ok.
A man named Otto was excellent.
fck. I only want those movies now.
You know that Red Sonja series? I predict it's gonna be shit. Can you really blame me?
This show is garbage. After like 3 eps, me and my friend ended up just laughing at how shitty is was and switching to another better anime
So your not actually Christian????
What
@CulturedCrusader No I was just wondering if you were a Christian or if it was like a gimmick only. Just curious wasn't trying to be rude.
Nope, not a gimmick. Well, I guess the crusader part is. But I am Catholic.
@CulturedCrusader Cool! I am also a Christian, though not Catholic. I enjoy your content it's pretty funny and obviously I like anime.
@CulturedCrusader Also an anime I think you'll enjoy and would like to see you cover is Ghost Hound. A supernatural psychological mystery thriller. Think a supernatural Serial experiments lane, since thar is scifi
Holy shit this anime was so boring. A local charity meeting was more exciting than this fucking garbage. The biggest sin was that it was a terminator anime. A franchise japan stole from during its heyday.
Im pretty sure America ruined the terminator franchise before it was "stolen" by the Japanese
tell me you did not watch a single terminator movie without saying it moment
