Very good review! Love your videos TC! Just bought me this gun but the compact for $369.99 after rebate. Great gun and super underrated. Very accurate too!
Love the look of this gun. From all the reviews I've seen the trigger doesn't sound worthy of this gun and there doesn't seem to be any real replacement triggers around for it. I found one and says it improves the trigger but doesn't change the weight of the trigger!? Love to see a comparison to the Sar 9 Socom which appears to be damn near identical in weight and size. Even Colion says the Sar 9 Socom is a keeper. Waiting for my Socom and a Tisas Px9 Duty with TB to arrive at my FFL. Read nothing but positive reviews on the PX9 and the Socom. Still considering this APX Tactical while the $100 rebate is still available. It really looks like the HK VP9 tactical in green and something tells me that wasn't by mistake. I see no mention of support for the Shield RMS/c for this gun?? I saw people complain about the magazines not locking on last round from those that purchased these magazines from their website.
Excellent review as always. My son is intending to get one and my daughter is looking at the compact for edc. Honest, solid reviews are a great asset to the whole firearms/2a family.
Well, since the 9mm is the handgun standard (IMO), it's all about monetary competition. Striker fired vs. hammer fired DA/SA, compensated or not, MOS or not, trigger pull, well on and on. So your choices are Wilson Combat SFX9 vs. Taran Tactical 2011 on the high-end or striker fired polymer pistols on the low-end. It's your choice depending upon cost, action, and semi-customization or full customization.
I was watching your reloads and I think I have something that can help you. Put your buggar finger along the thin portion of the slide pointing to the tip of the exposed round. Use that to index to the mag well. When I was the armorer at the department I tested tons of guns and a competition shooter taught me the because I blamed all the different types of mags. Now it doesn’t matter what mags I’m loading the all feel the same because I’m using the same method.
I purchased an Px4 storm in 9mm. Great gun except the plastic trigger make it feel cheap. & if beretta had an aftermarket steel trigger or anything customizable,I may would have kept it. I also have an m9a3 in black,I love that gun. Excellent nostalgia. Please do a versus video with the p10c. 🙏
I keep hearing nothing but positive things about the Beretta Apx A1, the only thing I am curious about is the mag release button looks easy to accentually engage or hit, but I am curious to try it out now.
@@regularguyprepper This is the best value in the world bro, Italian engineering is unsurpassed, its only so affordable because Italy is going through very tough times.

Good luck finding one that comes with the 21 round magazines! I've been trying to buy one for a week now and they are out of stock everywhere. And I did however just purchase a Beretta M9A4 flat dark earth and it's absolute perfection!
I am a much bigger fan of the original APX. I do like the new version but not a fan of the slide finish. At least on mine it looks pretty cheap. The Tactical does seem like a good value. Thank you for the video!
Depends I am always testing different things due to the channel .. super light clothing. I will carry my 43x mos, 365xl, normal shirt jeans could be my cr920P to a walther pdp F. I am not saying to change edc all the time but I do it to get a feel for each pistol so I can convey that to an audience.
I’m seeing these right now for 450 and I would buy one in a minute. The only hangup I have is, I was researching holsters, and I don’t see much of anything on a duty holster.
Showing the fuck ups speaks to your integrity and it’s part of why I subscribed. I only watch guys like you that aren’t afraid to show that stuff because if you show us that then you’ll definitely show us the gun malfunctioning if it does. Keep it up.
I had one of the original centurion models and it shot great, easy to manage recoil and just an overall good pistol. I ended up gifting it to my Dad for Father’s Day a few years back. That’s a great price for the A1 tactical especially with 3 21 round mags. Might have to get back in the APX game. Great review!!
What type of red dot do you have on it so I know where to buy it I just purchased mine. Can’t wait to get it. Thanks for the great content by the way.🎉
Great video as usual. I was just looking into one about a week ago. I did a couple dry fires at the shop. Decided to pass on it . Trigger felt grittier than a glock. I might look into it again. After watching your review and a few others. Stay safe brother and God Bless you and yours..
I agree I was impressed with the, trigger. Much better than a stock Glock trigger as I was comparing them side by side in the gun shop. Harder to impress me I run cz and have the pdp pro. But it’s solid.
@@TacticalConsiderations do you know if you take the slide off and press down on the sear . If it pushes down like a canik or Walther. Or does it stay place like a stock glock? If it stays in place, it's a true drop safe.
The lock back is a legit issue. Been reported on gunt store sites, multiple RUclips videos, etc. It's the only reason I haven't picked this one up yet. I really want this gun for my collection, since I skipped out on the apx.
@@TacticalConsiderationsut in an empty mag, it will most likely roll over the follower. With round in the mag it does not happen often, and It work well with ejecting the last round after a spring stretch. But with an empty mag the issue happens a lot more often.
It is the apx a1 tactical issue, the spring was a temp fix at the range. I had that issue on mine tactical out the box with all 3 mags. The slide lock mechanism has a defect. Beretta replaced it and now no failure to lock back after the slide lock was replaced.
Just watching your range footage this thing looks like your PDP footage. Though, like you said in the video, it has a really low bore axis. This thing looks sick, I’ll add it to the ever growing list.
I would love to check one out but none of my local shops have gotten any in that I know of. I really like Beretta's. I have the 92X and it one of my go to fun guns and really one of the softer shotting guns I have. I will check one out the first time I can run into one. Great videos Brother keep them rolling.
I have a APX A1, I would like to know what holster you used in your review video. I want to get a level three holster but can't find one (YET) to fit. My APX A1 has a Stream light TLR-1 and a Holosun EPS and a small compensator. I know the holster you used was NOT a retention holster but it would be better than nothing till one is made for my pistol.
Can you do a video on the whole searies I know some of these have improved triggers because of a competition striker and some have differnt recoil springs they al have differnt sight options grip ect. Trying figure out Wich one to get some come with red dot some tritium some fibrotic or suppressor hight black out and there all similar priced not sure if they all have the same amount of mags ?
Lol. Thank you for not editing those reloads out! I’m really debating if I want to take advantage of the rebate. I’d like to see one of these with the beretta OEM comp springs in.
Great comparison. The echelon seems to be a bit more refined overall. Better slide work, better trigger, overall profile and the COG system seems easier.
The slide lock does that on a brand new gun with brand new factory mags from Beretta. I have an APX A-1 that came with the Burris Fastfire 3 and 2 17rd mags. The 17 round mags have no issues with the slide locking back. I purchased 4 of the 21rd mags and none of them lock the slide back and one of them had a straight up spring failure after the first round was fired. I took both the 17 and 21rd mags apart and it looks like they used the same spring for both. I'm thinking this has something to do with the slide lock issue. Sent the 21rd mags back and just got some 17rd mags instead. I overall really like this pistol... She's def a keeper.
I have THE APX A1, now I want this one because I love the one I have now. My only complaint is that since it's optics ready, they should include some optics plates in the box.
Hey Mike, what holster are you using for the A1+light? Loved the review, as usual. You covered everything I needed to know & I want one! Thanks again & have an awesome week Brother!!!
For me, the APX series both 1st and 2nd generations are a home run for reliable self defense firearms/striker fire pistols for a competitive price. So underrated, I have no issues with these unlike Glock which I had constant jams approx every 70ish rounds on the 19.
Trying to decide between this model and the Compact version for a conceal carry. Any opinions between the two size wise? Is that tactical a little too big would you say?
Thank you for doing this review! I just got one but having a hard time finding a holster. I saw that you were using an Blackhawk omnivore with it. Did you have to modify it any to fit your apx a1 tactical or was it good to go from the start? Thank you again!!

Nice.
That changes based on the length of the magazine
I purchased an Px4 storm in 9mm.
Great gun except the plastic trigger make it feel cheap. & if beretta had an aftermarket steel trigger or anything customizable,I may would have kept it. I also have an m9a3 in black,I love that gun.
Excellent nostalgia.
Please do a versus video with the p10c.
🙏
I still don't own a M9, I will eventually get a Langdon version.
Great video, about time you get around to a Beretta!!
How about a review of the LTT 92 or PX4?
I know I have been sleeping.
Great video. I saw this gun priced at $500 at Scheels and I wondered what was the catch. This video convinced me to grab it. Here is a sub as well.
Not a bad price at all.
LOVE THE NEW A1 Tactical APX, i was wondering looking at the A1 21 Mag, will it fit my Berreta APX Centurion?
I think all of the apx ish pistols use the same mags.
I keep hearing nothing but positive things about the Beretta Apx A1, the only thing I am curious about is the mag release button looks easy to accentually engage or hit, but I am curious to try it out now.
I didn't do that at all and I got those big mitts for hands.
@@TacticalConsiderations Thanks for the info, because I also have sasquatch hands. I went out and bought the APX btw.
Never had that problem, it's not a design that is prone to me unintentionally engaging. Never accidentally happened to me ever.
@@clintwestwood1895 what is your impression on it? Initial thoughts?
@@regularguyprepper This is the best value in the world bro, Italian engineering is unsurpassed, its only so affordable because Italy is going through very tough times.
I never been a fan of Beretta because i thought they were heavy. This looks very interesting and would definitely be interested.
I agree with you on some of those.
The flubs are what I like that you added. Flub lyfe!!! I definitely like your review of this pistol. It’s why I value your opinion it comes from the right place.
Always the flub lyfe
Good luck finding one that comes with the 21 round magazines! I've been trying to buy one for a week now and they are out of stock everywhere. And I did however just purchase a Beretta M9A4 flat dark earth and it's absolute perfection!
They have been selling pretty fast.
I am a much bigger fan of the original APX. I do like the new version but not a fan of the slide finish. At least on mine it looks pretty cheap. The Tactical does seem like a good value. Thank you for the video!
I have heard people like the older finish more.
Not crazy about the new finish either.
Prefer the original one.
Thank you very much for reviewing this beautiful piece. I recently got mine and I love it.
Much appreciated .. Glad you are liking yours.
Well.....looks like you've introduced me to a new gun that I "need" to pick up!! LOL!! Thanks for another great vid Mike!!
Much appreciated its a solid performer.
A new contender for the nightstand gun just entered the chat, looking like the PDP Tac Model has some competition 🔥
Oh that PDP PRO SD is the jam.
Yep is between new A1 and that new Walther… I already have A0 but I think I’d still pick another A1 just because they’re that good
I have the original series. Love the appearance of this gun. Over all- it gives me a woodie.
Nice lol. It's a solid pistol
I just love my APX A1 FS, I want to add the tactical version to my collection. Thanks for this review
Its a great rig.
Nice to hear about a good pistol with left-handed controls. Will try it out at the range.
Hope you enjoy
Great review as always.
I have an out of topic question, when you're out as a civilian, what do you carry and at what position if concealing?
I think he carries a p365xl in aiwb.
@@TacticalConsiderations that’s why you’re the best reviewer, no bullshit.
Thanks for all the content you put out. Stay safe out there brother.
Much appreciated. Stay Ready!.
I’m seeing these right now for 450 and I would buy one in a minute. The only hangup I have is, I was researching holsters, and I don’t see much of anything on a duty holster.
Yup prices are all over and solid. Holsters are the pain for sure.
Showing the fuck ups speaks to your integrity and it’s part of why I subscribed. I only watch guys like you that aren’t afraid to show that stuff because if you show us that then you’ll definitely show us the gun malfunctioning if it does. Keep it up.
Its a lot of fun to laugh at yourself on the range or after. Many try to hide flubbs and appear perfect which isn' t real.
These are some of the most underrated pistols out right now and prices are great.
What type of red dot do you have on it so I know where to buy it I just purchased mine. Can’t wait to get it. Thanks for the great content by the way.🎉
I like the holosun for basic guns trijicon for duty stuff.
Great video as usual. I was just looking into one about a week ago. I did a couple dry fires at the shop. Decided to pass on it . Trigger felt grittier than a glock. I might look into it again. After watching your review and a few others. Stay safe brother and God Bless you and yours..
The trigger function feels much like a glock the trigger shoe feels a bit cleaner and flatter feeling.
Awesome video friend i have the APX A1 and love it may have to get this one for my collection lol
Awesome they are solid .
@@TacticalConsiderations NICE TY
The lock back is a legit issue. Been reported on gunt store sites, multiple RUclips videos, etc. It's the only reason I haven't picked this one up yet. I really want this gun for my collection, since I skipped out on the apx.
Mine was a spring issue for sure.
@@TacticalConsiderationsut in an empty mag, it will most likely roll over the follower. With round in the mag it does not happen often, and It work well with ejecting the last round after a spring stretch. But with an empty mag the issue happens a lot more often.
Loved mine for a week till I realized one of the optic cover bolts was seized in. Now it’s been shipped back for about two of the projected six weeks.
Ahhhh crap I had that happen on my walther PPD
Got the beretta apx full size it’s perfect man this tactical one tho I need this one
Good stuff man glad I found you subbed
Thanks for watching and commenting ..
It is the apx a1 tactical issue, the spring was a temp fix at the range. I had that issue on mine tactical out the box with all 3 mags. The slide lock mechanism has a defect. Beretta replaced it and now no failure to lock back after the slide lock was replaced.
Interesting I was wondering if it was me.
I have the same issue out the box. Not locking back when empty. Help please
@@Padrino713send it to beretta. They need to replace the slide release lever.
Waiting for it to arrive at my local gun shop, Any recommendations for the red dot ?
Best bang for the buck is still holosun
Waiting to see one if the new a1 compacts in my lgs. Bought my wife a gen 1 centurion apx and it’s as solid as any other well known handgun out there.
I just got on in for testing. Shall hit the range next week.
Just watching your range footage this thing looks like your PDP footage. Though, like you said in the video, it has a really low bore axis. This thing looks sick, I’ll add it to the ever growing list.
Its similar in feel during recoil.
I would love to check one out but none of my local shops have gotten any in that I know of. I really like Beretta's. I have the 92X and it one of my go to fun guns and really one of the softer shotting guns I have. I will check one out the first time I can run into one. Great videos Brother keep them rolling.
Much appreciated. They are solid options.
lol. taurus. Taurus is a kmart gun
I just bought one of these. It’s a little difficult finding a duty holster for this pistol. I noticed one in this video. Any suggestions?
I have a APX A1, I would like to know what holster you used in your review video. I want to get a level three holster but can't find one (YET) to fit. My APX A1 has a Stream light TLR-1 and a Holosun EPS and a small compensator. I know the holster you used was NOT a retention holster but it would be better than nothing till one is made for my pistol.
I used the blackhawk omnivore. its not a level 3 but decent for range work.
Awesome video brother! Thanks for what you do!
Much appreciated thanks for being here.
No problem. It happens when you run so many different platforms.
Given your very positive review of the echelon, how would you compare these in what would make you decide one way or the other?
Great comparison. The echelon seems to be a bit more refined overall. Better slide work, better trigger, overall profile and the COG system seems easier.
Great video. With the RMR installed can you get a sight picture with the suppressor height sights. Thank you!
Yes you have plenty of iron sight in the rmr window. Thanks for watching.
I agree I think some of them got the wrong springs maybe. .
I have THE APX A1, now I want this one because I love the one I have now. My only complaint is that since it's optics ready, they should include some optics plates in the box.
Its been a solid pistol.
Hey Mike, what holster are you using for the A1+light? Loved the review, as usual. You covered everything I needed to know & I want one! Thanks again & have an awesome week Brother!!!
I run the Blackhawk omnivore.
@@TacticalConsiderations Thanks Mike!!
For me, the APX series both 1st and 2nd generations are a home run for reliable self defense firearms/striker fire pistols for a competitive price. So underrated, I have no issues with these unlike Glock which I had constant jams approx every 70ish rounds on the 19.
The APX is solid for sure.
I didn't know you hadn't run these - I rep them For Beretta Blue Label and this is the #1 request.
Well crap.. We will discuss tonight.
Trying to decide between this model and the Compact version for a conceal carry. Any opinions between the two size wise? Is that tactical a little too big would you say?
The compact tactical is really solid as well .. I think if I had to choose I'd go compact
Thank you for doing this review! I just got one but having a hard time finding a holster. I saw that you were using an Blackhawk omnivore with it. Did you have to modify it any to fit your apx a1 tactical or was it good to go from the start? Thank you again!!
It was good to go out of the box on the holster fit. Thanks.
@Tacitcal Considerations. I was wondering if you ever got your hands on the Walther PDP PRO SD, full size or the compact? I loved watching your previous Walther videos and you mentioned about emailing Walther and possibly obtaining one! - Thanks!
Just got all the range footage of it done. Video soon
