I got a co-worker who bought a car from Carvana for years ago. Other than the usual regular maintenance, tire and brake replacement, he's had no issues with his Chevy Cruz. From his experience he also said it was a easy process. Much better than going to a dealership.
Thank you for the video! I bought a truck from Carvana back in 2017. I paid it off, received my title, and traded it in for a newer crossover. They gave me the best price on my trade-in. I have always enjoyed working with Carvana. That being said, I am waiting for my tags for the newer vehicle...praying there are no issues.
I have experience purchasing a car from Carvana about 3 years ago where the registration process went rather smoothly. I still drive that car today.

My registration process didn't go smoothly but they made it right. My temporary registration expired but they paid for me to get a rental until they were able to get the registration to me
I just bought a 2020 Hyundai Veloster n. With only 9k miles and it was just as represented in the photos. Even the (scratches) where easily buffed out. It was even better in person! It was one of the easiest car purchase I have ever had. The registration was smooth and came in FedEx express before the 30 day tag expired. The car was still under warranty and price was very fair. Only $190 for shipping at a vending machine. I even traded a car in and got an extra credit for trading. I would even consider buying from carvana again if they do survive. Hope your experience is a good one as mine was.
I wonder why so many other people are saying horrible things about them. I’m in desperate need of a car since mine is having issues. But I really can’t afford to lose any money with getting scammed. 😢

@@Mienboi821510 I have done a lot of researching but it’s half and half so far and I really don’t have the luxury to throw my money away right now. I feel like people have either really great experience or horrific ones. 🤷🏼♀️

My mom financed a 2011 Toyota Sienna but when she got the van it needed some mechanical work done to it but Carvana covered it. Had a hectic time the first couple of weeks but it's running smooth now
Pretty impressive that you had a good experience despite never having gone through the hell of dealing with car salesmen. Have you ever had to go to a sprint store or similar for your smartphone? Had to sit for a few hours after your appointment time, deal with horrible staff, etc? Imagine doing that for a good six hours for a $30k purchase with the whole experience designed to wear you down and get you to agree to pay numerous bullshit fees to add thousands more to the cost. If you've never experienced that and still had a good experience, I feel really good about my appointment to pick up a car later this week from a Carvana machine.
Thank you for your interview! Hopefully it all goes well. My husband and I just bought a 2022 Honda HR-V Sport with no down payment and only $290 for delivery! Our experience has been very amazing! A few things we will like to let people know if you are a customer from California. When you buy a car and if you have Progessive Insurance the Carvanna fine print says you have to wait 14 days until car insurance is considered insured. My husband and I have progressive so we have to choose 14 day later delivery so we won't encounter problems. Othere than that we are very happy. If you are looking to buy a car right now in 2023, Carvana has lots of cars with no down-payment. Some even no down-payment and no delivery fee. You can always put that on your search filter. Our monthly payment will $470 a month at a 10% APR. That is very cheap compare to dealerships. We both have good credit yet we where paying 28% in APR with our first dealer car 2013 hyundai sonata hybrid. It stopped working after 2 years! Car dealer never again!

My experience sucked. Kept me waiting for 3 weeks and they took $8500 from my account and no car. They decided after waiting 3 weeks that the car advertised on their sight wasn’t sellable. Went with Nissan dealership and got over 50% less APR 2021 armada platinum (2017 Carvana) with 20k+ miles(69k miles-Carvana) for same price.
I really appreciate this detailed review of your positive experience purchasing through Carvana! I'm having a car delivered from them on Friday, and throughout the process, I had a lot of the same worries as you did, especially with all of the negative reviews that are out there. Personally, I've had a good experience so far and it is relieving to see that someone else has too.

The whole requiring insurance before had is actually giving zero reassurance. This is because if you dont get your registration or your car shipping or pickup is delayed then u are still paying for the insurance. And they require you to insure it a few days before you pick it up or they cancel your pickup. A normal dealer lets u insure it after you come in to drive off with the vehicle.
I bought a 2017 equinox, awesome car! I paid outright, and it did take 2 months to get registration and title, so there was some time I could not drive it.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I am just about to purchase my car from carvana, financed through them. The price is good and they indicated some light scratches ahead of time that I am ok with. My one gripe is no coupons or discounts or negotiation and I love the back and forth and fight for a better deal. Maybe it’s my disagreeable nature being extroverted and more sales focused in general (watch Dr Peterson’s personality lecture series 2017, it will change your life). I am almost 90 percent there. It’s also a 3 hour drive from me too. My other concern is the plus warranty. In my area there are only a few shops on the silverrock map. A Firestone and a Mr Tire. Obviously you can see where I’m going. What if the car needs more major work under warranty. What do they do then? They told me they offer other free options to waive a deductible but I am just being cautious. The car looks good and has 57k miles. I’m about half through your video so I’ll keep watching. Still debating and thanks for sharing your experience.

How long was the dealership process of actually being IN the dealership after you had done all your paperwork online? From the paperwork to getting possession of the vehicle?
I have bought two vehicles through Carvana and have had nothing but great experiences with both purchases. Looking to do my third next year.
Thanks for the reassurance and putting me at ease. I’m a week out from getting my 2015 Chevrolet Silverado with only 18K miles on it. I’m also in VA (northern), but opted to get it delivered at home.

@@brynnagultoprak unfortunately my experience was horrible. Multiple delays and mixed messages from a lead in my local area. I ended up cancelling my trade-in and order. I did get full refund within 24 hours!
So true. And many traditional dealerships beg for 5 star reviews from customers. So many fluff reviews outweigh bad reviews for traditional dealerships. Also used car traditional dealerships do sell lemons too.
THANK YOU fir this review. I had 0 worries initially then started seeing all the bad reviews, some I could easily dismiss. And I too am going to the RICHMOND location on Dec 9th (4 days from now) to get mine so it was cool to get to see a few shots of that location... and funny that you drove 3 hours and I am driving about 4 hours. But your video did releave some of the stress that had built up
How long did it take to be able to get the PERMANENT TAGS for yours?????
How did it go?
So far so good. Truck was waiting outside when we got there. We were there about 30 minutes. Paperwork was quick and easy in the store. All the staff was great. So far in just over a week i have had no issues with the truck. On inspection i did find some obvious dings that were not disclosed on the online showcase but they are used vehicles and you hand to expect chips in the paint and it works be nearly impossible to document them all. In fact in my opinion i feel they water as honest as they could be in documenting the most obvious of flaws.
At various unfortunate times in my life, I've sold new and used cars at 3 major dealerships. As a buyer, I will do anything to avoid going through the dealership hassle.
looks like the richmond location. Just picked up my car. Price was ON POINT. Unbelieveable deal compared to carmax. 2k cheaper, 2 years newer, 50k less miles for same car at my price point. Drives great, looks better than it did in the pictures. Took 10 minutes once arrived and maybe 30 minutes online beforehand.
I’ve been looking at the Richmond Virginia location I don’t know if I can trust it!

@@trishonya you get temporary plates and registration for 1 month. They beat the deadline by 3 weeks. They seem to be on top of the issue now.

Funny you say that about CARMAX. We bought our last 3 cars from CarMax and LOVED the experience and used 2 different locations but THIS TIME they were way over priced and their financing terms were not anywhere near acceptable. So I gave CARVANA a try.
I just purchased a lexus truck
40,000 miles on it took it to DC to shake it loose and truck is tight
New tires were put on before delivery. One thing was wrong vehicle did smell of Marijuana carvana offered 100 to get re detailed it cost me 150 to get ozone treatment carvana is getting me my additional 50 bucks
Aside from that everything was streamlined efficient. I received my plates and registration less than a week from receiving

I purchased a 2018 infiniti q60 red sport awd from Carvana a couple days ago, I'll pick it up in about 8 days and I'm very excited....it has 61,983 miles on it and in very good condition 👍🏿I also have warranty for mechanical and electrical that lasts all the way to 110,000 miles so I'm covered like a blanket 😁

I bought my car in 2019 from Carvana, took me maybe 20 minutes from start to finish. They delivered it to my door. Just over 8,000 on my 2018 Kia Niro hybrid. 50,000 miles later and the car has been flawless.
Recently went to a dealership with my friend to buy her car. Got there at 11AM, didn't leave until almost 9PM.
My next vehicle will come from Carvana. I'm in Virginia like you, so it's likely that the operation is a cut above those in other states that they've had their license revoked.
Spot on about good experiences. People are quicker to complain than to praise.
I’ve bought a car from them a few years ago, everything went perfect. I just bought another one and so far no issues except my pick up was delayed but I’m not surprised because I wanted to pick it up 3 days after I ordered it. I’m due to pick it up this weekend and praying all goes smooth. They’ve been pretty good in my opinion.

I bought a car from them in 2019, it was a lexus the car was beautiful it had a few scratches, the warranty said they would fix it i worked and never had time to bring the car, a few days ago a diesel hot my car and totaled it out, im looking for another car on Carvana, I would recommend carvana.

It was so easy and I found a great car 2013 Hyundai voloseter great price and monthly payment amount. @@yoptifine4778 Yup , so good so far! My delivery slot was 11-2 I got a call at 1:30 but the call wasn’t supposed to be for me. They we’re trying to reach the person who had a drop off before me to tell them it would be better to pick the car up because it was gonna get scratched if they put it on the tow due to how the low the car was (mustang) . I ended up asking them if I could just come pick my car up & I did. Just signed the paper work, inspected my car and left.
My car had two scratches on top from the tow (it had to be towed from another state to my city & it was towed using a two level two truck). they quickly put in a work order to get it fixed and the company reached out to me the next day. They’ve already started the registration process so I’m just waiting for my actual license plate as well as my pay off for my trade into & I can take my car to get fixed for the scratches anytime before 10/30

Used carvana for my original smart. Just got a 2023 Prius xle off the dealership. Had an awesome experience, yes I did wait 3 months for Toyota to allocate me a car but it was exactly what I wanted.
Most dealers have a return window, even when I bought my brand new 2024 civic sport I had 5 days to return it if I wanted. I know this was posted months ago, but people worried about the title check with your state. Most have time frames that the dealership has to send it, and since they already got in trouble once if they don’t meet your states law then file a complaint. In Florida by law they have 30 days to give you the title. I just don’t think I could of bought a car from Carvana after everything they did, but glad it worked out for you. I also don’t think I will ever buy another used car either. I would rather have the factory warranty and know I was the only driver and didn’t miss any maintenance or do anything stupid with the car. Like you said, the person sold the car for one reason or another, and very well could of just been a lease that ended and they upgraded, but for me its peace of mind. I have the 3/36k bumper to bumper and the 5 year powertrain warranty so I should be good for as long as I am paying on the car. Also, the prices of used cars was so high when I was looking at cars that it was only 2-3k more for a new one, and you get a better interest rate on a new car than you do on a used one.

I assume that if you are pulled over and have not yet recieved the registration, you can show your proof of purchase from Carvana and be let you go.
I bought a Ford suv . My plates were ready on pick up.
I just can’t believe the warranty you described is only $7/month-I looked at a couple of carmax vehicles and it added anywhere from $30 to $60/ mo
When I went to get my car the warranties range from $25 to $44 in addition to your payment depending on the coverage you pick .
My Carmax warranty on a Range Rover was 6,500 and on Carnana is was 3k! Returned the Range Rover and went thru Carvana for the ride instead
Be careful with with vehicle being a certified pre-owned vehicle. A lot of times third party dealerships, like carvana and carmax, certified pre-owned vehicles are not certified through the original manufacturer. It is a different certification through that dealership and the warranties are very different and may not be supported at a Honda dealership if you need to get work done.
Yup this is what happened to me. 2014 Honda Accord only qualified for 3 oil changes and 3 tire rotations. Wear and tear parts, other fluids are out of pocket. I got it at 48k. No problems yet. Consistent payments for a year so far. All the future issues will have to come out of pocket is the thing that pisses me off

That's sort of private info I'd like to keep to myself. However, my model (2020 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback) goes for on average around 28k.

I hate how they make you sign for the car before you see the car. I had to return it the next day due to the car having over spray which wasn't disclosed. Never buying from them again.
Both of my parent's Lexus are bought from the regular dealership because Canada doesn't have Carvana.

It clearly states in the contract that you can go to the local DMV and get surgery paper plate and they will reimburse you every penny for it, big deal.

Got my car delivered on the 18th of December. Came with tags and that went well. Car name late due to weather in the North East. 2010 Subaru forester w 60k. Found some surprises that wasn’t listed on the car. I drove it to a mechanic that CARVANA recommended because of 2 idiot lights. On the way I had a vibration in the steering wheel. Turns out they only slapped a pair of brakes on car and that caused a rotor issue. So tech called CARVANA and got NEW Brakes, NEW rotors and NEW Calipers because they didn’t fully check and repair vehicle . I came out very happy because it was taken care of. CARVANA should have done this in the beginning but the only thing Certified means to me is that it was certified used!! Overall car was as described! I like it but CARVANA needs to address this issues b4 car leaves the lot. Happy w the car. It did come w a couple of minor scratches because it was shown and noted.
The surprise was that it had heated seats!!! ❤
also, you keep saying "7 full days" but you had to drive 3 hours to get there? Between driving it home and driving it back if you wanted to return it, you had maybe 180 miles to try it out. It's 7 days / 400 miles. For me it's about 70 miles away, so I'll have about 260 miles to try out the car I'm getting.

They sell lemons be careful, they had me go through hoops to try everything to get me to buy the vehicle without looking at it. It was a few miles off from being a couple money pit

In 2022 I tried to trade in my car to Carvana. However, I discovered that the car they sent me was different from the listing. I decided to cancel the transaction and reverse the trade in.
They brought my car back without plates. I went and replated my old car.
Now I'm trying to sell my car and found out that Carvana still has title to my vehicle a year and a half later. I'm trying to get them to release my title back to me and am getting the runaround with their customer support.
Your civic will last a lifetime!
Our experience with Carvana was terrible. The delivery time was from 11am-2pm EST. 2pm passes, but we get no call, no notification, nothing. We call to follow up, and were told to wait another hour or so. Carvana would not give us a valid ETA on the late delivery. Calling this unprofessional and lack of customer focus is understatement. We would not recommend buying or selling a car from Carvana.
Sounds like any other “delivery window” experience. Sounds like a minor inconvenience, unless you had somewhere to be at 2:30.

Really? That's what you're going to complain about? The convenience of having it delivered to you in a timely manner like it's doordash food delivery? You are the clueless people that have made the car market what it's turned into. Over paying from meaningless "convenience". You probably complain about how everything's unfair and you're broke, but somehow it's not your fault.

You’re not out of the woods yet because you bought the car in the rain. The rain will cover all kinds of cosmetic damage, so you really want to inspect the car after you wash and dry it.
7 days to have it inspection by your favorite mechanic. +
