I've gotta say, you come up with the most wacky and creative ideas, and this is just the kind of thing I keep coming back for. I can't wait to see how this contraption handles in flight!
I've put floats on everything I own but I primarily fly line of sight so it's a natural for me. I've yet to put FPV gear on any of my float planes. Everything gets dunked now and then and I'm a bit worried about dunking an 03 unit into the pond. I would handlaunch on first attempt and land on the water. Just like a full size plane, landing is the easy part because you're already at flying speed. Looking forward to the follow up videos. Great work!
I might be inclined to conformal coat my electronics. Murphy can be cruel. Because on my Swordfish I am using all of the available switch channels I leave auto-launch on and just cancel the launch mode by jogging the right stick before raising the throttle.
