This is one of my favorite RC channels. The extra detail you put into these are so helpful. Even the off the cuff comments have solved a few riddles for me.
Yes, 2 esc. 1 for each motor. I'm not sure about using 1 esc for both. I would ask around. I don't want to give misleading info. Maybe someone will chime in.
I’d be curious to see what a 6s 1800 lipo battery could do in that . I have the 4s li-ion pack and it doesn’t compare to the performance of a 4s lipo but the flight times are nearly double of what the lipo can offer
That's next on the list. The voltage drop is massive with the li-ion pack at 70% throttle. I ordered those props you used on your penguin last night so we will see what kind of difference they will make.
Bro, im pretty sure Atomrc watched your videos about this dual set up. See if you can contact them to make a dual motor wings just like how the Swordfish and Penguin are. Hopefully the next version of Dolhpin is a dual motor.
Thanks for the positive comments. But the real credit goes to the guy who designed the kit on thingiverse. I'm just the crazy ass test pilot. If the wings on the dolphin were a little bit longer, it would be the best setup.
Watch everyone of your videos - great to see a man enjoy this great hobby! For the "climbing" thing...I once watched a Painless360 video where he said this "fw_level_pitch (CLI) I set to 8deg - so if plane climbing adjust this in PID tuning/Mechanics-LevelTrim[deg] and SAVE" Never tried it yet but it might be something you already tried?
Great suggestion. For me, the dolphin needs 3° for level flight, but the main indicator that the motors were pointed up too much was the oscillations it had in the previous videos. Every time I shimmed the motor down the oscillations were less and less and it flew more level under high rpm.
@@JeffDoesThis Yep-that makes sense since that Dolphin was designed for aft thrust and it has (most unstable laterally) a forward swept wing which was remedied (I believe) to some extent by the downward curved wingtips. I fly real Cessnas (got my flight training in Ohio-Cleveland-Burke-Lakefront. AND I got it soon after 911 (everyone said "you will never get a go-ahead by US Gov to train for a pilots license because you are Canadian" - I called HO in Washington and they said "thats BS-go ahead!" Anyway-I digress-keep up the great work--you should call AtomRC and get a new twin kit in the works. We are the journalists of this hobby-Gov won't do anything but try to put us down, Universities won't do anything and a lot of locals have been propagandasized into believing we are somehow "trying to take over the Country" . I have been flying models for 72 years - RC for 57 years and its a real-man/real-woman hobby - one of the last!
Forgot to add - maybe a larger downward curved wingtip will help - its a very diff aeronautical design--one that was made for a lot of speed to fly stable. Bang one off on the 3-D - just be careful to keep up speed on landing at first!
Man thanks for making such dope inspiring videos. You are the reason i have a dolphin. Just upgraded mine to a single 28mm motor. Cant wait to see if i can beat my fastest speed of 109mph with a 23mm motor. Have you checked out the AtomRc penguin? I just finished putting mine together and cant wait to fly it this weekend. Keep flying bro
I apricate the support buddy! I was inspired my Shelby Voll and I'm glad I can pass it on. One of these days I might get a penguin but next on the list is building another Swordfish.
Perfect timing for that question. I can't with my current setup, DJI Goggles V2 and O3 Air Unit. You just can't record the OSD elements. But.... my new pair of DJI Goggle 2 will be here tomorrow, and then I can share my osd with everyone! I had to wait until they went on sale.
Be careful of atom rc ordering. Planes they seem to manage. Parts, they are running some kind of scam. Never delivered the parts, working with CC company to get my money back. They just kept on emailing me with promises over a few months. The plane I need the parts for, I’ll scrap as it is a very fragile plane that needs parts to keep flying. Great planes, but I won’t order another.

Thank you so much. I try to improve my video each and every time.
Awesome my dolphin is ready. Still a pusher but will be fun. Yes a 4s setup would be great.
I really like your videos and style of flying.
Thank you.
Man I love this hobby 😅
It's a blast!
Awesome! Can't locate the STL for the motor mount with inclination.
I always wanna fly from my car too . Glad to see it’s possible
I did a range test video from my car and I was surprised how far it went - ruclips.net/video/GMHSbLG7DN4/видео.html
Please ignore my previous comment. Was able to locate the motor mount. I modified it for 4 degrees in case you want it I can send the STL.
did you use 2ESC?
I have sky walker 60A esc, can I use it as single ESC?
Yes, 2 esc. 1 for each motor. I'm not sure about using 1 esc for both. I would ask around. I don't want to give misleading info. Maybe someone will chime in.
How big are the 6s ESCs compared to the 4s? Wondering if they will fit the bays on the Swordfish.
They fit. I have a spare swordfish nacelle and checked it.

Dang! That dual engine is a beast. You did mention you had a twin engine bird in the past, how is this Dolphin compared to that?
It was the AtomRC Swordfish. They are so different from each other that there is no comparison.
where's the current being measured from? You say you can pull 40A but you have two motors and two ESCs, so at most you could do 20A per motor?
Flight controller measures that
Wow, cut off some epp for best battery mount is great idea!
Thanks
Can you add your OSD to the videos?

Don't you know not to order that kind of stuff off of Amazon??
What are you referring to?
@@JeffDoesThis Anything like motors, esc, fc, etc.
