I’m really sorry for how D2 was handled, in my opinion awfully. Nonetheless I’ll always remember D1 as the game that gave my everything other game couldn’t, and simply one of the best videogame experience in my life
Destiny 1 had a feeling like no other. As time passes, the cosmodrome in destiny 2 doesn’t feel the same. In d2 it captures it quite nicely and the sense of nostalgia is there. I do prefer d2 version but the feeling in d1 is unmatched because it was something special.
Been playing Destiny 1 on Xbox 360 over the past week despite frame rate and pacing issues plus no Year 3 content it's impressive Bungie got it to work on 7th gen consoles, bought the Taken King Collector's Edition on the store before it's shut down on July 29th, 2024 and installed everything needed to run the game. Felt like going back and playing it again after a months long stint on Xbox One last year of playing D1 for nostalgia sake after playing a ton on PS4 during it's 2014-2017 live support run before D2 released, might buy the PS3 version on the PS Store and play it there too.
There are places where D2 looks objectively better, however I still think D1 has a soul and atmosphere which are missing from D2, at least on this planet. If you look at 4:29, you'll see what I mean. D2's Cosmodrome doesn't resemble a barren dangerous wasteland, it looks more like a Disney-esque reimagining of it. The colors are way overdone and like it was pointed out, everything is more brown/red. The textures ooze out this almost pastel like feeling. But that's just a personal opinion :)
In Destiny 1, in my opinion, the planets and locations feels different. Cosmodrome feels bright and colorful, Moon appears dark, while Mars feels sunny and deserted. But in Destiny 2, everywhere is just DARK, DULL and DEPRESSING
Check out the Moon comparison too: ruclips.net/video/06eYLi2y4Vk/видео.htmlsi=f3lX8PYjwptxMtLC

Incredible to watch the art and graphics actually get worse over ten years
Graphics got better. The art is subjective
Graphics got better. The care vanished.
this is just depressing. destiny 1 really was the golden age; we just couldn't see it.
Couldn't have said it better myself. We didn't see the forest for the trees
The water in D1 is also thousand times better
Why does the water look better on old gen😂

D2=everything is brown and the lighting is awful
Nah the lighting is better, D1 looks washed out while D2 is saturated, not that D1 looks bad, of course.

D1=everything is white and ligthing is ok in both?
@@Viflo disney esque is a weird way to put it its just more colorful

I liked your original comment too, but I agree :)
D1 looked so much brighter, D2 is just sad and bland
It’s an exact representation of the darkness coming it’s not bland but it is sad what’s happening
@@solongspacecowboy4779 time of day literally not changing in d2 cosmodrome is also darkness doing its darkness stuff?
There is something fundamentally different about the d1 graphics, I can’t put my finger on it but it does look better IMO than d2.
Destiny 1 is better
I miss snow
D1 has snow
