If you use armor breaking abilities that can cancel attacks from a slight range then they aren't that big of a problem. I dislike the enemies with shields much more.
Maybe it's just me, but I feel like 6:11 always comes in somewhere either during the Asterius solo miniboss, or during the boss proper. Which, I'd believe it if Darren paced the music just so that this undeniably badass section of the song lined up to pump the player up to literal hell and back during these fights.
I actually made an interesting connection with the Soul Catcher enemies. You know. The butterfly balls. The ancient Greek words for "butterfly" and "soul" are both "psyche." And Soul Catchers emit a bunch of butterflies. Need I say more.
I listened to The King and Bull and was wondering why I remember the boss music being different. That should tell you how many times I've died to these two.
Interesting fact, Ares's throwing attack, the cutting disc, is the easiest and fastest way to defeat the dynamic duo. Just go to some edge, place both the minotaur and the clown between the wall and the pillars, once there just spam the throwing attack, they will only last a handful of seconds this way. And if you have additional charges or you also have the Ares acceleration, this will be even faster.
Ah.... This has turned into my favourite song to have on while walking. It just makes me feel great, gives you a grand feeling. Also kinda matched my walking pace when it came next on the OST list. Helps you kinda just keep going with your head up high and fixes your posture in the process Good stuff, good stuff. Honestly the whole soundtrack is So Good, but this one deserves this little special note here. Go ahead and try it yourself~ Put on headphones and go for a little walk through town
I've seen people compare the other elysium theme to the doom E1M1 theme, but i've noticed that this theme (specifically the miniboss section) has a resemblence to BFG division.
This. This is the part of the soundtrack where I get my head handed to me. Elite archers, elite shieldbearers, armored exploding chariots chasing me out of cover...
*Asterius:* I see we meet aga- *Thesues:* Wow you’re SO tall! *Asterius:* …thanks? *Thesues:* How tall ARE you? *Asterius:* Um like 6’6”? 6’11” with the horns? *Thesues twirling hair:* omg “with the horns” you are SO funny!
Bit of an improvised line... 4:15 - "Welcome back, young man. Now let's..." "Say no more, Asterius. We shall send this blackguard back where he belongs." "I'm saving you for last, Bull-man. You deserve the honor, unlike Theseus." This... music kicks some hell! Loved the ambient when first walking into Elysium and I knew I was gonna appreciate the unleashed version. Absolute genius! And it makes me wanna humiliate Theseus. Sometimes, I just raise the volume a little too much when this song is up.
RIP Jon Huber (AKA Brodie Lee, "The Exalted One"). I know that this song has nothing to do with him, but man - This really hits hard now that he's gone.
Butterfly balls are laighably easy to counter once you get the butterflies under control. Its the shield dudes and chariots (with armor) that are the problem
My god, at the beginning I hated so much the myrmidons part because they are strong and annoying with that soul thing and all but I ended appreciating this area of the Hades just because this music. Shiiiiit that scaling omg 🤘🤘🤘
I want to like this song with no reservations, but the damn repetitive parts at the beginning with the spooky theremin noise lodged themselves into my brain and have been replaying in my mind nonstop over the last 24-48 hours. The rest of the song song rocks, like, the solo bass parts between fights and the kickass part when you're fighting a boss. The melody is fine, but I can't get THOSE parts stuck in my head. Just "OooooooooooooooOoooooooOoooooooOoooooOOoooooo" It's just that damn synthesizer. I get that it sounds like a spooky ghost because Elysium, but Goddammit Darren why did you earworm me? Well, good work on the soundtrack anyway.
They didn't have to make the whole piece over 8 minutes long. Even if they had stopped at 2:35 the song would have been great. But no. Instead, they went above and beyond!
BUTTERFLY BALLS ARE THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE!
I love butterflies, but in this game?
To hell with them
Athena: hold my boons
Breaching cross moment
That’s what killed me on my first run where I made it to Elysium
Moth balls
When you intentionally went to the wrong neighborhood because that’s the Greek Underworld idea of fun.
that's perfect....
If I ever open up a Breakfast restaurant, the first item on the menu will be called "The Egg-salted"
That's really good
I want to come
I always hope this song comes halfway through Elysium so I can listen to it during the Asterius/Theseus Fight
Same! The boss version of this track is so badass.
i know im alotte lait but it alwayus comes on 🤓🤓
@@lucabiesse9937 wrong, it could be one of two different boss themes
I prefer The King and the Bull for that fight, but… they are ALL too tier…
@@lucabiesse9937 EY! Also, but try get more than three escapes before comin in here with nerd emoji’s.
This sounds like medieval rock mixed with Halloween tunes, and in the BEST possible way.
Darren Korb, the composer for Hades and the other Supergiant games, did describe the soundtrack for Hades as "Mediterranean Prog-Rock Halloween"
@@ericahess7508 i am so glad i know this now
The Halloween tunes come from the Theremin
@@ericahess7508 That sounds so specific lol
The transition to the heavy metal part is the best part of this song imo
Pretty much all my favorite parts in hades’ soundtrack is that
People are mad at the butterfly balls but seriously, fuck the armored chariots that get the speed buff from the Pact of Punishment.
those fuckers are how i learned to love exagryph
If you use armor breaking abilities that can cancel attacks from a slight range then they aren't that big of a problem. I dislike the enemies with shields much more.
The exploding chariots moving at mach 500:
How bout the longspears that can hit you while in hitstun?
This game makes me want to learn to play the Theremin.
Wait that is a theremin? wow
search in google
Same
this game makes want to learn how to play the bağlama.
2:18-2:30 and 6:21-6:33 have this "You're so close to your goal" feel and I just love it.
Absolutely perfect way of putting it!
They really cooked with that
Hands down one of the best pieces of music on the Hades
I'd listen to 4:15 segment 100% of my runs, so fucking pumping.
Darren Korb is fucking genius
You can practically hear Asterius behind you trying to run you down.
why does the guitar riff at that time remind me so much of Tenacious D
@@Leeviathan26 true! it sounds like the Beelzeboss music at the end of Pick of Destiny
does anyone else always feel like the end of the song is about to shift into an even more intense, more metal third phase?
Maybe e1m1?
I think this song is the best alternative to coffee ever created
Just tried it before work, 100% efficient, caffeine free.
And Unseen Ones is the equivalent to the Panera suicide drink
4:15 Don't mind me, just putting this timestamp here for myself
Lol I did the same, that part is so sick
I defy you with a like and a reply
Meh overrated, The first calm part îs better.
WE MAKIING IT TO HADES WITH ALL 3 DEATH DEFIANCES WITH THIS ONE!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Nah I'll make it there with 5

Huh. I was wondering why that was. Neat!
Interesting, it's probably also why you see lots of harmless blue butterflies too.
Oh god and than’s cthonic butterfly
4:15 LORD ZEUS I INVOKE YOUR AID NOW
let's be honest, all the gods have really useful calls, but zeus' call is readily the most badass and canonically amazing thing too
Whose side is he on?
the best aspect of the first part is the bass. so good.
This song has been stuck in my head every second since I made it to Elysium for the first time.

I thought we still had a week or so til another song was going to be released? WELL IM HAPPY I WAS WRONG
The ending of this reminded me the ending of the song killing in the name of rage against the machine. Pretty neat
Oh yeah, you’re totally right. I hadn’t even noticed that before.
Holy cow it really does!
My fave theme so far, i just love it really kicks off
Holy crap I love all the hades tracks so far, they're so great

I think I will
I'm never getting this song out of my head.

yup, it's the 6/8 time!
Hmm, that's interesting. I think the second phase of God of the Dead sounds a lot more like E1M1
Meanwhile I feel like “The Painful Way” sounds like the choir-esque voices in…Gangster Paradise.
I definitely hear that. Good ear!
@@emblemblade9245 SAME!
I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS SONG WATCHING SOMEONE PLAY HADES ON DISCORD, I LOVEEE ITTT LMAO
This.

This is one of the best games iv played in a long time and the ost really adds to that love anything with any sort of mythology really
Everyone talking about the 2 and 4 minute marks, yet nobody points out how 0:52 is literally Pink Elephants on Parade
2:09 is a beautiful moment.
This is what made me fall in love with the game
Song before 4:15 : ❤️
Song After it : ❤️🔥
Idk why but this one is my favorite by far from all the ost of hades ! Damn i love this peace of art !
My favourite song in the OST, somehow.
Darren Korb, the Legend everbody!
Composer is Darren Korb
I just thought his name deserves to be in this comment section somewhere

It's like buying a Darren Korb album that happens to come with a game included. LMAO
I always liked listening to the bass between fights
Hades, the game that makes you despise butterflies
its fun listening to this game music without the sounds of pain, weapons, fireing and stuff dying.

Oi, let Asteruis be his gentleman self

Instant hype, just add crowd noise and random calls of "BULLHORNS!". "DELTASTRIKE!".
And.. of course:
"BLACKGUARD!"
I like this kind a new approach of heaviness!!!
The Exalted - such an Epic name for an Epic Theme Song!
Another amazing song as always

YES! HELLZ YES! Just what I needed to power up today!
