This would be my next go-to if I were out for a new phone. It's not perfect but it's really great value for money. A real flagship killer. And I really love the understated elegance of this thing.
The part about midrangers not being able to record up to 4k60 is truly a bummer when they clearly have the power to do so. It is true that they do that so we'll still have some reasons to go for flagships and a couple of other reasons. Even having that stabalized 4k on flagships is very envying when compared to midrangers, and that's why I kinda like my X3 NFC. It can do 4k30 stabalized, BUT it drops frames every 20s or so. And that's using the pro mode with locked 1/60 shutter speed and ISO. Prolly upgrading next year and can't wait for the performance upgrade.
The Realme GT Neo 3 is a little more expensive option with the dimensity 8100 but delivers substantially better camera tech with OIS and EIS. It also has an OLED panel but no headphone jack or IR blaster. Either way is a win win. You're absolutely right about the benchmark scores not being the end all be all and you referenced it well with some very demanding gaming examples. I just realized that this phone is slightly different than the other. Poco F4 GT which didn't have a headphone jack. A bunch of reviews of that phone were released today as well, maybe the embargo ended at the same time

How well does this phone work on a t-mobile network. I know that sometimes these phones have an issue with some of the bands because they don't have the frequency, but I was curious on this one since I'm using the Poco F3 right now.
It's not an antenna issue, it's because the US cell carriers and mvnos just refuse to status the individual software of these international devices. They're trying to weed out all these great phones and force consumers to buy their devices...which are all garbage. Tello has decided not to play this game. It's the only mvno, that I know of, running off T-Mobile that accepts my Realme GT2 PRO. Calls are great here in Seattle area and even out in rural areas so I definitely recommend Tello for any international devices.
The Dimensity 8100 is killer. I've been very interested to try a phone that comes with it, and as soon as I got a chance to get a local release (realme GT neo 3) I jumped on it. I regretted my decision, but it's not because of the realme; it's fantastic. It has made me seriously doubt my gaming phone purchase 😂 for both gaming and non-gaming reasons. Any games that I play on the Redmagic the realme can do just as well if with a little bit of stutter now and then, and it can do all that without threatening to singe me like the Redmagic has done with Genshin. And when it comes with other stuff the realme wins; the main camera is better, battery life is better even with same battery capacity and refresh rate, charging time is on par if not a little slower, and realme UI is so far ahead of the Redmagic when it comes to doing phone stuff it's not even funny. The realme also costed me like 40% as much as the Redmagic did, though admittedly the latter was fully specced. I know that most of these wins are down to realme's design decisions, but I feel that Mediatek this year has managed to enable some very inspiring combo of hardware and software on a budget.
Easy bro, even knowing all this a guy will come saying that Antutu gives 800k+- only on 8100 and bcs of that it's slower than a 888 and its not close to a 8 gen 1, it sucks just because it is not a Qualcomm Cpu xd. I play Onmyoji Arena, the most graphics-demanding MOBA of the same gameplay (MLBB, LoL Wildrift, AoV) and it handles it just fine even at max settings. Doesn't heat up that much too even if I play for more than an hour. I also play another idle game which I just let autorun, and it does not heat up even over several hours of running idly.

about charging, its awesome but I have one single complaint. there is multiple ways how you can make 67W, 15.5*5, 20*2.125, 24*2 all in the spirit of what "quick charge" is an is supported. It's likely why Samsung and Apple have been reluctant to embrace this.
