Just heard that Hamilton Bohannon passed away . I grew up on his style of music and will always remember what times were like when this music was playing . Happy times and great memories. You will be missed.
My dad had this record and I remember snooping through his collection I played this song from this album. I still remember him saying “Boy, where the hell did you find this record at?” Lol Him and my mom and friends used to party their asses off to this.
I met him several times. His brother Levy, who was his manager, rented the first floor from my parents in our 2 family house. I played drums. So Hamp came into my room and showed me how to play my drums. I was young. I had no idea he was such a hot item in the clubs back then. His sister would always be embarrassed when his music came on the radio. Good times!!!
Stumbled into a $#%dam goldmine. Found this guy at a low point in my life and he inspired me to get put n play again. Thank you Hamilton Bohanon and God bless your journey
Hamilton Bohannon was one of the pioneers of disco music. His music was a blend of disco, funk and r&b.''Foot Stompin Music'' was one of his finest songs and his biggest hit in USA reaching number 3 in disco charts back in 1975.It was his only song that entered the hot 100 singles chart(#98) and #39 in hot soul singles chart. One more artist who didn't recieve the commercial success he deserved but today is considered one of the best disco musicians of the '70s.
Agreed and to think I was a mere tender age of 8 then and I remember this song still....someone please recognize Hamilton Bohannan for his musical contribution to disco. It wasnt about the Bee Gees Diana Ross Sir Elton John or Donna Summers
He was my substitute music teacher in 1975 at Brady elementary in Detroit we thought he was weird in 1978 I went to a Marvin Gaye concert at Olympia stadium and he was playing piano for him ,needless to say I never judged a man after that you never know who someone is or their abilities his music was great he will be missed .
Mr. Hamilton Bohannon and his FOOT STOMPING MUSIC those where the good days of Disco when I was about 14 and starting my records collection and DJying at private gigs
I remember Bohannnon well. Loved his music. Also remember WDAS in Philly. They had hip Djs like Georgie Woods, Jocko, etc. We jamed back in those days all over Philly, especially West.
WDAS IN PHILLY always played this jam....being raised as a pentecostal teen , my parents called this the DEVIL'S music....lol...so I became a licensed professional DJ for the last 37 years..
What a concept in 75'..ORIGINAL long play syncopathic bass and drum with lead guitar riffs and the steady Bohannon signature chant to keep it hot...the true father of DISCO!!!..classic shit!! Still see my older cousins in the black light basement parties gettin' downnnn.....
I miei ricordi oggi 30 dic. 2021 era il 1973 discoteca k 73 a montecatini terme, dj Mario si ballava con PERLA Questo indementicabile sound, happy new year 2022

This takes me back to The Lyceum in The Strand, 1974 when he played in London. It rocked us then and it's good to re-visit Hamilton's funky music. Still makes me move my feet and shake my hips, albeit a bit slower now!
I remember there was the wildest group line-dance to this song, the entire club would participate, it was amazing! Everyone so regimental and in sync... This was during the Disco 70's, at The Bistro, in Chicago, Illinois... Could I be thinking of the Bus Stop?
