Yes, Putumayo deserves recognition from UNESCO for their work to popularize the world music and contribute to understanding and friendship among the people of the world. Cape Verde music in particular is like a balsam for my soul, so soothing, gentle..it always calms me down like no other music. Thank you!
100% And whoever illustrated the album covers deserves to be part of the recognition. Those drawings bring all that wonderful music to life and give it a face.
This is an absolute My favorite Putumayo album. Each song is magical, melancholic, one of the most singing islands in the world. I couldn't wait for it to be published. Putumayo should be granted UNESCO patronage for the promotion of such cultural assets. ❤🌎
While its difficult for us to pick favorites (it's like asking which is your favorite child), Cape Verdean music really does embody the Putumayo aesthetic of melodic, culturally rich music that touches your soul.
Yeah, Putumayo's creations allow us to take part of Cuban culture and respectufully adapted to other languages too. Their work should be granted and recognized.
I have the the original Putumayo CD, and I have loved these wonderful melodies ever since it was first realised, so happy for this. Greetings from Copenhagen 🇩🇰
Mayra was 14 years old when this came out, she hadn’t even met Orlando Pantera yet. Putamayo has a lot of resources, but a way to time travel isn’t one of them.
I subscribed to this channel about a month ago and I never expected to see a compilation album of ky country, I’m so happy ❤️❤️❤️ thank you so much ❤️🇨🇻
Putumayo has made a mistake, here. The track I’ve listened as #10 is, actually, “Ti Jon Poca”, performed by several artists (Ildo Lobo singing) from the album “Peace, love and unity”. In the same album there is a track performed by several artists (Zeca di Nha Reinalda, João Cirilo and Blyk Tchutchi singing) which is called “Funaná”. “Tchon di massa pé” is just a line in this song, not the title. The song “Funaná” (which should have been included to have a wide representation of Cape Verdean music) is this one: ruclips.net/video/t4JsDVSkzYs/видео.html.

Wow.... beautiful music journey! Listening from Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. This music is perfect for a day at the beach or just enjoying the day!
Listening from Cabo Verde, Sal Island, where I moved in 2015! 🇨🇻🏝️
Thank you for listing this long track on HQ quality , I am playing it for years and I love it especially when I'm cooking .
I'm from South Africa 🇿🇦, I can't hear a word but I love the way it sounds
A South African now living in Portugal....this album is making a lot more sense to me now than it did 10 years ago.

Teşekkürler pütümayo ! Seninle tanışmak güzel çizimler ve kültürel müzikler kulak ve göze hitap ediyo r , Türkiye’den sevgiler ❤
Mayra Andrade, one of the most beautiful voices of Cape Verde, was absent from this selection
Cape Verde came out in 1999. Mayra’s first album was in 2006. We love her.
Mayra was 14 years old when this came out, she hadn’t even met Orlando Pantera yet. Putamayo has a lot of resources, but a way to time travel isn’t one of them.
some people are never ever satisfied . One of many negative facts about humans.
This is so good. Lots of love from brazil ❤

Hey Putumayo, If you ever cross this comment. Could do a Guyana or Madagascar mix, if you have records from those countries.
As soon as the melody began, I was transported back to my childhood home, where my mother used to hum this tune while cooking."
"Chico malandro" nkosi putumayo
aah... Cesaria Evora. Must have been hard deciding which of her songs to include.
You won’t find any studio recordings from Cesária in compilation albums. Lusafrica won’t allow it.
Nha terra forti sodadi
O Português cabo-verdiano é lindíssimo
Obrigado pelo elogio mas, você sabe que não há exemplos de português cabo-verdiano neste álbum, não sabe?
Não é Portugal, é uma língua Africana chamada Crioulo.
Amazing Music to listen to 😍 Love from Tunisia

Why are there so many commercials? Why are they twice as loud as the music?

Te falta un mix de Canarias a Latino América

Many years ago, I came to know the existence of these islands via Cesaria Evora.
