This brings me back to my first time working with LeAnn, a beautiful cool Christmas-time night at Disney World. LeAnn had just turned 16 and was there with her Dad. I’m about a foot taller than LeAnn and ended up interviewing her with no accommodation to that difference. I needn’t have worried. She was super composed, confident and charmingly talkative, probably my favorite interview ever. Her performance that night, which I recorded and later produced for an ABC Radio broadcast at my studio in Fort Lauderdale, stunned me. The fully formed voice of a woman coming from that slightly goofy 16 year old just knocked me the hell out! Unforgettable.
Wonderful performance of a classic. Years ago (I’m 68) I had a female vocalist partner and we did the same type of thing around town, God I miss those days, my love of a simple acoustic performance will never fade.
I'm 68 too, can totally relate. So happy that you have some wonderful memories to fall back on! Any chance you could give it another run? We need to ignore this younger generation attitude that we are old and useless!
@@jblair417 oh for sure I’m polishing up my chops and will be looking for a nice little Pub in Beaufort S.C. to play my tunes hopefully I can find a talented young lady with a voice a desire to express herself. The music in one’s soul never fades.
Terrific, wonderful LeeAnn, you have a beautiful mystic voice. God bless you. Love music & specifically the lyrics. This song is beautiful Van Morrison sang this perfectly and now you.
Great version by LeAnn!! Disagree with some others that she over sings it; just her style for this cover, think it's great!! Also that Country lilt in her voice with the first half of the song.... Totally sent chills down my spine!!! 😁
Most Beautiful , powerful voice, and a special lady too. I remember the family riding their bus to Nashville and sometimes in there she sang the most beautiful song "Blue" She's one of our gifts from God, surely❤
Big VM fan here and when he does this it always gives me chills. Not very familiar with her work but this was incredible! Stripped down highlighted her vocal abilities and the genius of this song. Simply beautiful. What music should be.
Van Morrison has written some of the most beautiful gospel music. Blues and gospel from his soul❣️ LeAnn clearly sings the message with a soulful melody 🥲!
I can't believe she was in Mystic Ct. My parents use to go there every year and stay at the Mystic Inn! I miss them terribly and can't wait to be with them again hopefully VERY SOON!💔🕊️She's got such a BEAUTIFUL voice & great sense of humor I would've been there had I'd known!💯☝️🎼😘🎤🤩❤
I loved her recording of Blue way back nearly 30 years ago. But why doesn’t she appear on all of the many shows devoted to singers? Where has she been hiding? Her talent is rarely matched by anyone. Just beautiful.

This is one of my all time favorite songs. So much so that it will be apart of my funeral event. Having listened to it and all the different versions over 66 years I can truly say Leanne nailed it.
I’m 69 & remember a little slip of a girl on tv with a great big voice belting out “Blue”. Truly gifted. She sang CW of legend & lore…not the later version of dime-a-dozen rock & pop country. [sigh of relief] Loved her rendition of VM👏but man…givin’ it up to acoustic guy! He didn’t just accompany her - he picked perfect notes that wrapped around & filled between the lyrics as she sang. Given that Van’s “Gloria” is one of the most frequently covered popular songs of the 20th century (and not often well), I had some fear over this, but LeeAnn did a fine job, both respectful and with her unique mark. Good job on a classic!
LeeAnn is one of the finest vocalists in the world. Way under rated and under appreciated. This was terrific!
Her anxiety sometimes hindered her stardom. She is so humble, yet one of the best female singers of all time
I heartily agree.
A huge star. How is she underrated?
There is nothing that she can't sing.
