We were on holidays in Porto from Ireland last week. I was walking past you as you were being swarmed by those seagulls and was too starstruck to say hi.
You have to eat the francesinha in the right places. If it seemed remotely similar to a lasagna, it's because it wasn't good one. Next time try Santiago or Capa Negra, for the Braga style try Taberna Londrina. When you go back to Porto, you really have to go into the station you passed through in São Bento, preferably ask someone to explain the tiles on the wall to you. I advise you to get a guide, ask at a hotel or the tourist office, this city really needs one because much of what is interesting is easy to miss. And there is a lot of history that is really worth it, it is not the usual boring history.
Yeah, it's really easy to eat the wrong francesinha, bcs in a lot of places they make it with very low effort, they don't care because they know the tourists will eat it anyways.
Arina's intrusive thoughts on the bridge are far too relatable that feeling of standing on a high place and picturing yourself jumping off its not that you want too and usaly feel shocked at myself for having them but I've run through that scenario way to many times in my head 😂
This effect is caused by the conflict between the self-preservation instinct that kicks in with an adrenaline rush in response to the height, and the lack of an obvious immediate threat recognized by the consciousness
OMG Roman, you definitely can't judge Porto so quickly. It is such a picturesque city, especially because the historic part is so concentrated, but there’s so much more to it. You should definitely rethink moving to Porto. Super Bock is better than Sagres! And where’s your egg on the francesinha? 😂 Like any touristy city, the authentic food and the best francesinhas aren’t always found in the most touristy spots. We locals usually eat elsewhere. I’d recommend Yuko or Brasão for a nice francesinha with a good proportion of bread to meat, and high-quality beef and sausages. So Arina, please give the francesinha a second chance! You should also try a cachorrinho-a spicy, crunchy "hot dog" that’s really good. I love how you got caught in all the city’s traps, like all the stairs! Unless you have business there or want to take some pictures, locals usually take specific streets that aren’t as steep or use the lift. But I guess as a tourist, it makes sense to explore and see everything at least once. São Bento is a small train station, but it’s stunning inside-you really should have visited! I'm glad you crossed to the other side of the bridge. Parque do Morro has one of the most beautiful views of Porto and some truly stunning sunsets. Next time, make sure to visit Fontainhas, Virtudes, and Palácio de Cristal if you haven’t already. Casa da Música also has a great vibe; skaters hang out in that area. I’m not sure if you visited, but Praça dos Leões is lovely, and there’s a beautiful tile-covered church, Igreja do Carmo. If you walk away from the center, there are plenty of residential areas that are much calmer. And if you rent a bike and ride along the Douro River, you'll pass by some nice brunch spots, cafés, parks, gardens, the cheese castle, City Park, and Matosinhos Beach. Porto isn’t just the historic center-it’s beautiful, but most people live outside of it, and just a few metro or bus stops away, you can enjoy a calmer pace of life. I’m biased, but I love Porto, and contrary to what you said, I think you get a better quality of life here.
Terrific post from a local, I took notes for when I visit Portugal.! As someone who lived many years in a touristy city (Nice, France) I can relate to both these experiences.

I love watching your videos, Roman. I have always wanted to visit Portugal. Now I really want to visit even more so. Maybe next year. It looks amazing!
Bravo!! Great vlog! I love your humorous take on life and Porto. Porto is a place ive have been wanting to see for years and years. Now old with a bad back those stairs scare me. You did an excellent job showing us what is up in Porto. Good job. Loved all of it, and Arina ? Adds to the enjoyment.
There is a lift at the base of the bridge that takes you up, you can also take the metro or trams and other public transportation. The hills are entirely avoidable that way. They also missed the Porto Wine cellars on the Gaia side, if you like wine it's a good experience as well.
Good to see you doing vlogs again Roman. Portugal is an old country and there's a lot to talk about there. You and Arina could spend a couple of years just visiting all the places and talking about it's history.
This was a great vlog, the city is beautiful and it was awesome catching that impromptu concert. Good to see Alina again, her English has definitely improved. I’d love to see another vlog showing us all more of Portugal, the islands would be a cool experience!
Roman what a great travel blog. I've been to Portugal with my Colombian wife. We live in Rotterdam Holland and talked about going to Porto Portugal also and after watching your video that will be our next trip. It looked like you guys had a great time. Keep it up. Randy
This is a sweet video, Roman. Congratulations on getting out and having a good time. All we needed to do was to remind you of the fact you live in a destination country. On the food, keep in mind you ate at a tourist joint. That's not where you go to get the best food. But you were having a good time. Which is great. Good to see Arina. On Lisbon versus Porto, there are really lovely parts of Lisbon, but it is a much bigger city. Porto is compact, with a good, concentrated spread of old town on riverside hills. It is just a great spot. But Porto has its more-ordinary districts. You know, it's a real city, and so is Lisbon. You do have hills (and funicular service) in Lisbon, with great views. Anyway, they are both worthy towns. Thanks for bringing back memories of Porto.

Warning/FYI: Almost drowned there due to an undertow / “rip tide” many years ago. Only survived by swimming away from the beach underwater. Apparently lots of people have not been as lucky and this is often a problem on the Portuguese coast.
Thanks for sharing your travels with us. Great to see more of Arina. W/ all due respect, she looks Amazing! Good to see you enjoying freedom. Porto looks like a great vacay destination. Hope to make it there soon.
It's so cool seeing Portugal through your eyes, Roman. Been in Porto in the long forgotten past, 2019, and it's a perfect place to spend some time! Nothing compares with watching from the lighthouse, how the sun goes down to the ocean - hschhhhhh
Hey Roman. I'm a lawyer in Porto. If you are still here, you probably noticed the smoke in the air. The area currently burning is amongst the most beautiful in the region. I'm saddened by this and I want to go there on Saturday or Sunday to see the damage. It's one of my go to meditation spots. If you guys want to join and make a different video, I can be your guide. Tell me if you're interested. It's a nature trail with around 6kms, so comfy shoes are a must.
I can't believe the bridge. With the train car, the little space between that and the railing, and a low railing at that, I would be getting on my hands and knees until the train passed. That was scary. I wonder if they have suicide jumpers there. Also, I love your gratitude for how beautiful Porto is.
I just got back home from a year studying in Porto and couldn't believe the bridge either. Was so anxious crossing it each time, once I was caught up there during a rainstorm and nearly lost my umbrella to a sudden gust of wind. Don't recall there being any suicides during that time or if there were, they weren't publicized. Some kid got swept away by the current and drowned after jumping from the lower bridge though :(
Can´t believe NFKRZ came to the best city in the world (for a tourist)! One coment though: At first I was offended at the girl's comments on the Francesinha (uncontested best dish in the world not up for debate), especially her calling it "sloppy". But then I saw her reaction to that Ukrainian amalgamation paste and I was no longer offended. Her tastebuds are clearly past salvation so there is no need to take it personally. I mean, she calls francesinha slop but eats bread and watery soup and gives it a michelin star
I love this video. I’ve always heard that Porto is the best city in Portugal but I never made it that far north. You could move to Porto in future and live in such a lovely city. Alina seems very nice. I always wondered who holds your camera when you are filming! Enjoy yourself. You deserve it.
You should visit Madrid and Barcelona as well. I'd think Barcelona would be perfect for you, though Madrid is fabulous, too, if you enjoy staying up all night eating and partying. And don't miss the great Guggenheim museum in Bilbao.
Loved your Porto video. Glad you went there and had such a nice time and great weather. It does get colder and much rainier there in the winter than in Lisbon and is usually cooler in the summer than in Lisbon. It’s also suppose to be cheaper to live there than in Lisbon especially if you don’t live in Porto itself but either live somewhere on the south side of the river in the large Vila Nova de Gaia area or maybe in one of the towns just west or slightly northwest of Porto right on the coast (can get there by Porto’s metro system). You could try next visiting the beaches on the west coast. You could go to Nazaré to see the massive waves they have there but be sure to check if they have those waves year around. I’m not sure. Lots of surfers go there when they do. The waves can be massive - totally insane Olympic size - and they have international surfer competitions. Also, you could visit the Algarve in southern Portugal - another two hour trip by train from Lisbon - in the winter when it’s off season and hotel prices come down to relax on some beaches and check out different towns . You can take a train or bus to get between towns. - Some Canadians go there in the winter because of the lower prices than in the USA (Florida) or the Caribbean (it’s high season and much more expensive in those places in the winter). Also check out Cascais on the coast directly west of Lisbon and not far from it. Looks very picturesque and some expats prefer living there to Lisbon. It’s probably too laid back for you, but a place you can also show your friends when they visit and go to relax for the day from time to time. Next time you go to Porto try staying on the train one or two more stops and check out very picturesque Braga. They’re having problems with smokes and fires near there now but should be ok in the spring I would think. Have fun!
Mate, I'd advise you come back to Porto next year, as the new metro stations constructions would be completed. And if you'd like, give me a shout as I'd love to show you the city from a local's prespective.
You've only been to the historic center of the city where tourists gather, but Porto is much more than that. I don't know why they compare the cities of Porto and Lisbon, one is the capital, the other is in the region where Portugal was born. Each city has its own personality. I loved the vlog. Hug.
Awesome video Roman. Glad you enjoyed your trip. We're going to Porto and Lisbon this month so I hope we have as much fun as you did. We're also including a trip to the Douro valley for some wine tasting which I bet would be a crazy time for you both in the future if you tried it ;).
I'm really glad that the vlogs are back and that you look like you are doing ok here, hopefully you enjoy europe, i was recently on Denmark, i'm now back in Chile, and the plane flew over Portugal and i thought "its insane that NFKRZ is there, i'm glad".

Hope you like it. Maybe explore some smaller towns next?
Like Viseu, or Aveiro.
Good to see you doing vlogs again Roman. Portugal is an old country and there's a lot to talk about there. You and Arina could spend a couple of years just visiting all the places and talking about it's history.
That's the city my grandpa came from. I never got to see it, I`m an ocean away. Thnks for showing it!
Go. Vai la
That was one of the best videos you've done in ages! Loved it. Porto looked great too.
I'm From Porto, thanks for the Visit Roman!
Bro what a nice country
Good to see Arina! Your travel videos are my favorite. Make more of them.
Good work Roman!
Solid video. "Got to get out more". Yeah! More travel videos please.
This was a great vlog, the city is beautiful and it was awesome catching that impromptu concert. Good to see Alina again, her English has definitely improved. I’d love to see another vlog showing us all more of Portugal, the islands would be a cool experience!
Further proof that Portugal is Balkan
Roman what a great travel blog. I've been to Portugal with my Colombian wife. We live in Rotterdam Holland and talked about going to Porto Portugal also and after watching your video that will be our next trip. It looked like you guys had a great time. Keep it up. Randy
Liking the travel vlog.
Yes we enjoy videos outside we fill like if we are in those cities in Urope
I am ready to travel Europe thought your videos enjoy Ering company
Arina with the glow up and awesome English this video! She’s beautiful and intelligent.
Thanks for taking us along to Porto. Yes more travel videos Roman you always do a great job 👏 ✌🏻

Ill never stop watchin your vids roman! Keep up the great work bro
I love this. Roman with his humor and clever perspective makes for a great travel video.
Nice Video Roman. Brings back a lot of memories. Haven't been to Porto for a while.
Warning/FYI: Almost drowned there due to an undertow / “rip tide” many years ago. Only survived by swimming away from the beach underwater. Apparently lots of people have not been as lucky and this is often a problem on the Portuguese coast.
Thanks for creating some content like this! I love learning about other cultures, lifestyle, and countries!😘💗
Thanks for sharing your travels with us. Great to see more of Arina. W/ all due respect, she looks Amazing! Good to see you enjoying freedom. Porto looks like a great vacay destination. Hope to make it there soon.
So nice to see Arina again 🥰
He was there last week
Arcos de Valdevez? 😅
Love love love your vlogs. Never stop making them. Especially with Arina, she's hilarious.
Some kid got swept away by the current and drowned after jumping from the lower bridge though :(
Finally another Vlog 🔥 I really like the Vids where you or you and Arina and others are visiting Places
It is a common knowledge that the most beautiful McDonald's is in Budapest. Please come and visit it soon.
Очередной великолепный ролик, умопомрачительного качества!
Очень рад снова Арину увидеть, продолжай выкладывать отборную вкуснятину
I`m flying to Porto and then Lisboa in 2 weeks, thanks for sharing this Roman!!
Probably gonna take two years before he gets his residency...
Barcelona is a shithole nowadays
Thanks for the vlog. You sound calmer now. The ocean is known for calming people.
Love these kind of vids keep them comin :)
Have fun!
Awesome to see you starting to enjoy life again. ❤
Loved it! So wonderful to see Arina again - hope she is a constant - very beautiful lady.
>Goes to porto
>Everything burns
Why
Coincidence?
Chelyabinsk effect, he brought a meteor with him as well
Mate, I'd advise you come back to Porto next year, as the new metro stations constructions would be completed. And if you'd like, give me a shout as I'd love to show you the city from a local's prespective.
All your videos are great roman, but the vlogs are always the best!
Also, when getting a Francesinha, you need to have the Especial, with a fried egg on top :)
Loved the vibe of the vlog and the city. Thumbs up!
Go during Sao Joao, it’s another 9 months from now but it’s worth looking in to
I'm really glad that the vlogs are back and that you look like you are doing ok here, hopefully you enjoy europe, i was recently on Denmark, i'm now back in Chile, and the plane flew over Portugal and i thought "its insane that NFKRZ is there, i'm glad".
Arina looking great, good for you she got into the EU!
His new wife 😂😂😂
What an amazing city Porto is old cultural and new vibe just walking into a concert open free👌👍...but then Porto does seem to have a real buzzing music scene I'll have to go some time👍🏴❤️..
