O.k. i aleady have Navigationsystem and music downloaded directly into my car so this really has little or no value to me and I assume it will use up my data. Am I right or is there some hidden value to this?
i have a portable carplay but one thing i concern is if i get a new one. would the old carplay have my info stored or it's simply just a syncing device? appreciate it
The info is stored on your phone, not CarPlay.
Would you know how to adjust the ringtone volume in CarPlay?
that's probably going to just be based on the setting on your phone
For volume you have to turn it up or down while the navigation is speaking. 😊
You need tell people the latest make, model and year in order to have that feature. For all Toyotas after 2021 has that feature.

I think the good usage of car play is using maps for navigation through car play.
instead of looking all the way down to your small screen while driving, you can look at your dash and quickly make changes, or even use siri so you don't have to look at all. It's really convenient

I can navigate it just fine but it cuts off and disconnects from CarPlay then reconnects. It’s not just every now and then it’s all the time. It’s a brand new cord. Any ideas what it could be?
I figure out really quickly just shortly after having my 2020 Ford Escape SE in black. It was very easy for me to figured it out. I did plugged in my iPhone towards the port near the 12 volt. I bought a cable for the newer iPhones in the console. It does work with my iPhone SE 2. I have a friend that said the older cords to iPhones won’t work. I think it would work if one end is for the iPhone and the USB on the other end will work. I do have a couple cords to used in my vehicle for Apple devices or other iPhones from iPhone 5 towards the present iPhones. Even my iPod Air which I have 2 of them in separate key chains, or even my iPod touch in pink. Even iPads also.

Are you able to turn off the messages app from showing on the CarPlay screen? So passengers can't actually access them LOL.
yeah I believe it's turning off announce messages in your carplay settings

it depends on the stereo. most of them are wired only, you have to make sure it's wireless

on every stereo I think they have an underlying UI that's not apple related, and one of the apps that they have is carplay. If you go outside of the carplay app, they should have a radio app somewhere. That's how mine is, if I want the radio I have to go back out of carplay and play the radio, then I can go back and do other stuff

I just found out about car play feature on your car. You might have a 2021 or newer in order to have it.
Can I use google maps using carplay? Also, I just need only selective apps like maps and music only. Apps like iMessage/sms, email etc should not be in the carplay. Possible?
he already said in the video that google maps is supported, and in your phone go into the car play settings and you can choose which apps you'll see in your car, so you can remove apps you don't want to see, and you can move their order around

not really, the UI is specifically designed to be easier to use than your phone while in your car

how? you can see how everything works, you don't need the apps to have the actual information on there. You'd have to be brain dead to need even more handholding
