99 out 100 times this will do it…BUT. Not always.
I just started driving and The release arm on my truck pulls all the way out hen it’s unlocked but in the video yours didn’t. Is that how some truck release arms are?
Hi driver, sorry for the late reply. Some Fifth wheel arm are made different. Some will come out a lot but still attach to the fifth wheel, and that's normal.If yours came out like unattached, then you need to get it looked at because something is broken or came loose.
Works everytime except when it doesnt
If you're still having issues, try roughing up your trailer like set your trailer brakes and release only the truck and go back and forth also try driving at a slow speed and slam on your brakes to see if that will free things up on your fifth wheel.
@truckingpaysthebills5394 that actually worked! I been driving 3 years but never had this happen where i couldnt fix it in 60 seconds. Took me an hour of tryi.g but finally got it

Watch the video again and try again. Go back in the truck with the trailer brake set, and the tractor brake release go back and forth violently and try the procedure again.
@@truckingpaysthebills5394 thanks, ended up having to call road side, had to pry the locking jaws open and go get it checked at the shop
I thought reversing would push the pin tighter into the 5th wheel...
you are right,but that direction, take the pressure off the jaws, which makes the pin easy to release
