- It’s the show everyone’s talking about, ‘Baby Reindeer’ and it’s already hit number 1 on Netflix. The dark comedy TV series is based on Richard Gadd's real-life experience of being stalked. Today Richard and his co-star Jessica Gunning join Lorraine, Richard tells us how he coped with reliving some of his past traumas, and why he blames himself for some of his stalker’s behaviour. As well as that, he’ll explain why he always wanted Jessica to play the role of Martha and Jessica reveals how she came up with Martha's iconic laugh and why she didn't do any research on her for the show.

I agree. This show will haunt me for a very long time. I am thinking about rewatching parts of it-. But I will never rewatch episode 4 again. Had to fast forward through parts of that because it was so disturbing.

This series honestly made me cry from Martha's story on how and why she turned out the way she did and how she saw Donny has her stuffed toy baby reindeer it brought her a sense of love and wanting something she didn't get when she was wrong and I also felt the pain for Donnie and what he had to go through I appreciate this series.
Tbh a standalone show just about Martha life to how it came to that point would be amazing.

This was an absolute masterpiece. Jess Gunning and Richard Gadd along with the rest of the cast were amazing. It was uncomfortable viewing at times, funny, sad, shocking and evoked so many emotions. I literally binged watched this over two days as found it so compelling. The best thing I have seen in years.
The first thing I thought when I saw Jessica Gunning in " baby reindeer "is that she would be great as the lead female actress in a remake of "misery".
Stephen King he's glad Misery's been out before this.That movie was the first thing i thought of-when watching this
This series is hands down, the best drama series released on Netflix. Jennifer Gunnings acting is amazing and the writing is first class. Best drama ive seen in ages.

Just finished watching the series and man she did such a good job,her acting was top tier for me and it gave me goosebumps every time she showed up when Donny was alone 🤣 had to come watch an interview on how she is in real life and she’s so pretty here 😍
Take a Bow, Jessica Gunning ! She's natural at acting. I was terrified of what Martha would do next. It brought back some unsettling memories and uncomfortable feelings. She breathed life in the character. Wish to see her work more !
There were only a few words where I questioned if Jessica wasnt actually Scottish, but no more than Richard who is actually Scottish 😂 Amazing actress!

Usually when people do a Scottish accent, as a Scotsman you can tell it’s fake. Even when they are good at it, there is always a tell.
I honestly thought that the actress who played Martha was Scottish, I was astonished when she spoke in this interview! Well done.

Two incredible actors! Felt utterly proud of Richard for telling his story and making this this most amazing series ❤
The show blew my mind for many reasons. The courage involved is definitely part of it, but ultimately, it is work of the highest quality and because of that, despite the difficult elements, it's just a joy to watch. The writing and casting are outstanding. And the acting is sublime. I really hope they are all super proud of themselves because they all really nailed it.

She is phenomenal, one minute a terrifying Cathy Bates/Misery character, the next, you just want to hug her. It's incredibly admirable how Richard Gadd bravely shared his personal experiences, even those that might make him vulnerable to prejudice. His courage in opening up not only helps him in his healing journey but also extends a supportive hand to others who may be going through similar struggles.
I found it so excruciatingly uncomfortable at times, I had to turn it off… but I came back to it. The acting was extraordinary

they deserve all the awards to come! What an amazing show that is! Best since Fleabag even if you cant compare those two. My question: is there a recording available to watch online of the one man show its based on? I soo wish i could have seen that at Fringe Festival.
Imagine sharing parts of your life to a multitude of people and still being accepted after, the relief it must bring. (Especially in never having to retell it again & the opportunity to be able to finally let it go completely and allow yourself to move on entirely from it because it’s not something you have to fight to remember anymore, as if remembering it confirms that it was real for you even tho you want so badly to forget & eventually you do, but the aftermath can’t seem to leave with it) I wish I had the energy to piece back together some of mine (can’t even imagine where I would begin at this point) & courage to do the same. I admire this man for going through this incredibly difficult process & for being so raw, transparent, unfiltered & real. & kudos to the actors for capturing the complexity of humans from depicting the current of events accurately.

This series!!! Oscar worthy for the writing, the acting- so artistically done- and to have the writer act this- my mind is blown at how brilliantly gifted Richard is. I’ve had two stalkers in my life, neither lasted this long- one 7 months and one 20 years later for a month- both so similar. I love that this film went so deep and that there was so much self reflection. I love that Richard had such a lovely Trans girlfriend who set some tough boundaries and got him to start self reflection. This series was so beautiful. I can’t say enough good things about it but days later I can’t stop thinking about it.

A reflection of the times where the law is black and white, while the situation in real life is shades of grey. Clever and so beautifully executed (Richard and Jessica) with cinematography worth mentioning. What an interesting topic for discussion 👏 ❤😊
Oh she is English, I thought she was Welsh after seeing her in "Pride" she is very good at accents.
I feel like when you interview someone or people, you as the interviewer should let them talk…. She’s literally just babbling on like a fan and not letting Jessica speak which is exhausting 😑

What an incredible story. It was very hard to watch, but it was so gripping you just had to stay with it. It was that good. I hated how much they all suffered but felt like I owed it to their efforts to stay with it. Shocking.
