Debonair, handsome, suave are just some of the adjectives to describe Mr. Sharif. He was a class act from the beginning to the end of his life. His work in Lawrence of Arabia is unparalleled. I don’t think he ever gave a bad performance. He is missed and remembered!
He lived a wonderful life. The longer you live your body and mind will deteriorate. Most people will have family taking care of them as long as possible. Omar had chose to live in a hotel which was what he wanted. Omar lived and died as an Egyptian, I like that about him.
When he played in that Dr. Shevago, misspelled, is the first time I had heard about him. Oh my Gosh, that movie was the best I had ever seen about love.
Near the end of the film when Sharif, as Dr. Zhivago, sees Lara walking by from the trolley car, he is so excited to see her. I can't reveal the rest of the scene for those who haven't seen it, but it's truly heartbreaking and says a great deal about lost love.
I think you're underselling Sharifs legacy. The dude redefined heartthrobs to include non-white actors. His roles as both sheriff Ali and Zhivago is groundbreaking for actors like Pascal. His skills weren't above and beyond but Zhivago was a groundbreaking moment in couture.
I think his best work was with Val Kilmer in, "Top Secret!" If you haven't seen this movie please watch it, a.s.a.p.!! He really shows his fun/funny side. He brought joy to millions of people, R.I.P. sir. Thank you for bringing happiness to all of us.
I am saddened to hear this. Not only was he incredibly handsome but he had so much talent as an actor which is usually hard to find in Hollywood. I loved all of his movies but I have always been partial to Dr. Zhivago - it was so beautiful but sad.
Even his Egyptian movies was wonderful, specially the Arabic version movie of Anna carnina, the name was "Nahr Al hobb" which means " love River" the co star was his wife that time " Faten Hamamh" she was a wonderful actress her self may they rest in peace ✌️ both of them He died 6 months after her death ❤️
Yes, we used to watch his movies in Arabic with his wife Faten Hamama. She was a lovely, classy lady and we heard rumors at the time that he did not treat her well and left her. I loved to watch their movies together. I was in my early teens at the time.
My parents and I loved Doctor Zhivago (film and book). My siblings not so much. To each his own, I guess. After many years, DZ still gets a well-deserved 8.0 rating on IMDB.
He was an amazing actor and incredible in Dr. Zhivago. So sad he had Alzheimer's. Both my parents had it and neither of them ever became aggressive. It wasn't surprising with my dad because he was the calmest most gentle person and never even raised his voice. Now what's really surprising is my mom. She was a very aggressive person always yelling who had a lot of hatred and bitterness in her. Alzheimer's took it all away. Even though it was difficult to watch her lose her memory and her health failing it was a joy to see her laughter. In her last years I got to enjoy a beautiful side of her that I rarely ever witnessed.
