Great video, Mark, that cold wind can be a constant pain in the you know what, but you pulled some really nice specs from that bayou, and that will most certainly make your day! Take care and be safe!
Outstanding work out there Mark. I've been thinking about getting back to basics with the ShrimpTails and you have inspired me to do so. Appreciate you.
What a slammer day dude. I went out and got 2 keeper black drum and sheep’s on Friday (bank fishing) in Bayou Vista so the bites gotta be good rn. Thanks for sharing.
Great video Mark, fishing the birds is always fun. We used to fish with live shrimp under a popping cork but if we found the birds, we switched over to the shrimp tails and the Rockport Rattler to catch the bigger trout
When we were fishing in West Matagorda under the birds, it was easy to tell they were eating shrimp. Lots of the trout we caught had shrimp antenna coming out of their mouths. One even had the head of a shrimp sticking out of the gullet. But we were catching them so fast, we didn’t need to change from the paddle tails were throwing. Knockin’ Tails are the best paddle tails I’ve ever thrown!
Great video, I've been looking for a UL casting rod for crappie, bass, and white bass. Old 18 has the 6'6 Authentic so I went ahead and ordered one, can't wait to get it in the mail!
You went the wrong way. Next time go out under the bridge and stay to the right. In about 5 min you will start to see crab trap bouys floating. Keep going till it opens up on the right. Water will go from 15 to 6ft. Stop there and cast along the drop off. The slot reds are attracted to the crab smells from the pots and they run along that shelf hitting shad and crabs.
Ha !! Everyone knows exactly where you are without saying. The ole 2004 Bridge. Always a good tactic to cast to the bank and hope for a bite when it falls off into the deeper water of the channel. You can always get out of the wind up the bayou too.
Good videos, I love fishing, I live in Houston, I have a kayak but I don't know where to go fishing in Galveston, can you tell me where that place is, thanks
At least your search for fish had positive results... They don't always stay dinks do they.? Thanks for sharing your adventures and as always "Tight Lines and Full Limits To Ya"
Can’t wait for the report!! What weight were you using. I like the spin lock hooked weedless, but the weighted hook. Just curious how much weight you are using to let them sink? Well you said 1/8 oz jig head twice so I’d assume it’s just 1/8 oz and let it flutter. Great video Mark.
Pelicans. LOL. Get a dolphin stalking you. You have probably experienced it, but it's a trip. We had to stop fishing for an hour or more. He wouldn't quit.
I mean… if you prefer the grocery stores. They literally and legally sell their poison. It’s like a choose your poison world we live in. 👍 stay safe brother.
Ha ha, nice video Marc! Have had my tussles with pelicans and seagulls too. Tight lines and luck to you!
Thanks 👍

You got that right! It was like needles every time it gusted. Thanks so much for always watching!!!

I just wanted to do something different and it worked. I was happy with the results 👍.

Sounds like a great day too 🤙
What a great way to start back after the Holiday!
Yes it was!

Gotta love the switch for many reasons. Less baiting the hook is mine 😂. I’m too lazy 👍.
@@MDLRFishing Hahaha just that is what we used to do back in the day . Was just saying when plastic baits first came out, then the rattling jig head

Mr Pelican was not happy having his free breakfast yanked away, lol.

3/8 for the bigger paddle tail and 1/8 for the shrimp tail.
Pinfish love stealing those tails!!! Or as I call them, cut bait!!
Yeah I can’t stand them, what eats the pin fish?
What shrimp lure is that ? Tried to find it on the description but didn’t see it.
Hogie’s Shrimp Jack
2004?
I like that net. Which one is it?
Check out the video description, there’s a link to it 👍.
brisk but productive!!!
Thanks David! Glad I can always count on the cold weather trout 😅.
where did you get the camera mount on the cap.
ActionHat.com
What lure do have on the UL old 18 Bounancy rod?
Hogie’s shrimp tail with 1/8 jig head.
Why do you throw EVERYTHING back?
Saludos amigo bonito lugar
Thank you Marvin!
Is that the surfside bridge?
Not surfside
I wasn’t trying to steal your fishing spot. I just remember this area from running offshore supply boats to the oil rigs.
Not trying to accuse you of anything, just answering the question.

😂
Today made up for all those recent slow days
🙌 yes they did!
Eating fish from that place will give you a third testicle!
lol common misconception. The plants around here are very serious about their pollution they put out especially into water ways.
