Dude you Dude Covers are so thrillifying. Wicked has a notoriously hard score to sing and you make it look so easy. I'd love to see you take on a stripped back track from the show like I'm Not that Girl. 💚💚💚
Well done! The one thing with this song is that the end is supposed to sit on the upper end of your range, so a strong but very high belt for an actress. I think it sounds just a bit too comfortable and modest for your range. I would love to hear you sing it a step or 2 up, to really hear you push yourself.
Just loved this and hearing you sing. Thanks for the upload! So well done. Since you seem open to others' ideas, I thought I'd share a few of mine. But I wouldn't frame my comments as things you should do to "improve". They are just ideas that I think could help to elevate your fab performance and wonderful instrument. Really loved this and hope to hear more of you again! Something that you might like to listen to more carefully is the way you end notes and riffs. Sometimes, it seems that the air support and attention is given to the most interesting or most difficult note, with whatever behind it trailing as inconsequential. For example at 03:55, there is a lot of attention on the ornaments you sing on the word "melt", but the end of the long E in "melt" goes flat in pitch, perhaps because the focus was on supporting the difficult turn before it. At 01:38 you close the last vowel in "wizard" so early that this creates a taper in volume, when in actuality, "wizard" could elongate and GROW to "NO one thinks...". Bringing attention to the end of that note/word would allow you to make a more conscious decision about the text and direction of the line. And finally, with respect to the text, I think the moments you play with spoken vs. sung word could maybe be a bit more selective. You navigate those color changes easily, but if you saved them for more special moments, the effect would be much more dramatic. For example at 02:17, the text is "Shouldn't a girl who's so good inside have a matching exterior?" If you were to speak that sentence/question, I don't think you would choose to emphasize the word "MATCHing". These little outbursts are so special! In fact, Schwartz intended for the song to "keep it together" until the big key change at "And I'll stand there with the wizard"...so if you pace these outbursts wisely, they will come across as Elphaba unable to contain her joy. Again, these are just some thoughts. I loved your performance!
I'm taking note of every piece of advice Maxwell wrote here and trying to apply it into my own performance lol! Those are just great comments! Bibleboy you just nailed it! I've started taking voice lessons and I really want to be able to sing this song this well soon! Congrats!
I feared it was going to be just another dude trying to sing in a girl’s tessitura (and don’t get me wrong, if that’s your thing, go for it), but was pleasantly surprised to hear a resonant, masculine, youthful and agile timbre. Keep it up!
Oh, Miss Elphaba Many years I have waited For a gift like yours to appear Why, I predict the Wizard could make you his Magic grand vizier! My Dear, my dear I'll write at once to the Wizard Tell him of you in advance With a talent like yours, dear, there is a definish chance If you work as you should You'll be making good Did that really just happen? Have I actually understood? This weird quirk I've tried to suppress or hide Is a talent that could help me meet the Wizard If I make good So I'll make good When I meet the Wizard Once I prove my worth And then I meet the Wizard What I've waited for since, since birth And with all his Wizard wisdom By my looks, he won't be blinded Do you think the Wizard is dumb? Or like Munchkins so small-minded? No, he'll say to me I see who you truly are A girl on whom I can rely And that's how we'll begin The Wizard and I Once I'm with the Wizard My whole life will change 'Cause once you're with the Wizard No one thinks you're strange No father is not proud of you No sister acts ashamed And all of Oz has to love you When by the Wizard, you're acclaimed And this gift or this curse I have inside Maybe at last, I'll know why When we are hand in hand The Wizard and I And one day, he'll say to me "Elphaba A girl who is so superior Shouldn't a girl, who's so good inside Have a matching exterior? And since folks here to an absurd degree Seem fixated on your verdigris Would it be all right by you If I de-greenify you?" Of course that's not important to me All right, why not", I'll reply Oh, what a pair we'll be The Wizard and I Yes, what a pair we'll be The Wizard and Unlimited My future is unlimited And I've just had a vision almost like a prophecy I know, it sounds truly crazy And true, the vision's hazy But I swear, someday there'll be A celebration throughout OZ That's all to do with me! And I'll stand there with the Wizard Feeling things I've never felt And though I'd never show it I'd be so happy, I could melt And so it will be for the rest of my life And I'll want nothing else 'til I die Held in such high esteem When people see me, they will scream For half of Oz's favorite team The Wizard and I
@@bibleboy439 haha, no worries. From what dinking around I did, I think it starts in D flat, so 5 flats. In case you were wondering 👍🏻also, what track are you using?

I honestly have no idea lol. One comment speculated D-flat, so I hope that helps
Piano by?
Can I ask you which recording did you use to sing it? Did you use the original key of the song?
Nope this isnt the og key. Just look up this song and add “male key karaoke” to the search bar
what key are you singing this in?
E-flat major (original starts and ends in C-major)
Nice job. I just did the same song on my channel too. Check it out and tell me what you think.
