Recently there has been a lot of talk that Salah is the PL GOAT. No one watching this guy week in week out will ever be saying that. Henry was so special. Never has there been that mix of elegance, technical ability power and unrivalled speed. He was the crowning glory in an Arsenal team that were an absolute honour and pleasure to watch. I feel so lucky to have watched that era of football, the golden age of football in the late 90's to mid 00's. Football now is too mechanical, all system and fitness based, little individuality and flair. And somehow the art of defending has devolved, compare the amount of world class defenders in Henry's era compared to now. Prime Henry would be tearing teams apart without breaking a sweat if he played against modern day defenders.
Nah, modern day defences are waaaaay more organized. Henry wouldn't be able to cut through modern day defences like Swiss Cheese like he does in this clip. Don't get me wrong, Henry was phenomenal but putting down modern football just because there is a threat of a modern day footballer surpassing his PL legacy is moronic.
@@Ghostface_10 I agree with you. He definitely wouldn’t be as dominant, but I would say he is still better than Salah due to the outrageous technique he possessed and his physicality. There have been times where defenders tried to stick together and entrap him (somewhat similar to what we have in modern football) and he just dribbled through them like they are not even there.
@@Ghostface_10Henry was putting up ridiculous numbers back then which counted towards about 40-50% of his team total goals in an era where less goals were scored compared to now and where teams are extremely top heavy with talent. The competitive landscape of europe was a lot more even back then Vs now imagine Thierry in todays Arsenal the numbers he would be putting up would be mind boggling he would’ve put up even better numbers Vs these high lines undoubtedly imo
@@mashwork6615his numbers would definitely be similar to mbappe I don't think he would be the leagues top scorer he'd have to sacrifice some of his playmaking to beat haaland in the top scorer charts
@@zamasublack7024 he did both why would his numbers drop in this era where more goals are scored? If anything his numbers would increase I don’t get the Mbappe point they are different players
You know youtube is fu*ked these days when a guy with 30k subs puts out a marvelous Henry comp and it hasn't even passed 1000 views in 2 days. What a joke.
@@LoffAFC I agree. Some of the recent Bergkamp comps that popped up on RUclips aren’t doing well also. It seems that the algorithm rarely actively recommend new stuff related to what you have watched anymore but the old stuff themselves. They also allowed leagues to put out copyright claims unrelated to the content of the video as well. What a business model…
Top top top. Incredible work. This would be a very respectable career compilation for most world class players. To think this wasn't even Henry's peak is mad.
Thanks as always bro. I do think he stepped up another level in this season from previous in terms of his consistency, decision making and confidence to try things that made him special. Even when his scoring slowed down after christmas he was created chance after chance, which is what put him above the other regular no 9's. 02-06 I think was the final form as you say where he brought everything together, but he was still an elite striker in 01/02 - I think it goes under the radar as we had so many others have top seasons, and of course henry had multiple top seasons after
You 2 guys’ thank you ‘ I love Thierry so much and you guys helping me to watch a lot of videos for him ‘ and some time i stole it and put it on TikTok 😂 ‘ I also follow you on twitter keep going’ I love you 🫶 Sorry my English not good
2001/02 will forever be my favorite season. It was the first campaign I finally got to watch Arsenal matches live regularly on TV although it was mostly the UCL and FA cup fixtures, after a few years of only getting to watch very short highlights on the sports section of Norwegian news. Watching Henry dominate and stand out from the rest was very special back when I only was 13-14. Anyway. Fantastic job as always, Sous. Your dedication is highly appreciated!

Amazing !!! I really appreciate your channel being born in 1996, I never got to see our legends in their prime and only caught the last 2-3 years of Thierry's prime at Arsenal. I know you put in a tremendous amount of effort to make this video and all the other videos made, thank you so much.

He missed a good portion of the season as well through injury and put up staggering numbers. IMO he often played within himself, sacrificing ruthlessness for elegance. He was just so for ahead of everyone at his peak. If I was to rank his best seasons in order I’d go with 02-03, 03-04,01-02,04-05,05-06,00-01,99-00, It’s definitely debatable.
2005-2006 season was his best in terms of efficiency, only in CL final he missed two great chances and WC final didnt won, if he lifted both throphy, definnaly he will get France Football Golden Ball, and FIFA World player of the year, and his Legacy will be much more massive
Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho are by far my favorite living football legends, they are the reason I fell in love with football in the first place, they are part of my childhood... Henry should have won at least one or two ballon d'or in the 2003 and 2004 seasons, he was so unique and underrated back then, he was almost unstoppable and genuinely a very good all-rounder authentic player. ☯️✌️
He's the second best pure striker in my lifetime. Only R9 was any better. And I'm a huge Salah fan but let's never say he's on Henry's level. He's the wizard of this day but Henry was on a level reserved for the King of Kings! Salah will probably end up as the second or third best premier league player ever (second in my book) but he cannot surpass Henry because Henry literally wasn't upstairs Arsenal, he was the Premier League.

Um jogador completo mesmo com seus 1,88cm
Just came out from a conversation with a mate about This man and Mbappé not having anything on him, he's way above Mbappé.
Henry would have hit 40+ this season if he hadn't always tried his trademark finish and been more selfish.
On the other hand he could have had 40+ assists, if so many of the goal scoring chances he created weren't wasted.🤷♂️
