How could you miss the fact JERRY tricked Rick into getting on the Whirly-Dirly with him, without raising any suspicion? Rick later let the alien TSA get the drop on him during the security checkpoint. In the magical world Rick made for his daughter, he said nothing could hurt them, but then a bird ripped his arm off. He also expected to find her friend's bleached bones, but he had survived. Rick disconnected all his clones, which caused him to be shunted into clones in different universes when he died. During this time, he made a couple mistakes about the level of fascism in the universe he arrived in. A big mistake in Pickle Rick was getting stuck as a pickle in the first place-- he underdesigned his system for reversing being a pickle, creating a dangling syringe setup that Beth noticed. You know, aside from Jerry, all these mistakes are pretty small-- most of the plots are driven by the mistakes or unforeseen behavior of other people, such as the episode where timelines split a bunch, or when Morty overheard squirrels.
