I think an interesting point is how announcing the system before Christmas could make kids put this on their wishlist as a “late Christmas item”
Whether that be receiving cash or gift cards to spend on the system when it comes out or parents promising to buy it for them in March. This isn’t an unrealistic scenario in my opinion. Which should entice Nintendo to want to announce this sooner than later.
Makes sense for the reveal to be in the September direct. It will build up the hype next few months, make people preorder as a Christmas gift to kids or themself and then anticipate for the March release
Just feels like we’ve been waiting for this thing to be revealed for so long. If it is coming out in March next year surely they have to reveal information about it very soon. I’m so ready for a new Mario kart, 3D Mario and all the other big titles😊
Before christmas would be smart because people would buy the switch 2 to give as a present but also march would be smart too because everyone gets their tax return by then

@@therealjaystone2344 😂 Are you joking , We're really bringing up the PS3 over this game's graphics lol!? Beyond's visuals are PS4 level easily. Not quite matching upto the best and most polished ones closer to PS4 Pro's release obviously, that's simply not possible. But they have already sort of bent the laws of physics here a bit: Beyond should never have looked this Good on a system that barely pushes 0.5 TFlops.

I'm excited to see what's next with Switch 2, but I personally won't expect a reveal anytime soon. Especially since they have all these great games coming out at the end of this year.
I spoke to a nintendo rep and was told nintendo does not like releasing new consoles in the holidays. They like releasing them around the first quarter. They know they will grab the hardcore and then the casuals in the holidays. I can definitely see a july teaser. Nintendo did say there will be multiple directs for the switch 2. So im thinking a teaser in july a full reveal in august or September and then a full direct in January. Either way cant wait.
They have that lite version releasing for echos of wisdom, so I doubt they'd make an OLED one for it as well. But yeah I mean I feel we are all anticipating the next generationNintendo console for sure.

It's hard to figure out when Nintendo will drop Switch 2 news. I was thinking something would have to be announced at the latest November. I just don't see them dropping it in December and it not being ready unti March while missing out on Christmas sales. I'm leaning to either a mid to late January Announcement with a March release.
For Switch 2 I do hope it has some handheld games like its predecessor.
I mean I guess We all intrinsically know the purpose of the whole watershed announcement in May, to temper expectations but give Us assurance of the device with a very rough timeline. Anything can still happen obviously but ''end of Fiscal year'' with such a strong showing for Switch's ''swansong'' this Direct strongly points towards a late Jan/early February 2025 reveal. I'd also rather sooner than later *but 2025 makes sense: start the calendar Year off strong and counter the hangovers of post-Holiday. 🐉

Im still on the August/September train for Switch 2 being shown.There are a lot of Zelda things going on in September tho (EoW, Zelda Switch Lite, TP Manga set, and the Lego set), so if they dont do a reveal in August then maybe October

Eh.... the problem is most of these "leakers" have no idea how to interpret the information they get, and most likely, their sources don't either.
Switch was never originally planned for 2016, just like switch 2 was never originally planned for 2024. That's just not how these timeliness work, and it's not just a videogames thing, the vast majority of competent and adaptable businesses don't operate this way.
Instead what happens is a "living" or "tentative" timeline is giving, adapting to the environment as it goes. So instead of a single date it starts as a large range, with a bunch of different "go time" off ramps for the various potentialities.
Obviously, this means there is going to be an unlikely earliest possible event, that even though is unlikely, needs to be prepared for in case it happens. So if the game your department is working on is say the first wave if launch games, theu would be told to have the game ready to ship by the earliest possible date out of the range, even though the most likely date was always going to be somewhere in the middle of the range.
Now, management isn't going to go Into detail explaining the entire roadmap in detail to every team member, just the leads.
So by the time this info gets down to the leaders source Joe snuffy in entry level position or the janitor or whatever, they just hear the game needs to be ready by 2024.... and then they go blab their ignorant mouth to the leaker.

Honestly, it being shown off sooner rather than later would be great in my mind. I love seeing new console hardware and hopefully, Switch 2 has a strong first-party line up of games.

Because it speaks to the credibility of the reports which currently suggest a potential March 2025 release. And if that's the case then official news is likely to happen relatively soon.

probably not. The switch will still be supported for around 2 years after the launch of switch 2.
There will still be releases for the switch 1 since there are 140million sold. They will just render at a higher resolution and framerate, probably a bit more fidelity on the switch 2, obviously.
I thought of Metroid Samus Returns as the 3DS swan song, but there were Nintendo published games still releasing on it into March 2017. I think Prime 4 and Legends ZA are the last BIG Switch games. I expect Prime 4 will also have Switch 2 version though.

Andres. Nintendo is skipping Gamescom next month. I heard this on RUclips that Nintendo is in the meeting area during Tokyo game show this September. No switch 2 related information any time soon. I'm taking anything switch 2 related information and rumors and leaks like a grain of salt. I bet Nintendo is doing a special edition switch bundle for the holiday season. Who knows.

Nintendo never goes to Gamescom or Tokyo game show unless a partner of theirs is developing a game for them but they don’t really show up at all in history.
I don’t think they would announce anything before the end of the year and jeopardize their sales during the holidays. My guess is that they announce it in January/February, and release it in March.
You only get one chance to launch something. Remember that chip fabrication is not as reliable as it was and the world is suffering from a depressive economy. Nintendo will be considering the how and why about this console's launch very carefully. It's much too late to revise anything around hardware, but sales figures about PS5 and XBOX X are telling a sorry tale right now.

Anyone who thinks that Nintendo will showcased the switch 2 this year, after the games they have just scheduled for this year along with the new switch lite that was just announced for the new 2d zelda are on some mad copium.
Look at Nintendo’s software output for 2016. Its was on par if not even greater than 2024. So no not copium, just history.
@@AndresRestart Even if you factor in the software that were released in 2016, that doesn't mean switch 2 will be revealed this year. The only reason why 2016 was different is because the wiiu had flopped and nintendo had no choice but to move on to the switch.

Also, Nintendo doesn't want to cannibalized their projected sales for Switch this year.
I think a January reveal with March release makes sense. It's hard for me to imagine them doing a reveal and not having the console ready before holiday seasons.
If Nintendo doesn't release Switch 2 at the end of this year, it's going to be very surprising how they'll let ps5 pro totaly dominate the holiday season!
