It's the famous risotto train!! (if you get this reference you're awesome) Also amazing views! Switzerland is one of the few countries with both VERY scenic landscapes and fast and frequent trains that run through them In Canada we may have the Rocky Mountains...but the train options through there basically boil down to the tri-weekly transcontinental VIA Rail train that takes many hours to traverse them, or a dedicated tourist train (that's pretty expensive)...also the VIA Rail train doesn't even go on the more famous line through Calgary and Banff anymore

Great video! In September 2014, my Swiss neighbor here in New York invited me and my mom to his condominium in San Nazzaro on Lago Maggiore. We took an Interregio train from Basel to Cadenazzo, taking this route. The train kept going to Locarno. We came from Aschaffenburg, Germany where we were visiting relatives. It was a sunny day and the scenery is very beautiful.
I’ve watched a lot of cabrides from all over the world but this was by far the best, most beautiful, technically superior video of them all. My absolute favorite. Maybe next year you could do this one in the opposite direction. That would be wonderful. Once again, thank you,
Thank You for give me back 30 years of memory! I used this route many times, to and for Locarno/Belinzona/Zurich .Love the church back and forth in Wassen...
Thanks for this one. I suppose the Base Tunnel maybe hasn't helped, but still, I'm surprised at how seemingly difficult it has been to find a good video of this general run. If I had my druthers, I'd really like to see a full run on this overland route from Chiasso to, say, Zurich, but I'm certainly not going to complain about this one. Btw, on the tgtrains1 YT channel, there's an old Italian documentary in pieces that more or less shows the run from Chiasso to Arth-Goldau. They were doing a commemorative run on a historic train from ~30 years ago. The manfredi3692 channel is another good one for some older footage. In particular, you'll fin the old run between Udine and Villach, before they added all those tunnels and bridges in 1995-2000. Likewise, you can find the old run on the south ramp of the Brennerbahn, before things like the Schlern and Pflersch Tunnels went into operation.
Wieder eine super Video und eine schöne Strecke. Ich warte immer gespannt auf die nächsten Videos. Vor allem gefallen mir immer die vielen Angaben unterwegs. Macht kaum einer so umfangreich. 👍

Another truly spectacular trip through some of the most beautiful scenery around. Thank you, Lori, for another wonderful video and the very kind words from your premiere chat the other day. I appreciate your hard work and the efforts of your team.
I thoroughly enjoyed this production of the cab ride. Spectacular scenery through the Swiss landscape! In particular I enjoyed the clouds straddling the mountain side, something I have not seen that often. Thank you for this lovely production..!!
@@lorirocks777 I've read a German-English Dictionary which translates Gleis as "platform". Der Zug faehrt um sechs Uhr dreisig ab Gleis vier! - The train departs at 6.30 from Platform 4!
Has the SOB brand being given the intercity limited stop scenic routes for their new trains. Sort of tourist specials but run as service trains also. Notice a lack of road traffic and people around stations must be Sunday? Also a lot of track maintenance for a now bypassed route, except for the VSOE, the Gotthard Panoramic, steam/electric specials and this service. Perhaps they are planning some winter specials! Was that one of the Rail Care locos next to the COOP you have driven?

The European ETCS Level 2 system was recently activated between Desio and Como, but the low signals are still open (2 vertical white lights) to signal free passage. Why instead in Switzerland where there is the European system ETCS Level 2 dwarf signals must remain closed (now 2 purple lights horizontally)? Thanks for the clarification
It's just the way Switzerland chose to handle the situation. It creates more of a distinction between shunting and driving. Austria is planning to include shunting within level. I'm curious as to how they'll pull that off.

Wonderful, I live just across the border in Austria but am a Brit who also lived in Canada for many years. I used the trains in England a lot, they were expensive, dirty, ran roughly and usually late. Canada, at least in BC where I lived really had no train service other than the largely tourist Trans Canada but oh my, here in Austria just as in most of Europe the trains are fantastic. Compared to the UK and Canada its night and day! In the six years I have lived here I can count on the fingers of one hand the delays, the trains are cheap, quiet and very comfortable. The only place that can beat them was the short time I lived in Japan but they were more expensive there!
I live in England; the trains can be dreadful compared to A and CH, but next year my local Metro is switching to brand new Stadler trains made in Switzerland so there's hope yet. 😀
I don’t know what I do without these videos. I cannot sleep without them. The hum (train) drowns out everything. Addict
