There is literally nothing grammatically incorrect about that turn of phrase and it has actively been in use for longer than you have been alive. Read a book sometime.
AAA companies really need to stop taking success for granted. You wait and see if a IP becomes popular among players, and build it into a franchise _if_ it does. You can't start planning a multimillon-dollar trans-media franchise before you know if people even _like_ it.
That's literally it. You put something out that is good on its own right- or at least, theoretically is- and then you wait and see. Give it half a year to simmer and see if people still talk about it, if there's still interest out there, some fanart, while you support it with updates here and there. If it's popular enough, maybe try a sequel to follow up on whatever people find interesting. If it's SUPER popular, make a book, maybe a webseries. If those go over well, maybe do all the other nonsense. Don't just start all at once before you know if people even care about it.
In all fairness, this was Bandai Namco so they have the cash to gamble (Tekken, Gundam, the entire physical Gacha industry, EDF, Pac-Man, Digimon, etc.) Also, they can probably write this off on taxes, so this means virtually nothing to them as a whole.
@@warbossgegguz679 I mean that is true. They tend to dip into a lot of more experimental or just not as huge projects here and there. Just look at the team that made the God Eater series, which isn't wholly unique but everything they make is generally a pretty fun mix of things that don't get mixed in their particular formulas anywhere else in projects that manage to get a pretty good budget. Even if their games don't get widespread success, they still get made. This particular game just... went a little TOO all-in too fast.
@ I mean, they also bought Little Nightmares and Dark Pictures, and published GET EVEN. They're an entertainment conglomerate, they have more to fall back on that Sony does ironically. Hell, Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival and Death Note Killer Within came out a month later and probably recouped their losses. and is came out a week after DBZ Sparking Zero. So basically this was a dud sandwiched between 3 guaranteed hits. Not to mention Elden Ring. They basically the most stable capital stream in the entire video game industry. They have enough anime licenses and hot legacy IPs to be able to gamble on new properties and weird stuff regularly. Sometimes we get a Katamari, a Dark Souls, a Ni No Kuni, a CODE VEIN, or a Scarlet Nexus, other times we get stuff like this, SYNDUALITY, or DB: The Breakers. Either way it doesn't matter, because they'll release some anime licensed game a month later that will sell twice as well as them on name recognition alone. Their European branch is screwed, but overall this will do nothing to them.
Now what's even funnier? They gave out free codes to this game like Candy to anyone who was buying AMD hardware at the time. These numbers are padded by people who never paid for the game in the first place.
Dear god, do gaming corporations not know what advertising is? Are the executives so strapped for cash that they're skimming off the marketing budget so they can afford their yachts?
Yeah ADVERSTISING was the problem with this game. Fuck outta here. The executives have to fund the developers lavish lives. But yeah, blame the faceless people in suits who write the 100 million checks and not the people who get that money and are supposed to allocate it.
So many things dying in 2025 like Nick Eh 30, Honey, Tommyinnit, Dream, California, TikTok (not anymore), Elon Musk, Nelson, Pokemon Cards, the Ranch, and Concord
You know it's a real flop when they had a trailer in every major games showcase and still no one cared to remember it, let alone even consider playing it or knowing it came out in the first place. LMAO
Game looks like a fake game you see in the background of a tv show. I know that gets thrown around a lot but geez, it looks like something you get when you tell a bunch of cg artists who don't play games "make something that looks like what the kids are into these days." Also, obligatory joke of "they made it for the modern audience and all of them bought it, durr hurr"
It's so funny that they had planned "comics, webseries... PODCASTS" It feels so constructed; you hear that and you don't for an instant picture those media and wonder about the possibilities of exploring a big fictional universe, no, you instantly picture the people in a meeting room going "podcasts are big right now, let's have podcasts!" That is LITERALLY the image they evoke in your mind.
Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view's and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.

@@Y.T.STachino it didnt pokemon just straight up copied Shin Megami Tensei, the monster catcher/summoner genre was already wildly popular by the time the pokemon rpgs came out and they certainly were not the first battle card game either (pokemon was literally printed by wizards of the coast because of their success with Magic: The Gathering)
@@Vanity0666 Thank you for that.
@@Vanity0666 did you even read my message? I said Pokemon was the biggest game franchise which is is.
where did you get I said it was the first ever?
Absolutely 0 advertising for this game
I watched some of the cut scenes and dialogue hit to love that SBI writing
Dj khaled "congratulations....you just got concorded"
Lol
5:29 is seriously the perfect description of these kind of games.

I make way better content than penguinz0
No.
5:16 well they aren't the ones playing the games. Imagine that.
The Unknown part of the title really taking effect
charlies channel is just a news channel but for the most obscure chronically online garbage and i love it so much
Concord is now a unit of measurement when determining failure
7:25 better than what's happening for the silksong community. tmrw trust

@@vro7537sequel to hollow knight a pretty much universally beloved 2d platformer thats also like a combat focused thing. Hard to explain if you've never seen it before and I'm not someone who plays that genre of game usually hollow knight is my exception. Basically they've been teasing it for like 5 years now and people have given up hope bc like awhile ago was when it was originally supposed to release.
2025 "GAMING"

I don't understand why would they discontinue this franchise. It hit all 200 modern audience players.
That shit really was unknown
Unknown 9: I’m the next big thing!
Me: Yeah, the next big thing... to never be heard of again.
It’s like putting a bottle out and expecting lightning to strike.
"Stop them from meddling with forces that should better be left untouched." 2:43
Yikes. That's some nasty AI writing right there.
There is literally nothing grammatically incorrect about that turn of phrase and it has actively been in use for longer than you have been alive.
Read a book sometime.
@@Vanity0666I'm pretty sure what they mean is that the sentence is so vague and generic it looks like an AI wrote it since it's very uninspired
I’ve always seen it phrased as “would be better left untouched.”
I love it Charlie conks our cords, truly a moment
The marketing team must have sucked because I had no idea this game existed
In all fairness, this was Bandai Namco so they have the cash to gamble (Tekken, Gundam, the entire physical Gacha industry, EDF, Pac-Man, Digimon, etc.)
Also, they can probably write this off on taxes, so this means virtually nothing to them as a whole.
Looking at all these trailers and their thumbnails, some of it seems very AI.
Now what's even funnier? They gave out free codes to this game like Candy to anyone who was buying AMD hardware at the time. These numbers are padded by people who never paid for the game in the first place.
They arguably paid several hundred dollars for the game
I’m so lost why do people hate this game? Never heard of it before but from the gameplay he showed us it looked pretty decent
That’s so wild, the whole ‘soul’ looking part of this is straight from lords of the fallen lmao
285 players (On Steam only mind you) is probably less than the number of people who worked on this game.
We found this generation’s Cheetahmen
4:28 unfortunate because Ibn Battuta actually had a super interesting life
I wonder if naming it Ibn Battuta had anything to do with it. They should have gone with something more catchy, like Balan Wonderworld
Unknown 9 must be the name of the one group of people that played it
The name is spot on. It is unknown alright
"Unknown 9 Narrative Universe" what in the fanfic did i just hear
Dear god, do gaming corporations not know what advertising is? Are the executives so strapped for cash that they're skimming off the marketing budget so they can afford their yachts?

It DID have massive marketing behind it with trailers and massive booths at game shows etc...
The game is just so uninteresting and looks bad.
The game seemed to have a decent amount of marketing, the game is just ass
Yeah ADVERSTISING was the problem with this game. Fuck outta here. The executives have to fund the developers lavish lives. But yeah, blame the faceless people in suits who write the 100 million checks and not the people who get that money and are supposed to allocate it.
it had massive advertisement lol it was on 2 or 3 game awards, had a big booth at gamescom as well. It just looked so boring nobody cared about it lol

You know it's a real flop when they had a trailer in every major games showcase and still no one cared to remember it, let alone even consider playing it or knowing it came out in the first place. LMAO
This is the Concord killer
Will Unknown 9 continue to follow Concord's footsteps and appear in Secret Level also? 😂
I love how from now on people will use Concord to compare how bad a game is doing lmao
I feel like this all started with Forspoken rather than Concord
@@TheBakerZen It did, untill Concord made it look fun. Now Concord is forever the benchmark of failure.
@@TheBakerZen this started way before that with the E.T game in the 80s
Game looks like a fake game you see in the background of a tv show. I know that gets thrown around a lot but geez, it looks like something you get when you tell a bunch of cg artists who don't play games "make something that looks like what the kids are into these days."
Also, obligatory joke of "they made it for the modern audience and all of them bought it, durr hurr"
I like that now all flops of this magnitude are “concord level failures”

@iswm The fuck is that supposed to mean
Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view's and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.
I saw the trailer for this one time a couple years ago and then never saw or heard anything ever again. And until THIS video, I had no idea it even released.
I thought this was about the Black Hawk Helicopter when i saw the title.
This is basically that one animated final fantasy film that takes the souls out of people
That was a pretty cool movie though tbh, but not very final fantasy
And this one didn't even have the name "Final Fantasy" to get people to look at it, and we saw how good The Spirits Within went over with people.
