Floette being tougher than Wailord actually does make a bit of sense when you look at it from a physics point of view. Wailord is actually less dense than air, it's basically a balloon. You wouldn't expect a balloon to be able tank much damage.
No offense, but Physics you say? You say that Wailord is less dense than air??? If it was lense dense than air it wouldn't be able to stay under water. It would just start floating. Either Physics in Pokemon don't make sense or the PokeDex entry is wrong, which isn't that rare
@@PlatinumManX yep, in a physics point of view wailord is very light compared to its height, making it less dense than air, also Wailord is literally the "float whale pokemon"
I have always thought that speed is how fast a Pokemon can unleash an attack, not how fast they can move. (Alakazam with its 120 base speed can basically instantly use psychic attacks, but can't move at super speed) Attack is not based just on how "strong" a pokemon is, but how damaging their attacks are. Onix is slow moving and can basically just nudge you hard, but a Bellsprout have razor sharp leaves which can cut sharper than a sword. Wailord is based on a blimp. It's insides are mostly just air so it makes sense it have low defense.
Onix actually has quite good speed though so by this logic given its size it actually should have very good attack due to being something that size that can quickly unleash its attacks.
About Trapinch's base Attack stat being higher than that of its evolved form and is the same as that of its final evolved form, that may be a reference to the fact that antlion larvae are more aggressive and predatory than their adult stages.

6:28 Arceus has the highest base stats of any normal form pokemon. Others who surprass it have either to Mega evolve, undergo Primal Reversion, or change forms in some other way.
For the Groudon and Arbok fact, it's important to keep in mind that pokemon like Arbok are measured from the tip of its tail to the tip of its head, while Groudon is measured from head to toe
16:43 Duraladon being so light might be because Duraladon is based on the material durallium, a light weight metal. (If I am wrong about this let me know)
also, because it's based pretty heavily on a lighter. lighters tend to have pretty thin metal casings on top of using lighter metals, so that they can be light enough for you to light up without much effort
3:40 -- To be fair, I always assumed the 11'6'' referred to the length of Arbok, not its standing height since it doesn't stand up on the tip of its tail. Meaning, it probably only stands up about 3'-5', leaving the remaining 6'-8' on the ground like most real-life snakes do. So it is more accurate to say that Arbok's length is equivalent to Groundon's standing height... P.S.: 10:30 -- I totally agree! Always believed it ought to have been Luvdisc's evolution...

flavorfully, though, they're identical to nincada _except_ its defense is halved, representing how while it was effective at deflecting physical blow while nincada still resided within, the loss of mass from decay and being shed has rendered it _significantly_ easier to crush after all, the ability to resist physical force is based around both toughness _and_ being able to temporarily deform with minimal or no permanent deformation. if you hit a bug, the both its exoskeleton and its innards absorb the force, and much like the innards of any animal, bug innards are _designed_ to deform by their very nature as basically biological machines. on the other hand, if you hit a bug's discarded exoskeleton? ain't nothing but the air or liquid trapped inside that's gonna take the force alongside it, and neither has much of a shape to maintain, so ... yeah, that thing's gonna break a _lot_ easier, even if it's freshly shed and its previous owner broke out in a way that did minimal damage to its integrity
Personally, I think a way to make sense out of speed stats, is that they don't necessarely have to tie in on how fast they can move around an open field, but rather how fast they are able to react to things (AKA not move speed, but brain processing speed)

Every time I watch one of your Pokemon videos makes me want to do a complete play through of a game! Looking forward to a facts video on the Pokemon of sword and shield
Game Freak is watching this video and taking notes for future buffs
Yup
And by buffs, they are giving the buffs to already broken Pokémon
They will increase the atk stat of krabby.
Game freak finds a video about weird stats
Also game freak:Take notes take notes
We need to quadruple rayquazas state,.all of them
15:17 well small misconception.
It was never called Speed, its initiative. Reactionspeed, not Movementspeed. Thats why Pokemon like Donphan are slow and fast at the same Time.
18:00 If it runs out of AP, it can performe the Desperationmove.
Here's another one:
- Shedinja: It has Def. and Spcl. Def. stats.
Despite having a meager 1 hp.
3:03 the bellsprout turns into an oddish
I had two facts in this video!
Samurott and Youngster Joey came from me. I feel so special.
Gj man
14:00 still waiting on that top 10 craziest Krabby facts 😂 I marked your words
*looks or an image of archanine * “yup. That’s a cloyster “
When I started Let’s Go Eevee, I had a Bellsprout in my team that OHKO'd Brock's Onix with vine whip. I thought the concept of this tiny little weed guy slapping a huge rock snake with a vine it had was so funny, I kept it on my team and kept vine whip on it. In the end, my Victreebell used vine whip on Trip's Slowbro, taking it out, and winning me the Pokemon league.
3:03 I know you switched that Bellsprout there don't try to deceive me
Most likely intentional but could be an editing mistake
Oddish
It would make more sense if by the word speed means the speed of reaction.
The fact about Arbok isn’t really true because serpent Pokémon are measured head to tail, not ground to top like Groudon
Look, there's so many pokemon that I think they just throw random numbers out and hope no one cares.
Duraludon has an ability called Light Metal and Heavy Metal so it can be lightweight or heavyweight.
Also it's pokedex states that it's made of a light weight metal
I think the speed stat in pokemon is not necessarily how fast a pokemon can run/fly. It's more about reaction/reflex speed. How fast a pokemon can react to the trainer's commands and how fast it can launch It's attack. In a sporting fight, the guy who runs faster isn't necessarily the first one to land a punch. However, the guy with the faster reaction and reflex will
Krabby is my new hero 🦀
6:28 Arceus has the highest base stats of any normal form pokemon. Others who surprass it have either to Mega evolve, undergo Primal Reversion, or change forms in some other way.
Don't underestimate slurpuff he sweeps..... I got swept.....*sobs*
You got swept by a belly drum + Unburden slurpuff
@@giovanniascione4552 I know ridiculously over powered with decent coverage he's just OP
If you fell useless, remember that Shedinja has defence/special defence stats.
Watching rhyhorns race is like watching chansey’s lift weights
For the Groudon and Arbok fact, it's important to keep in mind that pokemon like Arbok are measured from the tip of its tail to the tip of its head, while Groudon is measured from head to toe
This is what happens when a 10 year old makes the pokedex
hahahahaha
so trueeeeeeeee
I always thought that the guy outside Cerulean Cave had a beefeater/London guard's hat on, when I was younger
Its weird how purugly is faster than the eon Pokémon
6:05 CHAD IS A LEGENDARY
16:43 Duraladon being so light might be because Duraladon is based on the material durallium, a light weight metal.
(If I am wrong about this let me know)
also, because it's based pretty heavily on a lighter. lighters tend to have pretty thin metal casings on top of using lighter metals, so that they can be light enough for you to light up without much effort
The snake Pokémons’ “height” tells you how long it is, not how tall it is.
4:55 yay legend arcoos
"arkoos"
In response to the ultra beast that looks like paper it’s smart, because paper beats rock
You forgot to mention that Shedinja has defense stats.
Should put those on evasion or speed
@@sirgeen evasion is not a stat
@@dragonmaster3030 I realized that a little while after but forgot where I put it lol
If kartana has a high speed stat as well then I can sort of umderstand it
0:20 brock eyes reveal?!?.. finally
u know too much (this is meme)
I'm glad I watched this video because I finally found a reason to use my level 5 magikarp against the champions!
4:54 you confirmed cyndiquill to be the rat in the Chinese Zodiac
3:40 -- To be fair, I always assumed the 11'6'' referred to the length of Arbok, not its standing height since it doesn't stand up on the tip of its tail. Meaning, it probably only stands up about 3'-5', leaving the remaining 6'-8' on the ground like most real-life snakes do. So it is more accurate to say that Arbok's length is equivalent to Groundon's standing height...
P.S.: 10:30 -- I totally agree! Always believed it ought to have been Luvdisc's evolution...
100% catch rate? So how did Leon's pokéball fail? 🤔
That was a simple eternetus wasn't it?
Or
Leon is a loser
@@pranavbatra6286 Oh yeah, you're right, it was a standart Eternatus, my bad.. but now when I think about it, there's still a chance the pokéball would fail if u used a beast ball on it, I must try that out someday 😏
5:48 NOICE reference!
18:00 : in the same vein, Shedinja has actual defensive stats, even if it's by definition totally useless for them
flavorfully, though, they're identical to nincada _except_ its defense is halved, representing how while it was effective at deflecting physical blow while nincada still resided within, the loss of mass from decay and being shed has rendered it _significantly_ easier to crush
after all, the ability to resist physical force is based around both toughness _and_ being able to temporarily deform with minimal or no permanent deformation. if you hit a bug, the both its exoskeleton and its innards absorb the force, and much like the innards of any animal, bug innards are _designed_ to deform by their very nature as basically biological machines. on the other hand, if you hit a bug's discarded exoskeleton? ain't nothing but the air or liquid trapped inside that's gonna take the force alongside it, and neither has much of a shape to maintain, so ...
yeah, that thing's gonna break a _lot_ easier, even if it's freshly shed and its previous owner broke out in a way that did minimal damage to its integrity
Personally, I think a way to make sense out of speed stats, is that they don't necessarely have to tie in on how fast they can move around an open field, but rather how fast they are able to react to things (AKA not move speed, but brain processing speed)
