Have u every heard of no taxation without representation the British didn’t give them taxes because they were independent the gave them taxes because they had been fighting France for seven years and were running low on money.And they fought France for America’s freedom along with theirs so the colonists were angry because they were being taxed and had no one from America in parliament to say otherwise therefore taxation without representation

Failed to mention that part of the enforcement of the Townsend Acts were that the Brits would invade people's homes with no probable cause supposedly to enforce taxation, but many times was a way to go after people they thought were subversive.
