In terms of performance, at the moment, MacBooks are superior, as are they in terms of productivity because MacOS has a ton of useful productivity apps that are very high standard and do not run on other systems. Many apps are optimised for MacOS and run very good on the hardware. Even Windows itself runs often faster in a virtual machine than on usual Windows laptops with equal or even better specs. You don't have many compatibility issues, especially with an Intel processor and overall the hardware and what you get in terms of quality is great. I have for example never touched a better trackpad than that on my MacBook. I like it so much, I use the trackpad more than my mouse. The display is amazing, the battery as well and they comfortably beat Windows laptops in that regard. MacOS is also not as restricted as you might think. I would say it's comparable to Windows (have not yet made my way towards the deeper system yet, though). You can side-load apps and all work pretty fine. I have encountered a few bugs here and there with MacOS. Still, I would not want to switch to sloppy Windows any time soon anymore. To talk about Gaming, the current processors are so fast that they are able to run games pretty good, not comparable to high end gaming laptops, sure, but that's still not the aim for MacBooks. MacBooks are aimed for productivity and in that, they are very useful and Gaming will be more and more common on MacBooks, especially since you are now able to run most Steam games under Linux and therefore most likely also on MacOS

But I recommend you downloading ggos but be aware you have to set drivers it gets way better fps than normal windows some guy said in valorant before it was 150 after 300 . My experience Minecraft before 300 after 500-600. Be aware I recommend ggos for only type of laptops that don't have touchscreen.

4k is insane, go for the 16gb ram, 512gb model and replace the ssd. I have one, the thing rocks. it was about 2k, so still expensive af. but a lot of people forget about the pen and touch support display which really makes it a mobile studio for everything

I purchased mine with the same specs for $3k. If you drop back to 1tb, you could get it for $2k. This was the initial pricing at release two years ago. You can get them with bigger discounts now that they are being closed out. The surface laptop studio 2 isn't even close to $4k in price.

Having got one for my customer I can say yes they are. The fact it has a 3080ti in it and the build quality is amazing. The laptop is one of the best on the market I've setup within the last few year's. Very underrated device
