It's time for us to start thinking about cancer again. After several months of travelling around Europe in a van with our two young kids, the time has come for us to start heading back home to get a cancer update.
It's been 6 months since Malin's last cancer scans, so now is the time to get an update on her cancer status, and that means that cancer anxiety starts to show it's face again. During the last few months, we've spend almost no time thinking about Malin's colorectal cancer, as we've been living in our van and travelling Europe with kids, it's been fantastic to start the healing process.
Malin was diagnosed with an aggressive form of colon cancer in October 2022, and has since had radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and two major operations, where she has had her uterus and colon removed, and is left with a permanent colostomy bag.

Who are we?

We are a young 'Swenglish' adventure family, that consists of Swedish Malin, English Tom, and babies Charlie & Isabella, who are half and half. We love all kinds of adventures, including travelling around Sweden and beyond in our self-built campervan called Sunny, we're currently travelling the warmer climates of southern Europe and are glad to be cancer-free, after a rough battle with colon cancer.

You express how it feels to have to return to appointments that might find cancer. I am starting my sixth year of "no cancer" and I always have this little nagging stomach jump as I put my hand on the door to my oncologist! It just gets to be less anxiety as time goes by. Know that there is a circle of cancer survivors out there that surround you with peaceful thoughts and get what you are feeling. I so love that you have taken me along with you on this most wonderful trip. I feel like I have been to Spain, even though I will never get to see it in person. Hugs to you and your family.
Every rescan creates anxiety and takes me back to the trauma and worry. You got this!

Scanxiety (I think that’s what it’s called). I have bone marrow biopsy anxiety….checking for recurrence of multiple myeloma. So I totally understand your heart. And you are so right…. Worrying about what hasn’t happened takes the joy from today. I hope and pray that this anxiousness can be put on the back burner longer, as you can still enjoy traveling towards Sweden and seeing family and a good report. 🙏🏻

I have cancer but I also have lots of other life threatening and ongoing health issues and disabilities. I am at the doctors and hospitals 1-3 times a week, I don't get a single week off except maybe around Christmas and the new year. I know how it feels to have lots of appointments and tests. I went away to a family holiday home for two weeks in the past 12 months. I don't know when I will be able to get away from all this again. It's exhausting. Wishing you all the best! ❤

Keeping everything crossed for you. I finished my cancer treatment in November and now see my oncologist every 3 months. Blimey, these appointments terrify me! But I'm trying to think that they give me a reset for the next 3 months. My oncologist has told me not to let these appointments stop me from making plans. It's easier said than done. I hope your appointments go really well and you can then get on with enjoying the summer. Love your videos!

Guys, I totally understand your increasing anxiety, but try not to go down the „what if“ road. Enjoy the next 3 weeks and don’t worry. Whatever will be, will be. Worrying won’t change a thing. „Miami Beach“ is beautiful! Next time maybe you‘ll be able to stay longer! Have a good trip!

Do some meditation and picture the cancer is gone. People heal themselves sometimes, but it requires you literally believe it’s gone. I follow another girl and her tumors are almost gone. Wishing you all the best and health. ❤❤❤❤

I absolutely Love you two. Well of course Charlie and Bella. Malin, try to put the scans and all the dr appts out of your head sweetie. Haha yea right? I know it’s got to be so hard and it’s for sure not fair, but try to enjoy the next 3 weeks and face the dreaded dr stuff when you get back home. I continue to keep you in my prayers. All of you are in my prayer for safe travels and to have the bestest of times. Girl, you’re getting soo red ( burned) please, please use Sunscreen on your face ( esp.) a good light 50++++. We do not wanting you to have any problems and or health issues within your skin. Please I am not trying to scare you. Just concerned. You two are like my own. And Charlie and Bella as my grands. 😊.
