Also there is another reference to Instant Karma by John Lennon and I find it's so great when artists feel so involved in different artists's songs... John Lennon for sure had a strong influence over many artists, also Freddie Mercury for example...
I have been listening to this song for 50 odd years and never heard that until now. I happened to see your comment just at the right time when the chant was in full swing in the background. Dang!
Fargo Season 5 premiered recently and the into ep had this song used brilliantly. I recommend watching it, if at least not he first few minutes where the song is featured. Each season is self-contained so you don't need to watch the first 4 seasons
YES is the greatest progressive rock band in my opinion. I subscribe to anyone who reacts to them. Loads of greats including "Roundabout", "Awaken", "The Gates of Delirium", "Close to the Edge", "Turn of the Century", "Starship Trooper", "That, That Is", "The Revealing Science of God", "In the Presence of" lots more.
In the history of this band if you were invited to be a member it meant you were one of the finest musicians on the planet at the time. My favorite line-up - Jon Anderson - Lead Vocals, rhythm guitar, tambourine, percussion. Chris Squire - Bass Guitars. Steve Howe Guitars, Rick Wakeman - Keyboards, Alan White - Drums,
First time catching your reaction to my fav band! If you’ve enjoyed this tune…you can Dive In! Seriously Yes music is Full! Each member is a Maestro of their instrument-including the Phenomenal voice of Jon Anderson-using his voice as an instrument.. Their Library of work will take you for a ride..if you can absorb it..some people can’t… Hope you decide to check them out more! Starship Trooper Yours is No Disgrace Heart of the Sunrise Roundabout-definitely 😊 Maybe after these you’ll appreciate: Close to The Edge Awaken Entire Relayer Album-it’s a masterpiece! And Tales of Topographic Oceans-listened to as an album…like Relayer, CTTE and hell even Going for the One Album!!❤❤ ya I’m a fan.
It's quite incredible our 2 similarities. I've also seen YES 4 times... the best was in KC and they were doing "In The Round" where a round stage rotated over the crowd. In one of your earlier comments to me about Joe Walsh, I've also seen him twice as well. The 2nd time I had won radio tickets and sat in 2nd row center stage, but of course no one actually sat down.
@@dabassmann I've been incredibly lucky to have seen over 300 concerts since 1966 and met several ICONS and made sure I shook both their hands.... David Gilmour, Eddie Van Halen, Ted Nugent Joe Perry, Steve Lukather,, Billy Gibbons, Kerry Livgren.
@@AliasMark69 That's awesome dude. Back then tickets were $5-$20 so we went as often as possible. You shook hands with David Gilmour??? I'm down on my knees praising you as a God!!! LOL Honestly, I've only shook hands with 2 artists, Joe Walsh because of the radio tickets and with Leo Kottke who played hundreds of FREE concerts in various parks and walked through the crowd after each show. I tried keeping ticket stubs, still have a lot, but the ink has faded on so many they are hard to even read. I really have no idea how many concerts we went to, but it was well over 200.
@@dabassmann I lived in O.C. Calif. Concert venues were everywhere. I have over 100 tickets on a wall and over 150 concert T-Shirts. Five concert hats and dozens of buttons. My music room is awesome.
Now you need to do 'Awaken', which might be not only their best output, but the best song ever, by anyone! And nobody but Yes could do the song justice. A transcendental journey to the 'other side of life'.
I loved the reaction! I like so many things about this song, but the outro with the amazingly strong organ and ORGAN BASS, modulating down, down, and down, gets me every time. I want to listen to the outro loud!
Yes are an English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968 by lead singer Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Peter Banks, keyboardist Tony Kaye, and drummer Bill Bruford. The band has undergone numerous line-up changes throughout their history, during which 20 musicians have been full-time members.
In 1967 I walked 6 miles to go buy their album...The band had 21 Billboard Top 40 hits between 1969 and 1975, with three hitting number one.... Three Dog Night - "One"

Yes has been blessed to have excellent musicians in every phase of their lengthy career. Awesome prog rock.
My Mother "Dotty" made the Rickenbacker Bass Chris Squire played in this song, and many others.
How cool!!!!!

One of my all time favorite bands. Was there when they arrived on the scene.
Chris Squire everyone!
I've had the extreme good fortune to have seen YES Live 4 times. At SPAC, N.Y.... Kansas opened for them. Amazing show.

The best word to describe this band's style of music..... "Yes"
Hey JM, have a great "Independence Day". I'm happy you finally did this group. I'm sure you are too. Nothing quite like seeing them Live.
Oh Yes:: "And You And I" by them - it's really out of this world (so typical Yes of the 70s)

Yes, "Starship Trooper"!!!

Appreciate your patience to hear it out...
Nice reaction 😊 Next up, Roundabout. It’s the ringtone for my phone because the song always puts a smile on my face 😊
I (personally) find the song much more "intoxicating" in the live version on the Yessongs album. If you have some time, you may listen to it.
Heart of the Sunrise is a good one.
You need to see them live.... "And You And I"
Steve Howe. Voted Rock Guitarist Of The Year many times in his career. See them live.
Wow! Sure takes ya back
No kidding!
Nice reaction now listen to the whole album. Greatest show on earth.
I hope you guys go back and listen to the original version ...you know the ones we grew up hearing before youtube shortened them down.
