It brought tears to my eyes watching Kel's face blossom as the song progressed. It's so great that the two of you are going on this journey together. Love it! Keep it up!
Her reactions....(especially to musicians' playing)!...Once she mentioned that she had an appreciation for great music, and had been participated w/band/choir, then I understand. Kel has a great ear for it...please continue what you are doing guys!!!
Watching Kells first time hearing this classic was fantastic.I grew up on some of this stuff and Its been so long sense Ive seen that first time joy! Good stuff!
Yes,I totally agree. I've been into Yes,Genesis and a lot of other prog and heavy rock for about 45 years and am just a little envious of people hearing this stuff for the first time lol. Having said that,I love to see Kel's first reactions to some of this stuff.
Steve was rated #70 on Rolling Stones' Top 100 Guitarists.... number 69 was Jerry Miller (in Moby Grape).... he's from Tacoma. Have played with him many times for 30 years. (Eric Clapton's favorite guitarist) But it's so funny that Steve Howe (my fave)... is "below" Jerry. I told him that... and Jerry just laughed. "Yeah, some like some... and others like others".
Steve Howe was voted best rock guitar player 5 years in a row by "Guitar Player Magazine", and when you consider David Gilmour, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton and many others are all in the running, that is an amazing feat. I think Guitar Player Magazine is the ultimate judge of guitar players, since most everyone that voted was a guitar player themselves, and hence, it was not just a popularity contest.
"Don't surround yourself with yourself." Honestly, if this song and band doesn't raise hair off our skins, we have issues. The musicianship and technical aspects of the song is so advanced and tight. The ending part Kel with the organ is totally classical and brilliant. Thanks for listening and sharing
I remember my old man barging in my room while I was listening to Yes and barking about discord and whatever. He’s now 90 and still around thankfully and I’m still listening to Yes❤️❤️❤️
Kel, Yes is one of those bands that are so dear to me. Prog rock gods for sure. Seeing your reaction to this...your sweet genuine smiles and laughter actually made my eyes well up a bit. I love this song so very much, and I'm so happy that you know it now. Keep up the great vids guys, they are fantastic !
What a marvelous time we live in. Any song you could ever want to hear is only seconds away. I don't know why but watching you two made me realize that I can't take it with me. I'm approaching 70 and you start thinking about shit like that. Can you imagine leaving all this music behind? Bummer.
Kel N Rich, you made my night. This song by YES is what made me the person I am today. I was in the choir when this came out. It struck a chord within my soul that I picked up a guitar and learned to play this very song for the first time. When other people heard me play this and a few Beatles tunes, my musical career began to take off in the Southern Rock era. If I was in a coma, and someone played this tune for me; I would awaken from my deep slumber. Thanks guys. :-)
It's wonderful to see reactions like Kel's. I'm 53 and remember growing up and my aunts and uncle introducing me to all this great music. Music that will still be on the airwaves in another 40 years. Not the junk they make today. Thank you for making my day.
Really cool to see Kell's reactions to these songs. Brings me back to when I first heard them. Actually felt myself getting a little emotional recalling the thoughts and feelings I had when I was discovering new music like this back in the day.
This moved me to tears and a smile. One of my brother Lloyd's favorite bands. He would shut himself in his room, grab his bass, and rock the roof off the house. So many happy memories. Thanks, and sending lots of love your way. :-)
@@sallyannmiller6589 completely disagree with that, the whole decade was fantastic,we had the punk explosion in '76 and then new wave, the start of indie. think again. by the way,Dark Side of the Moon was released AFTER 1972.
LOL...Virtually ALL their albums stand the test of time! Fragile, Close to the Edge, Tales from Topographic Oceans, Relayer, Going for the One are all timeless. The Beethovens of our time.
@@Walamonga1313 These three stand above all the others. Yes made a number of extremely good albums. That said, these three are what made Yes the loved and respected band they are. All three are, each in their own right and way, flawless masterpieces. And so amazingly different from each other!
OMG this song brings back fantastic memoriesI for me. I was in a rock band in the late seventies and we played this song amongst other Yes songs. I love this tune! Thanks for reacting to it. I love watching Kel in her journey to discover music that she was not allowed to listen to when she was young. GO KEL! You two are so much fun to watch. Rich, I applaud your approach to teaching Kel about different bands and artists.
Wow...loved it...loved watching Kel really getting into it...so much fun! You are doing it exactly right Rich. Do all the classic studio albums from YES first, then the individual solo stuff. Some YES songs are so powerful and so well played that they can literally bring me to tears. What a great journey you are on now...this rabbit hole is deep! The YES album, Fragile, Close to the Edge, Relayer and Going for the One are all amazing. Enjoy Kel!
Good evening from London, wow thanks for sharing that wonderful song, I have never heard of this band before but that was very entertaining, I will have to check some more of their music out. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day.
born in Victoria in 1956, and had the privilege of going to 2 schools with great music programs, not just band class. So I was listening to Prog Rock with my music geek friends long before it was on the radio. Watching Kel's reactions takes me back 5 decades. Pop radio friends thought we had lost our minds.
I just love sharing Kel's exuberance when she's really loving a great classic rock song! When the song changed and she laughed and applauded, well we musicians really appreciate something special in the music we listen to and Yes has delivered that for decades! Love that Kel!
This is my first time watching any of your reactions... but I must say that Kel's reaction is probably the best one I've seen ever! I love how she was so open to it.. I watched her take the journey and enjoy the ride. They don't write music like that anymore. Now it's time for me to watch another video by you two... Thanks
If you guys listen to the words on this song, they line up with the game of chess... Beautiful woven in the fabric of this song. "Don't surround yourself with yourself" is a rule to those who play chess cuz surrounding yourself with your pieces can lead to a loss. Thank you guys for picking one of my fav song to listen to❤
This is my very favorite reaction video I have ever seen. I love this song and seeing it bring so much happiness to another as they listen and fall in love with it for the first time, I don't know why it makes me feel so happy, but it does. I have watched this vid multiple times, and I'm sure I'll be back....thanks, folks......great job!

The selections are like a trip through my extensive album collection and the emotional input and output are so pure. Thanks for taking Kel and your extensive audience through this multi faceted journey!
Rich, I love the look on your face when you started hearing the "All we are saying... Is give peace a chance". It still gives me goose bumps when I hear it. Kel, your smile lights up the room on this song. It makes me feel great to see your reaction. BTW this is a huge audience participation song at all the YES shows. Clapping, singing and hand dancing. Even the hard core prog fans tap their toes and smile. Thanks for uploading.
So wonderful watching Kel enjoy this! I was raised in a classical/choral family. Just out of HS 1978, I visited an old tennis team buddy in South Pasadena on a cul de sac way up in a canyon. Ronnie rolled 5ft. high Klipsch speakers out onto the patio & blasted this song for the whole neighborhood. It was surreal!
Kel, it's always such a joy watching you. When I'm in a pissy mood, all I have to do is watch your joyful reactions and it reminds me that, yes, in the words of REM, there are shiny happy people out there. Peace!
The first time I heard this band was in high school ,a friend of mine had the best stereo system you could have at the time in a car.Jenson 3-ways thru a kenwood system. We smoked a doobie and he said check this out and I could not move. I was mezmerized and paralized at the same time. Thank you for taking me back to the days when music was fantastic and pot was enjoyable but did not completely kick your backside.Circa 1976?The album cover from the one I was exposed to was a green photo with the band and a maniquin head kinda floating between them. This brought back memories of high school friends past, I have tears running down my face. brought up some good memories as well as a few sorrows. But i thank you so much for that. Peace out!
Kel, you have some of the best reactions to the surprises that you experience in these first reactions. I love that you love the diversity of the music
Thank you Kel, your reaction is priceless and exactly the same reaction I experienced when first listening to this, so many years ago. Like someone crawling into your brain and simultaneously pressing all the happy buttons, just impossible not to smile. At the time, I thought YES must be aliens or super geniuses or both to be capable of creating such musical masterpieces. Thank you YES for the years of listening pleasure and for the sonic backdrop to my life.
Anyone who gets YES is a pleasure to see! I subscribed immediately! Another group that comes to mind is anything by Steely Dan. Best session musicians ever put together by Fagen and Becker. Kel should appreciate their genius. Glad I found you two. Thanks for the entertaining videos.
I have been a YES fan since birth..... watching her reaction and you reacting to her reacting to this tune really made my day! Stay on your journey together.....I would normally never request anything but since RUSH and YES are slowly filtering into your music library I think she would absolutely love Genesis from the early 70s with Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks.... the album...A Trick of The Tail..... the both of you could spend months listening to just those 3 bands listed above and have a blast! Love your channel.... once again....fantastic reaction!
Don't know why but instantly brought me to tears to hear this after so many years. It was definitely an anthem when I was in high school. So, so fun to watch Kell experience so much joy from it. Great pick.
Wow.... The early 70's a bunch of friends and me would head to Sauble Beach, a small resort town on Lake Huron (Canada). The cottages where too expensive for college kids so we pitched tents in the sand dunes, bend our minds and have Yes blaring all night. Great memory flashback. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it Kel. YES have a great back catalogue of music. They are a classic prog rock band. They are in my top 6 of bands, of which the other 5 are GENESIS, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, RUSH, and the Beatles.
Yes is appropriately named. Always a positive message :) Trippy without substances. Thanks! "Don't surround yourself with yourself...All we are saying is give peace a chance" :) Love your reaction, Kel..authentic, just like I felt in 1971 when I heard it with driving up Little Cottonwood Canyon my loving girl for the first time!
I have been a yes fan since they came on the scene in 1972, I saw a legendary performance of this song at the LA Forum when the stage was set up to be a chess board. Every down beat of the base the band would move onto a new square on the floor! Black squares and Neon Green squares that would pulse with every beat as they moved. UNREAL. Great reaction Kell. Keep on discovering!
Glad I found another Yes reaction and also to see the love you have. Yes can be taken too seriously and us fans can be unforgiving in picking apart wrong names on wrong albums, and everything. But the truth is that it should be fun. While it is intellectually deep, what’s the point if it’s not just a damn good listen ok the first place? It’s taken me 38 years to get to where I am. But it’s been a fun fun fun time with Yes. Go at your own pace. I seem to stumble across more of your reactions that I didn’t see at first glance. Sink into that celestial bed slowly. ❤

Glad to see Kel enjoy what is a classic song by Yes. It was a spontaneous reaction that was very honest. It is a great song. Thank you both for reviewing this one.
This was the first YES song I heard when I was with my Dad on a road trip. I find it difficult not to be emotional when I hear it. Another you should hear is Pink Floyd 'Shine on you crazy diamond' Again, the very first Pink Floyd song I heard. So amazing. ❤❤❤❤
Tony Kaye was the keyboard player on this song and The Yes Album which it came from.Rick Wakeman joined them on their next album Fragile.Yes have been one of my favourite bands since the seventies and it's great to see Kel's reaction on hearing this stuff for the first time.Keep up the great work guys. You brighten my day.
At 57yrs of age I cannot and will not ever lose that child like wonder of music. When it was the "Primal" beating of the wooden club on some Arttic cave, or blowing of a conch shell on some past uncharted Isle, we each literally move to our own beat!! Music has , and will always push our Imaginations, It will pull us together as humans and finally, Lift us, to continue on as it were always remembering the the simple beat of life, Our Hearts.
I watched a Yes concert from couple years ago that was excellent. He still was hitting high notes. There's a couple version of Yes now but it's looking like the classic line up might reform minus the late great Chris Squire
I saw YES back in the 1980s at Reunion Arena in Dallas. The band Berlin was supposed to be the opening act but they broke up during that tour. So instead of Berlin they showed a couple of Bugs Bunny cartoons on a big screen. It was great.
When this song first came out, the top 40 radio stations only played the first part of the song. I loved it as it was until I heard the WHOLE song on FM radio. Then I was completely blown away and, right there, became a Yes fan for life.
I have seen this song performed live a number of times. It's been around forever and is still an audience favorite. Chris Squire, the deceased bass player did a lot of the vocal arranging.
I really enjoy seeing Kel's innocent, unbridled joy, when she's really enjoying something for the first time. It makes me appreciate this music that I've had with me for decades, that much more! The Yes Album is pure gold, start to finish! "Yours Is No Disgrace" "Clap" (she would love Howe stretching out on this piece!!) and "Starship Trooper" are essential Yes tunes for me. Jon Anderson is the brother of Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, I know you've done some of that. Chris Squire is a phenomenal bass player, and made me see and think of the bass as so much more than a background rhythm instrument! Chris played "Lead Bass" and really carries the melodies in so much of their material. Seeing them live on the "Close to the Edge" tour is still a highlight in my musical life. A little "unknown" band, at the time, opened for them.......The Eagles! Strange bedfellows indeed!
What a pretty song just makes you want to hug everybody specially the beginning. Her reaction is very nice to see you can see the magic of a beautiful melody what it does to someone. Thats why God created music thru inspiring many people and composers spiritually to write & for all of us to enjoy and share. Glenn P. in N.Y.
Hey Glenn here from Vancouver BC. Fun watching you react to Yes. I seen Yes live in 1974 at the Pacific Coliseum, outstanding band, A couple/few songs I think you should check out by Yes : Love will find a Way, Roundabout & get ready for an adventure with Yours is no Disgrace! It is so cool to see people discover this music and I can suggest more if you like! I also seen Jethro Tull live as well outstanding show and music, a real entertainer! If you can listen to only one Yes in my list choose Yours is No Disgrace! See ya!
My wife and I are so much like you two as far as enjoying music! Recently shared several songs with her, with one of her favorites being "Sound of Madness" by Shine down.. and she's a country music fan! To be fair though she was introduced to the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, and Skid Rowe as a kid lol.
Ok, this is the first time I've ever heard that first part. Awesome! First time I heard this song, it was on a VHS tape of "MTV's closet classics". It had The Grateful Dead (One More Saturday Night) Black Sabbath (Paranoid) and Cream (Sunshine of your Love) among others.
I just loved the look on hubby's face as he knows the strange turn to electric guitars is coming up.....and yeah...what a great look on her face when it hits.
There is something cathartic about watching the joy of another person feeling the way you felt the first time you heard a song. A sure sign that the shortest distance between two people is a song.
I love it when Kel is digging a tune. It's almost an innocent joy upon her face. Very refreshing!
OMG 5:30 to 5:55 the joy on here face and clapping was enough to make me smile without being able to stop. great stuff.

Glad you enjoyed it Kel. YES have a great back catalogue of music. They are a classic prog rock band. They are in my top 6 of bands, of which the other 5 are GENESIS, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, RUSH, and the Beatles.
Exactly
Throw in Tull Doors Marillion and Styx
Arguably the Best Reaction Video from you two.
@Hidden Aspects Saying "arguably" is another way of stating an opinion that is shared by more than one. yet not defined as 100% fact. People will have their own opinions and beliefs about said statement, and encourages the poster to have a valid discussion as to why/ why not you would agree/ disagree with my comment.
Oh you guys are great! I’m a musician and I love sharing music with my wife. I love her reactions!
Another you should hear is Pink Floyd 'Shine on you crazy diamond'
Again, the very first Pink Floyd song I heard.
So amazing. ❤❤❤❤
That was one of the best reactions of this song I've seen.
When it was the "Primal" beating of the
wooden club on some
Arttic cave, or blowing of a conch shell on some past uncharted Isle, we each literally move to our own beat!!
Music has , and will always push our Imaginations, It will pull us together as humans and finally,
Lift us, to continue on as it were always remembering the the simple beat of life,
Our Hearts.
This reaction is my favorite of all the reactions (yours or anyone elses)! Seriously.
I can't tell you how much I LOVE this song!!! It is part of the soundtrack of my life. Kel is so beautiful, expressive, and joyous!!
I watched a Yes concert from couple years ago that was excellent. He still was hitting high notes. There's a couple version of Yes now but it's looking like the classic line up might reform minus the late great Chris Squire
Kel looks like she is enjoying this as much as a kid trying ice cream for the first time. Love the reaction.
I saw YES back in the 1980s at Reunion Arena in Dallas. The band Berlin was supposed to be the opening act but they broke up during that tour. So instead of Berlin they showed a couple of Bugs Bunny cartoons on a big screen. It was great.
Kel...don't ever loose your JOY. I love to watch you two.
Kaye's powerful organ fadeout with overlapping vocals is the crowning glory of the piece, often sadly cut by DJs.
So happy you did YES. They seem to be overlooked all the time.
I was just thinking I’d love to see Kel’s reaction to this song and bam! It’s here. ❤️
I always have so much fun watching you guys!
Thank you @wu wei! We appreciate you being here!!!!
What a pretty song just makes you want to hug everybody specially the beginning. Her reaction is very nice to see you can see the magic of a beautiful melody what it does to someone. Thats why God created music thru inspiring many people and composers spiritually to write & for all of us to enjoy and share. Glenn P. in N.Y.
Ah, Classic Yes! I had this on cassette in my car in High school. wore the cassette out! Love yes...
Firth of Fifth, Genesis gold. Awaken by Yes, Turn of the Century. Lots of music.
Steve Howe just kills it. Nice reaction, I'm glad you liked it Kel. I've been listening to YES for 45 yrs.
I think Kel is a YES fan. Good for her. Wonderous Stories is always great too.
Thank you I knew kel would love it. Rich was pretty into it as well.As much as I am tempted I won't request anything else for a while
Timeless great song. YES was part of soundtrack of my teenage years! Glad she's enjoying it!😎👍😀
Oh god you should do Starship Trooper or Long Distant Runaround she would love those.
Definitivly!
See ya!
So many great Yes songs. Glad Kel loved it.
I LOVE seeing REAL first time reactions! ✌️✌️❤❤!
GREAT times they were!
