I went with a TesDriver like format in Texas. I worked out an agreement with a private party and I paid $325/wk for a Black on Black Model 3 Mid range. It was awesome. I even had access to both Uber and Lyft (Lux, Lux Black). After 8 months of using for Lyft and Uber I stepped up to a Model Y LR This put me in the Lyft XL, Black XL, Lux and Lux Black all for the negotiated price of $375/wk. still below the Uber/Hertz Model 3 rental.
Sound like you have a great solution up there, I need to find it here kuzz this rental is expensive for what I get with only 1 platform. Need them both to make it work.
O.K. Appreciate the video. Because UBER is trying to move drivers toward Electric Vehicles, EVs. For their benefit, not yours. I'm talking from Los Angeles. I'm a 30 year limo driver. UBER since 2013. Clearly over 20,000 rides. I rented a Tesla from Hertz in Los Angeles from June 2022 to August 2022. 3 months. 90 days. A good amount of time to evaluate this "rideshare product". And my conclusion is........... THIS UBER-HERTZ-TESLA PRODUCT IS NO GOOD. First off, the cost, $500 per week! Are you kidding me?! Just ridiculous when a fulltime UBER driver in a big busy market like Los Angeles can barely make $1000 per week BEFORE expenses. I had HERTZ charge me $78! out of the blue for HOV highway use, when the car was supposed to be HOV approved. HERTZ will charge you hidden cost like this. This video talks a lot, almost, too much, about the Tesla 3 car itself. As a professional driver, it's just a car. The doors open and close. It has seats! Shocking! It goes forward, it goes backward. Big shit. He doesn't talk about the realities of using this extremely expensive bad product for rideshare. I've driven everything from 1993 Lincoln Towncars to Ford luggage vans, including stretch limousines for 20 years. I can drive anything. Let's get to the NEGATIVES of the Tesla 3: 1. Cost. $500 per week. I pay $250 per week for a Prius from a limousine company to make real money using UBER and now LYFT. Any driver that signs up for the UBER, HERTZ, TESLA, nightmare is going to be over paying by about $250 per week. Money that should stay in your pocket. 2. No spare tire. During my second week in the Tesla 3, I got a flat tire on the freeway in Downtown Los Angeles. After 2 hours of waiting, Hertz road side service sent me an amateur roadside mechanic that thought he was just going to change a spare tire! He didn't know that Tesla does not have a spare. And the Tesla can only be towed by a FLATBED TOW TRUCK. It cannot be dragged by a hitch tow truck because it will damage the rear axle where the electronic motor is. So, I waited another 2 hours for a flat bed tow truck. 4 hours waiting for a tow to the Pep Boys garage 3 miles away. Lucky me!!! Lost $150 in rideshare income due to no spare. 3. Charging. Is an absolute joke. First off, the charging network is thin and weak. There are only about 20 super-chargers in all of Los Angeles. A city of 4 million people. You do the math. Every charging station is different. They are hard to find and even more difficult to use. Downtown L.A. only has ONE station. On Alameda, on the 7th floor of a parking structure. If you go to the West Hollywood station on Sunset Blvd, there is a waiting line of 4 cars in front of you at 3am! Hopefully, you are not in a hurry to make money. I've seen Teslas being towed into charging stations. People that waited to long before their car died on them. If you choose the station at the Americana in Glendale, it's on the 7th level of the parking structure, and you have to pay $2 to exit on your way out. Yes, you have to pay a Billionaire, Caruso, $2 to use his parking structure to charge your expensive Tesla. 4. Luggage. 70 percent of limo work is the airport. Which means, a lot of luggage. The Tesla 3 was not designed for rideshare work. The rear trunk is deep and narrow. Which means that a large hard case cannot be turned upside. It has to lie flat. Which limits the trunk space usage. The front trunk, FRUNK, is just some stupid piece of ignorant engineering. It can only handle a small soft medium sized bag. It cannot fit a hard case of any kind. 5. Range. DON'T GET ME STARTED ON RANGE ANXIETY!!! The Tesla 3 can only go about 260 miles on a full charge. I usually drive 200 to 300 miles per shift in a hybrid Prius. I turn $20 of gas into $200 of gross income. That is my formula. If, you are at 100 miles of available miles in a Tesla 3, you are LOW on miles. You have to spend 1 hour to locate, drive to, wait, and charge a Tesla. 1 hour in which you are NOT making any money. As a fulltime driver, I had to do this TESLA HUSLTLE twice per shift. So, I lost 2 hours of earnings to keep the car charged for work. NOT WORTH IT. 6. 100 mile rides. As a professional driver, I cover a huge range of Southern California. I've done UBER rides to San Diego (very common), Bakersfield, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara. But, the Tesla 3 driving range LIMITS my commitment to these 100 mile rides. I had to decline several San Diego rides because I had no confidence in the San Diego charging network. I don't know one bit about how where they are, or how to access them. or how long to wait. I'm not from San Diego! 7. After my 3 month trial, UBER sent me a link to do a user survey. I didn't bother to answer. The only answer is that I have NOT returned to UBER/HERTZ/TESLA to rent again. I returned to my 10 year limo partners to rent a Prius V for $250/week and make my money through them. Please, do your research. UBER-HERTZ-TESLA is a scam. Use your own car if possible. ---Eddy from Hollywood California.
Totally correct.. renting a tesla to do rideshare is a scamm.. they keep those renters like slaves!!! I mean, you are paying for the rent.. is not line your are getting in it for free!!!! You should not commit to nothing as long as you pay the stupid rental fee!!!

Great video about the Tesla rental. My big problem with the model three is that pretty much I don’t fit. I’d have to have the seat the whole way back and then it takes up a lot of space in the back because I know it’s not that large back there. My second problem with the Tesla whether it’s model three or Y or X is luggage space. I do a lot of airport locally And I carry golf clubs with luggage. It’s usually big luggage too so that’s a big problem in a tesla as far as I can tell. Also, I would need the six seat version for XL and we all know that the six seats open decreases luggage space. That’s problem number two with limited luggage space for big suitcases. Maybe some Verison down the road would be better but I did move to a 2023 Toyota sienna.
For me, it was a bit tight also. The luggage will fit 2 large suitcases in the X and more in the Y. As for golfclubs, well that can be an issue LOL. We have to be comfortable in any vehicle if we plan to drive extended periods of time. Thx Boss!!

Good info viny doing Uber with Tesla as a rental may b for some n not . I used Elantra in 2015/16 n 17 . Da Tesla might be better to do this in . Maintenance wise . N better for riders to experience in . I still did ok but now my car with 268k miles needs lot of repairs since 2017. I have not sis this work since still drive da car n ya know o told da office work when I did door dash to buy this stock sue ya think so I said . Now I didn’t have da money to do it ya know bills to take care of . Looking back I wish I did at least for $100.00
Hertz takes everything upfront and now are also charging additional for "projected" supercharging cost so its a lot of money upfront without any earnings guarantees
The real time waster is trying to drive sometimes 45 minutes to a particular station and then charging at 35 minutes. What I’m wondering now is the time wasted driving to a charger and charging it as if I was on the clock for the entire duration.
I mean, I’m still in one right now and I keep thinking about getting my own but the liability of just getting another Tesla if you total it and it’s not on my insurance. It’s 500 more dollars a month for that and if you had your own the real thing as you cannot claim the Myles for taxes I guess legally because it’s a rental vehicle on top of like all the money throughout the year I’m realizing that now.
After thinking about the rental vs owning, I think IF the market can supply the amount of rides/pay then either way it can work. IM def all in on an EV for what we do, I like the car as its simple and easy to operate. Stay tuned as I have something coming down the pipe on this subject! Are you happy with the results you are having with the rental? Tesla?
@@VinnyKuzz I like the Tesla personally but Uber in it. I’m about tired of it. I have to explain the vehicle to over 400 people per month open the door for every single person reach back there open it tell them how to get out of it answer every question they have, which are the same questions which now I’ve explained the Tesla 7000 times and I’m about to get some signs made like if everybody knew how to open the door and everybody knew everything about it then I wouldn’t bother me as much but the EV charging is starting to become not worth it because I typically drive 50 hours a week and I’m about $150-$175 a month for electricity but now there are no discounts for the times that I do it so now I’m thinking about a gas car again. I like that the Tesla qualifies for all of the rides but if one more person which happens 20 times a day asked me, so how many miles does this get. I’m gonna lose it.
@@VinnyKuzz I want to go get my own but really it’s only $400 a month more and if I get in one collision then my insurance will go up if somebody dents the door it would cost multiple thousands of dollars if I did get into a fender bender and didn’t have all the money to fix the car then I would have to resend that new photos on the app to make the test to work meaning that if it’s $6000 to fix the door and I cannot keep driving because Uber wants it fixed I’d like the idea of taking the Tesla in and getting another one so I pay the extra $400 a month for that security and I’m sure helps play into depreciation because if I rack up 150,003 years will the car be worthless
I drove 43 mintes with a reservation in hand, showed up 30 minutes early and still got told they didn't have a Tesla as it was first come first serve even with a reservation WTF!!!

I have not sis this work since still drive da car n ya know o told da office work when I did door dash to buy this stock sue ya think so I said . Now I didn’t have da money to do it ya know bills to take care of . Looking back I wish I did at least for $100.00
Yooooo! What’s those 2 phone mounts you were using?
14:57 I see your problem right here you got an apple phone 😂
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
how do you get those many platforms on UBER i'm Uber platinum currently and only been driving about a month
Your vehicle dictates which platforms you can drive on as well as how long you have been driving. Check your local requirements for you.
3:16 I admit I also said show up early 😅 but they run the rentals like a sham office here.
yes, yes you did LOL
Can we use With Lyft? Cause Uber alone would be hard right?
Not with the Hertz Uber rental, only the Uber app for rideshare. If you do delivery with DD or one of those apps then I don't see why not.
Do you have to pay the first week in advance plus the deposit? When I rented through Lyft Xpress, it was only the security deposit.
Hertz takes everything upfront and now are also charging additional for "projected" supercharging cost so its a lot of money upfront without any earnings guarantees
@@VinnyKuzz yeah I don’t know about that. I might try Amazon flex though.
How much range is reduced from the battery running the air conditioner?
VERY little, in fact I sat for over an hour with the A/C on and the % moved 1%. Best feature was chilling in the car, no engine idle and staying cool.
1 hr in Phx Az 40 mi reduced...at airport hold lot
I’ve been renting with dania beach with a Tesla for a year now. Do you like it now?
How long does the charge to 80 % from 0 take at a Tesla Level 3 super charger?
I never got down to zero but id say about 15 to 20 minutes put me at 90% from 17%.
I drove 43 mintes with a reservation in hand, showed up 30 minutes early and still got told they didn't have a Tesla as it was first come first serve even with a reservation WTF!!!
It’s stupid to drive a Tesla 240 mile car for rideshare
Maybe, depends on the goals.
Feels like forklifts 😅
HAHAHA
Whenever I drive a Tesla it feels like driving a kitchen cabinet
LOLOLOLOL
😂😅🤣
Underrated comment 😅
What does that even mean 🤔
Yeah that’s why everyone is giddy when they drive one and pass all the petrol heads.
10:17 I have had my car jump the belt before not fun
12:32 😂
Does it require a credit check when you rent through Uber?
They actually clean yours lol
Im Vinny Kuzz, they knew I was coming!!!
Tesla has 5 models, im assuming you drove the lowest
Pain in the ass expensive as can be Uber does not offer good rides and you will be in bankruptcy court with there program it starts getting old when you are not making money
This is a Tesla review not the downs and ups for the Rental... Downvote this video
