I find a great creekside camp in the Pisgah national forest outside of Asheville and take a break from edting and making videos to have some fun! I frolic in the creek with the dogs, enjoy a campfire and ponder the noises coming from the woods in the dark!

Love this video. You are so happy in the mountains (I knew you would be) and the dogs are happy. I love the Smoky Mtns. I too, hiked the Appalachian Trail last year when I went up b to Clingnan''s Dome with my son. Coming down, we went off the paved walkway and went on the Trail for a little ways for fun and so we could say "we hiked the Appalachian Trail!". We will be back up there in Oct when the landscape will be covered in orange, gold and red leaves. We will hike lots of little trails to waterfalls so he can do photography. You have to see it then. Have a great time there.

Frolicking in the creek with the pups. Made me smile. I used to camp all the time with my 3 daughters all over Texas (native Texan). Sometimes with the husband or not, mostly not. Friends that would have big gatherings. I lived in Colorado for 16 years and how I miss the mountains now that I'm back in Texas. Took granddaughter camping all over Colorado. Dang I sure miss camping. Now that I am almost 70 living off SS with no transportation. I'm so thankful that I enjoyed every minute of what I did at the time. I have great memories. Be safe out there

Great to see you so happy Carolyn. . This seems the happiest in all of your videos that I've seen. The camp and the water are so beautiful. I love when you show the doggies! You did psyche me out with the comments of the dogs chasing the wolves away and then said nope, they are asleep in the campers. What a relief that was. LOL.

One of the things that is so nice about you is the childlike spirit you still possess. Watching you play in the creek was like seeing you as a little girl. Bet you were a little spitfire, adventure loving kid that always got in a lot of trouble (good trouble :-) ). A smart and curious little girl who grew up to be a smart and curious woman!

It's about time for a second childhood!!! They, (whoever they are) say, smiles and laughter help keep us young. I say, my body may grow old, but I, refuse to grow up. I was once told, I have the peter pan syndrome. But then couldn't I, fly??? Lol, we all need such reminders to enjoy and stay young. Thankyou again lady!

Carolyn I can't tell you how much I am enjoying these videos! I love all your videos but these are really special to me, they are bringing back some fond memories!. I grew up in KY and TN and spent a lot of time in the Smokies and on the reservation (Cherokee) I rode my motorcycle on the tail of the dragon and hiked parts of the App trail. I'm so glad you have found your happy place there in the south! You were really out of your comfort zone in the beginning! LOL now I think you could be considered a half billy! (You have to be born and raised there to be a full hillbilly) Thanks again for these awesome videos!

Love it! That whole area is one of my favorite places that I have been. I hope to camp out there again some time. The howling sounds more like wolves than coyote To me. And just go to the hardware store and get some plexiglass and put that in the window. I think that it would work just fine. You can always fix it "the right way" later. That way you can keep on having fun out in the sticks! Say hi to Bob for us. :-)

Download the Audubon Bird App to your mobile device, then at night, find the owls that would be in your area, keep calling them in with there sounds. You will be amazed to be able to see them up close so you can take pictures. We have a wonderful time up here doing that.

Yes I love a campfire, and I LOVE the sound of wolves in the distance. Yes, they are definitely wolves. Coyotes are more yippy, and you already noticed, higher pitched. Don't worry about them. They won't come near you. Just listen. They will sing to you.
Thanks for the trip to the Appalachian Trail and the great views of the Smoky Mountains. They really ARE smoky.
If you stay in the water long enough they'll nibble you LoL! My sister and I used to sit in the creeks around our house and catch them. Some are quite small. It was peaceful to just talk and play in the cool water alone. Glad you enjoy it. Please give Capone a good hug😊

Awe 😊 Love the howling. A while back I took the dogs out about 11pm. I heard howling so I called them onto the porch. It was cool to here the coyotes through the valley.

Nice video--beautiful spot. I am a native Floridian and you have discovered why folks become what is called "half backs." People move to Florida from the north and then end up moving north to NC (halfway back) because of the climate LOL

That place I told you about has Class Bs they go through them meticulously actually guarantee, says you can buy from them and drive them. Home even if it's cross country!!! Been in business 49 yrs family owned! You can tell me to shut up, no guarantees!

I knew you'd love Asheville! Glad to hear it's working out. Fall there and down around Oconee State Park and Table Rock State Park is just awesome. During October in Wahalla, SC there is an Oktoberfest (it was settled by Germans)... Above Wahalla and up around Oconee they have the BEST apples and Apple cider. When you drive the winding (careful) mountain roads all you can smell is heavenly apples. Most years the leaf changing rivals New England and a lot less crowded!
Your edited-in comments at the end are hilarious, lol!! The wolf/coyote howls also were spectacular, and I am green with envy ;).
Jannike, When I pulled up the video to edit, I couldn't believe how well my cell phone picked them up!!! When we first heard them I rushed to turn the phone on and hadn't remembered how much howling I got!! So glad I got it! great memory, and glad you enjoyed it!

You find some of the most beautiful places. When the little fishes were tickling you, I noticed a really pretty blue butterfly flying around you as well. I love the shot of the sun coming through the trees so peaceful and perfect.

Hello Carolyn!!! There are a few things to watch out for while camping around this area. Make sure to check yourself and the dogs for ticks. When messing around in the creeks and rivers watch out for water moccasin snakes and snapping turtles. Around camp watch out for copperhead snakes,, at night make sure to leave no trash out because it will attract Wolves and black bears and also raccoons. I think that's everything lol. If you hear something that sounds kinda like a woman yelling its either mountain lions or peacock's. I'm glad to see your still having fun!! Oh good! Glad you and Bob and dogs are getting to"recharge your batteries" I live in Alabama,usually when i hear the coyotes "yipping" tbere's alot of them,you can hear tbe differient voices.We do have wolves here in tbe Appalachian foothills.I was hiking alone and looked up and saw two wolves watching me.I was so excited, i didn't think about being in danger.
My fiancé is a wildlife control agent. He was hired by a country club in Huntersville near where we live to remove coyotes from the golf course! We have been to the pisgah center and taught numerous trapping classes there. Park ranger Lee Sherrill knows David Allen and I quite well!

Our coyotes here in WV do the "yip yip yip" during all that howling, and then all the noise stops abruptly. It's the worst sound ever to hear in the middle of the night. On another note, the area you're in looks a lot like home...beautiful. And, playing in the creek is the best! :D Thanks for sharing!

LOVE SEEING YOU HAPPY! You're in my neck of the woods now, the APPALACHIAN! Lived out that way most of my life until moving west 6 years ago. In my youth I walked many miles of it in Virginia, and also worked on the trail with the Youth Conservation Corps. Believe me, seeing that grassy hillside is gorgeous, but you haven't begun to see the Appalachians until you've hiked the App Trail through Virginia. The rocky knolls are my favorite. Hope you took a bath in that nice water while you were there! I'd boil it first. Beautiful way to end that vid, it's the only time I've ever missed "home" since moving away. WOW! Didn't think it would affect me like that. What out for POISON IVY!!! You've been warned. THANKS TO YOU AND BOB for a relaxing video! YOU TWO ROCK!
